Where did you got than fanart ? Did it came with the release of Vermintide 2 ?
Ayden Hughes
Also not fair, we just had a pretty nice general outside of the "50 shade of the empire" someone posted compared to the pieces of shit that were the 2 precedent thread
Chase Sullivan
GW posted it with an article on Warhammer Community.
Austin Edwards
Please talk me out of starting an 8th edition Dwarf army.
Thinking about a Mousillon army lads. Probably been done to death though innit.
Sebastian Ortiz

BE GONE CHAV!
First rule of Warhammer fight club is don't do anything in relation to Bretonnia or Tomb Kings because it's all way too expensive.
Blake King
I might just have to succumb and buy AoS Cold One riders, even though these dinos look emaciated and dumb. Fucking impossible to find the old kind and no one makes a passable substitute. I found one lad on an auction site selling five of the old sort for €45. Maybe I should go for it, I don't know.
Why? It's cool. I'm considering starting one myself RIGHT NOW.
MoM Dwarfs look absolutely awesome and are cheap as dirt though. And AoW has a discount on Dwarfs at the moment.
Jayden Taylor
In smaller (500pts and stuff) games, can I rely on dwarf characters' natural toughness and 3+ armor save from armor and shield, and forgo using magic items completely?
Luke Wilson
playing the warhammer totalwar games has gotten me really interested in table top wh fantasy. is there an active community for it? I'd only ever heard of 40k before
Brayden Wright
No, GW killed it.
Camden Anderson
It's still a very popular game but what matters is if there's a community near you. Most major towns will have one but if your living in some American ex-mining village then the answer is probably no.
Ian Howard
how? makes sense, there are two stores near me, I've been meaning to go and ask to find out
Jaxon Hernandez
We have this bait every ding ding day. Stop torturing us
Justin Kelly
Pretty much. Maybe give him a rune of strenght so he hits with S5
Aaron Allen
You're shooting yourself in the foot when you could give the rune of steel to everyone
Chase Green
Well just base your guys on squares then you can play Age of Smeg in the meantime if there isn't a Fantasy community. Maybe you could start one.
I can't believe I set myself up for the mathematician's answer.
Jayden Gonzalez
No one plays the 8th edition here.
John Peterson
So how do people play the game? Completely new to fantasy.
All of this is assuming I'll ever find another Fantasy player
Henry Sullivan
They either play older editions, mainly the 7th with 6th edition armybooks, or they play the 9th age, since it's like a fixed version of the 8th edition.
Nathan Stewart
I play 6th and 3rd ed.S
Oliver Gutierrez
I do sometimes but that game needs a gentleman's agreement.
Carter Ortiz
In WHFRP 2nd Edition can a character learn both Divine and Arcane magic, or are they exclusive? Additionally could either one of them learn the Dark Lores?
Brayden Brown
Mutually exclusive afaik Yes both can if they have a mean to it
Robert White
I consider myself a T9A adherent, but I don't play 'cos there's nobody to play any edition of Warhammer here
Xavier Bailey
Yup, they are mutually exclusive. They cover this in the Core; if you progress from Priest to something with a regular Lore of magic, it represents your priest abandoning his faith-bound magic in favour of academic study of the winds of magic, and if it's the opposite then it's a wizard finding his faith.
Sebastian Morris
As people have said it really depends on the local scene as the game is officially dead. However I'd bet that atleast some of the peeps around you that play 40K or AoS have a Fantasy army tucked away aswell.
Adam Gray
I exclusively play 8th edition.
Speak for yourself, dingus.
Jace Foster
What do you like about T9A?
Parker Sullivan
Both, I also play age of sigmar though.
You'll be stuck playing what ever edition your local groups are into.
Joshua Howard
Not in the core rules, and amazingly not clarified until the very last sourcebook.
I see. It appears that it was I who had dun' goof'd
William Brooks
That's an...odd way of doing it. I guess Warhammer Fantasy doesn't like Religious Scholars or old-school Natural Philosophers.
Evan Rodriguez
Montfortanon here. Welcome to suffering. If you go Mousillon you could attempt to shit up your knights with undead armors and weapons for the extra grim feel. Otherwise: >Peasants: Momminiaturas sells spearmen at 1€ apiece. Perry has boxes of bowmen but the proportions are historical vs warhammers heroic ones. >Knights: Norba minis sells some Grial and Questing ones. They dont look that great but they are the closest to GW while remaining reasonably affordable. Norbas grial knights can be converted a little to make realm or errants. >Pegasus: Norba has good pegasus, they look nice, reasonably cheap. >Damsels: get em at gamezone. You'll be paying gw hero price tho. They look nice. >Mounted yeomen: the trickiest shit. I bought a box of mounted sergeants from Fireforge/Deus Vult. 12 dudes for 24€. Their horses are smaller than gw ones but i think it looks ok since they ride shittier horses. >Trebuchets: Norba or Momminiaturas. Either look nice and are affordable. >Heroes: just raid Gamezone. GW prices but they look nice.
Alternatively you can thread the roundabout path of finding second hand deals, stripping their paint with brake fluid and carefully restoring the disgraces that the original owner commited to them.
Cheers lad, we are the underdog faction, having a Bret army nowadays is a commitment.
Levi Watson
It absolutely loves those types. It just doesn't like them casting magic. The idea is that wizards of the colleges necessarily must reject the worshiping of deities in the practice of wizardry, as that all too often leads to Chaos worship. Similarly, priests of the Old World either don't understand or completely reject the notion that magic is linked to Chaos. A priest that learns how magic works is probably going to find it very hard to continue to worship their god, and probably be ostracized by their church for their radical ideas on how miracles work.
>no one makes a passable substitute. have you looked at gamezone's predators, they are visibly directly inspired by the cold ones as depicted in their old version on black library cover for malus darkblade books they are not cheap, but they look the best alternative to me and I think they sell individual bits to buy them without the elven riders or the attached chariots
big as fuck tho, but that's a plus in by book, don't know about you
So whilst magic ultimately comes from the same place, is the way priests wield it not very different from how the wizards use it? It seems considerably less risky to use it as a cleric; is it because it's channeled through their chosen god, making it more difficult for daemons and other warp ilk to tag onto the "wind"?
Juan Thomas
I plan on making a Tomb Kings army at some point using Mantic's Empire of Dust miniatures.
Since GeeDubs squatted the TK for Age of Scrub, are there any other companies besides Mantic out there that still do Egyptian-themed undead?
Also, where can I possibly get kits/bits that have bows that are suitably sized for Monstrous Infantry? I like Ushabti (especially the bow variant, even if they're a bit meh stat-wise) and I'm planning on proxying them with the minis for Mantic's Enslaved Guardians, but their crossbows just aren't as cool to me as the original Ushabti longbows.
Nolan Green
The priests use it via faith and somehow tap into the magic of their God, some of the deities in the warp being benign.
Wizards tell the warp what to do and make their brain do the work and that sometimes fails miserably. Get the pronunciation wrong, try it in an area of to much magic and you get feedback.
Ethan Taylor
seing how Shade Kerillian somehow also got that purple complexion despite being a Daughter of Athel Loren, what could the explanation for it be? The Influence of Khaine? Some sort of Warpaint/Oil against the cold?
That's exactly how it works. When a priest prays to Sigmar to smite his foes, he's just reciting prayers that have been passed down for thousands of years, and he either is granted the power directly from the god, or somehow gets access to a sort of divine power source. When a wizard creates a raging inferno, he has to do all of the heavy lifting himself. While this is a more powerful method of spellcasting, it's necessarily more dangerous because you don't have a God filtering out all of the side-effects. Going a step further, this is why Dark Magic is so effective. There's no filter at all on the magic being used, at the greatly increased risk of things going wrong.
Cameron James
Right, which could explain why wizard magic is generally more effective than priest magic. The former tap into the winds of magic directly whilst priests get their magic filtered through their deity; with the latter having less direct control of the power they recieve?
Henry Lopez
Since Kerillian's obviously dumb enough to buy in Khaine's shenanigans, it's not unlikely that she's started drinking colloidal silver instead of the tested-and-true health pots.
Also I think chinamen still make copies of the sphinx kits, perhaps the ushabtis too I'm not sure
Jacob Sullivan
Okay, that makes a lot of sense. The miracles in WHFRPG 2nd ed are pretty fucking solid, but outside of very intense ritual magic they don't seem to get close to the more impressive spells related to the arcane lores.
Thomas Brooks
maybe that's just how elven skin react to a prolonged lack of sunlight, which I assume shades avoid in numerous ways.
Brandon Cox
Khaine is venerated by all elves.
Chase Sullivan
>khaine gives her vigour for every foeman she slays >shenanigans she literally becomes a wife of Khaine, even as a Waystalker, once you reach lvl 20. Also, Khaine isn't a Chaos God, so worshipping him doesn't have many downsides, and isn't even explicitly banned, just looked down upon.
Its just to make her appear more Dark Elf-y, no other reason or purpose behind it
Julian Johnson
Money isn't really a problem. It's a better decision than spending it on actual crack anyway. It's either 8th edition or AoS that's the name of the game here and I don't want no circular bases.
>MoM Dwarfs look absolutely awesome and are cheap as dirt though. Holy fuck you weren't kidding. I wouldn't mind using pic related as Ironbreakers.
Do you know if the scale is close enough that it wouldn't look weird to mix MoM, AoW and GW minis in the same army? I kinda like bits and pieces from each of those lines.
The Dark Elves turned their back on the lore of life in favour of alternative medicine, I'm tellin you!
Adam Moore
Thanks!
How and where do I get stuff from Chinamen?
Elijah Perez
Okay that's ridicoulusly cheap and incredibly good looking for that price. How out of place would they look side by side to dwarfs from AoS, GW and MoM?
Jack Roberts
They fit very well with GW dwarfs; they're sculpted by Nick Lund after all. Not sure about the others though.
Another option is the Oathmark dwarves, though they're not as cheap.
I don't remember now, I used to have the contacts, but it was years ago, you should probably google around or look into the 4plebs archives when the informations still flew around There are many recasters anyway, I remember having a decent purchase with a certain coolcastornot, not the cheapest nor the most furnished but the bits I took were fine and needed not much more work than finecast would, as a comparison, while the resin being the opposite: very hard and easy to break rather than bend, but even when it breaks it does in pieces big enough to be reglued together with little effort or bearing many signs of having broken. I would recommend using recasts only for larger models as the smaller the bits are the most probable it is they come miscasted as far as I saw with other people taking small firearms for infantry where I saw more than one barrels and magazines turning out with air bubbles among a cast of a dozen.
Then I'd assume the stomps to be flaming as well since it is considered an attack iirc
Nicholas Morgan
It's on fire. It's the K'daai Destroyer I'm worrying about.
I'm going up against a Chorf player and he is likely to bring either that monstrosity or the not!train. To counter the former I was thinking of just getting an exalted Hero with some sort of flame ward and the Warrior Bane-weapon. For the latter I was thinking either a gorebeast chariot or a bunch of Ogres. Whichever he brings I'll do my best to nerf it silly with Lore of Shadows so that I have a chance get myself out of the situation.
Christian Nelson
Bait so weak my dead grandmother could beat it in a fight
Brody Rogers
It's from a White Dwarf I think
Gabriel Parker
Why she also apologize for being a naysayer who got BTFO?
Jaxson Lewis
See So long as its classed as an attack and the big guy himself has the flaming rule, I'd assume the stomp to be flaming as well I might be wrong but that'd be my interpretation
Anthony Allen
No idea but I prefer my Chaos Marauders as scrawny and malnourished looking instead of hulking meat mountains.
But you know that's just not true, there are more humans in norsca than anywhere else and they're all well fed, brawny and armed to the tooth despite inhabiting a dead land with no farms in sight

Landon Moore
Elves do both (The Loremasters of Hoeth, for example). But the Elven conception of the divine differs pretty drastically from the Human one, and they see religious blessings and miracles as fundamentally the same as a spell.
