It would be nice to have them as troops, but I mainly only say that because raising the troop minimum to 3 was painful for everyone not playing a horde army.

With strong enough isopropyl weaken/dissolve super glue? I have a devilfish with a glued burst cannon from eBay that’s driving me nuts.
Josiah Bennett
Make a named character for the dark Eldar to fill a hole in the army.
Darth Haemonculi Normal Haemonculi stat block, but allows you to upgrade splinter weapons to get plus one to wound for one point per weapon upgraded.
Gavin Clark
It is technically "Worse" in that you get less discount for the changed box and Wyches are less useful than Kabalites.
Liam Taylor
>Reposting this because it's been bugging me all day.
Can anyone help me find a bit of fluff. I could have sworn it was in the 8th edition rulebook appendix, but it was a small bit about the guards on the black ships and how they wear masks made to look like snarling beasts.
I'm about to start an army based off a black ships forces and thought it would make for some cool scion conversions.
William Price
Gonna repost once since last thread it was DoA. So now that Codex:Blueberries has been out long enough for the people who play to get a few games, and everyone else to at least have read a bit, what units are the big winners so far? Here’s what I’ve got. >WAAC tier Coldstar, Fireblade+MSU Strike Teams >Easily auto-include tier Pathfinders, Ghostkeel, Stealth Suits, Ionheads >Good tier Broadsides(HYMP better, but HRR serviceable), Ethereals, Enforcer Commanders >Fieldable if you like it tier Carnivores, Firesight+Sniper Drones, Breachers(quite situational though), Crisis Commanders, Devilfish, Shield Drones(might be good, need more testing). >Things I haven’t tried but might be really good Riptide, Sunshark Bomber, some Crisis loadouts, Marker Drones(don’t see why I’d want them over pathfinders though), and all named characters(because miss me with that gay shit). Anything obvious I’m missing? Anything y’all have felt like has over-performed for you?
Parker Baker
in the points section of the new codex it shows them as troops, wheras the datasheet still shows them as elites
Adam Hughes
Thoughts on the conversion beamer on a chaos contemptor? I feel like it has easy potential for a crapload of damage to hordes and think a pair would be hilarious.
>With strong enough isopropyl weaken/dissolve super glue? It will eat the plastic as well. Freeze it, which will make the glue brittle, and you should be able to snap it.
Matthew Fisher
>just found out Deathwatch still have specialist ammunition and apply it to other kinds of bolt weapon as well >meanwhile sternguard don't even get better combi-bolters anymore what the actual fuck
I preferred the original one with Kabalites myself, but its possible the Codex will make this one a bit better I guess. I just don't like most of the Wych Cult units.
Julian Smith
I want to kitbash Crisis suits with Dreads to make them look more Imperial and then attach some AdMech weaponry. I think I could use them as Kastelans. Is this maximum Tech-Heresy?
Robert Brown
In my last game I got tabled by crisis fusion spam backed up by a couple units of strikes.
Well... almost tabled. I had a single model left at the end of turn 5, and won it on points.
Daniel Martin
You get 5 less dollars of value (AUD) while getting a lot of value in that you actually want venoms over raiders. And you can still pick up the kabalite sky splinter if you just want the raiders and warriors.
Julian Martin
Gonna try this. Thanks lads.
Kevin Cruz
Archon Leads-From-Behind Literally just an archon with a big ranged gun.
John Evans
Archon T'Cev. He's effectively a vehicle special character, as he always rides on his special Raider Of Ruination which is like a normal raider but with an invulnerable save, better stats and a few extra guns, and an extra melee weapon to represent the archon leaning over the side and hitting stuff.
Anthony Watson
Mix in some Necron and Eldar stuff to achieve MAXIMUM
Parker Taylor
Is it possible to summon under-strength units?
Example: I currently have 56 points left over in my list. I want to summon 8 Bloodletters that cost 56 points, but minimum squad size is 10. Is that legal?
What if unsaved wounds from splinter weps give further splinter shots +1 to wound? Would that be what deldar need?
Gavin Anderson
>laughs in kronos
Elijah Rodriguez
Should I make my third 10 man immortal unit gauss or tesla? I already own one of each.
Thomas Moore
Only if you used power points.
They are troops when using points.
Jose Clark
no
Landon Lewis
UNDERSTRENGTH UNITS Each unit’s datasheet will describe how many models make up that unit. Sometimes you may find that you do not have enough models to field a minimum-sizedunit; if this is the case, you can still include one unit of that type in your army with as many models a . s you have available If you are using Power Ratings, you must still pay the Power Rating cost as if you had a minimum-sized unit, even though it contains fewer models. If you are using points, you only pay the points for the models you actually have in an understrength unit (and any wargear they are equipped with). An understrength unit still takes up the appropriate slot in a Detachment. If you are playing a matched play game, you can only include an understrength unit in an Auxiliary Support Detachment.
Gavin Barnes
I disagree, because while you definitely want venoms over raiders, you probably also want kabalites over wyches, and you definitely don't want a succubus. Ironically, I'd be much more likely to use raiders with wyches.
>You get 5 less dollars of value (AUD) while getting a lot of value in that you actually want venoms over raiders. You may want to stock up on venoms, but who wants lots of wyches? Its a dumb box set too, because they give you 10 infantry, and a transport that only carries 5.
>And you can still pick up the kabalite sky splinter if you just want the raiders and warriors. Discontinued a long time ago m8.
Anthony Kelly
Is the scan of the Necron Codex around yet? Failing that, does anybody have a link to the leaked beta one?
About to order a bunch of stuff but lost the leak.
Cheers
Joseph Cooper
>If you are playing a matched play game, you can only include an understrength unit in an Auxiliary Support Detachment. This is the relevant part.
>he wants a scan of a codex that isn't even out until Saturday Jesus user, just wait
Jace Jones
Why though? I can't find anywhere that SUMMONING under-strength units is not allowed. Power level remains the same and they are not in the list, just reinforcement points are left open.
The problem with splinter weapons is that you're paying for s4, essentially, but what you get is strictly worse. Against t3 you're much less efficient than their weapons, whether s3 or s4 and you can't do shit to vehicles, even weak vehicles. And everything not a vehicle with a high toughness has good armour as well, and a shit ton of wounds. If you want to fix them, give them s4 and mortal wounds/heavy armour save mod like eldar shurikens on 6's or something (and make vehicles immune to it, if you must).
Nolan Fisher
Special circumstances, it was leaked as a YouTube video weeks before release.
I have it, but I have it as an unweildy pile of individual phone screenshots.
Thomas Lewis
So where are the Dark Eldar leaks? I'm getting pissed off that every single faggoty army had their shit leaked except my army.
Gavin Garcia
It's not included in the army though, since it's not in the list. You are summoning them.
Jack Mitchell
I already have FW doors user so I can already summon after disembarking, but can I summon under-strength units after disembarking?
Splinter are shit against guard but good against bikes, death guard, Custodes and so on. Not awful anti-monster either.
A bit of a mixed bag, but ultimately the unit is cheap, can take a blaster, and you want to spam their transports anyhow.
Jaxon Foster
>the codex isnt even on pre order yet and he wants leaks >hell the first preview isnt even up yet and he wants codex leaks Jesus fuck you people are impatient
Bentley Lee
This. Dataslate role designation > point index categorisation.
Are you talking about the stormtroopers/scions on the Inquisitorial Black Ships, or the guards on the Black Ships of the Astra Telepathica?
The former COULD have spooky masks, but I'd wonder what Ordo the commanding Inquisitor is from if that was the case.
The second although possible I am doubtful of, as their main purpose is to suppress and guard the rogue psykers on their way to Holy Terra and wearing scary beastlike masks when trying to keep a population of rogue psykers in constant chaos calm seems poorly thought out.
You could always make up some fluffy reason to run with it anyway.
Michael Kelly
... are, are you talking to me? cos I think you wanted the other guy
Juan Parker
Cheers user.
Gavin Williams
its not what is not allowed. its about what is allowed.
learn the difference
Brandon James
Jesus user wait until GW decides to leak it. Because we all know that's where all the leaks come from. It'll come around this week or next.
Thanks user, beta is fine. Just so I don’t order total shite.
Angel Murphy
Non-weeb here, 'Fireblade+MSU Strike Teams' I guess would be infantryspam like Chaos Cultists or IG blobs, but which gundam is the Coldstar and what makes it so good?
Cooper Perez
>If you want to fix them, give them s4 and mortal wounds/heavy armour save mod like eldar shurikens on 6's or something (and make vehicles immune to it, if you must).
I don't mind the general +4 to wound, it gives them a unique feel, but something like that +6 to wound does a mortal wound would be nice. Might need balancing though.
Nathaniel Davis
Got a weird urge to do a United Eldar bike list.
Not helped mind by corsair bikes not having rules anymore.
Kevin Lewis
I know there are definitely pros and cons, but essentially the problem is that the low-toughness models are better given the 8E wound rules, and everything with a higher toughness than normal has at least a 4+, and splinter weaponry can't do shit against armour saves.
Anthony Taylor
Then maybe you should buy some, instead of a box that only comes with 10.
Adam Nguyen
Would you faggots shut up about this already? We'll get out leaks in due time, the necron Codex coming out so early just spoiled everyone.
Jaxson Garcia
40kg, what is best in life?
Alexander Barnes
>when you get that fluff for your army just right Feels good man.
The game is based on an INCLUSIVE ruleset, which means it is only allowed if it specifically says it is.
The game states you can ONLY have under strength units in an auxiliary detachment. Summoning is not an auxiliary detachment, nor does it say you can summon under strength units, therefore you can't.
Cooper Peterson
I think the tau codex leaked about a week before this point too.
Juan Lopez
To crush the Daemons, see Heretics driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the Xenos
Brandon Harris
>which gundam is the Coldstar and what makes it so good? ...it is literally called Coldstar. That's like asking which Gundam is the Riptide.
And it is good because it can advance 40" and shit out 4 meltagun shots at BS2+
Landon Rodriguez
>and to hear the lamentation of the Xenos What about the lamentations of the Xenos women and in particular those of them with thicc thighs?
Nathan Thompson
building plastic models and never stopping
Xavier Butler
Or move 20, shit out four Melta shots, charge, shit out two more Melta shots.
Wyatt Wright
Alright, I'm going to concede the argument even though I am not convinced since it feels like we're getting into seriously waacfag territory.
It's the fighter jet one that can rocket up 20", or 40" when advancing, and hit you with 4 fusions. Or my personal favorite, 3 fusions, shield generator and fusion blades.
Why did no one smell a rat before Istavan 5? Like, everyone knew that Horus was a military genius, surely they must have suspected that other legions would have fallen other then the DG, WE and EC to his cause due to the fact that horus would have known that he had no hope of winning with just those legions?
