That's why you either
A) disappear
B) Give your entire family -some- money
C) disappear and give money

If I had that much money, my family is small. I'd pay them off equally and disappear for 5-10 years.

What if immediately after winning you write a will saying all your money goes to charity. Let them know and maybe they won't bother.

US lotteries are ridiculously huge, it's crazy that you get solo winners.

Everytime we get a big one here in Australia (like 50+ million) there's usually several winners.

not converting your entire will into Ethereum and depositing it into a smart contract trust fund that scans social media and public record for degeneracy like racemixing, drug use, or not having at least 3 children before 30 and cutting them off for violating the parameters.

Well if is smart he'd hire some protection if he was afraid of something happening. Personally if I were him I would put that money to work into some form of safe scale-able business, let other people really run the shit and grow it slow, then you have millions and a company to keep everything going well after you're gone.

Jack Whittaker. Already earned himself a comfy retirement with $15 million and won a 315 million jackpot. Shouldn't be a problem for him to manage that, right?
Family and friends milked him, neighbors and strangers constantly harassed him, people sent him sob stories that he fell for, sued many times over for millions for petty offenses. Drugs, strippers, affairs, and a divorce to top it off and he's now broke.
There are quite a few interesting lottery stories. This one just stands out because he was already crazy wealthy and managed to fall victim to the lottery curse.

This is what pisses me off about modern society.

420 million is more actual 'wealth value' than any single individual human being could actually produce on their own - even the most ingenious person on earth or the most enterprising can only create something or exploit opportunities within the context of society.

Yet here's society, the same society that bags me out for being a NEET, handing over this amount to one single person randomly - when this money could easily have been invested in MANY people with a much better result - if you'd split it up into $2 million amounts, you could liberate 210 people into a state of leisure and freedom to pursue their own interests and activities - and even if 95% of those people ended up doing nothing with it - there'd be more people actually doing something of value with that 5%.

Instead society plays this game of encouraging everyone to want to be SUPER rich, which creates resentment, anxiety, discord, jealousy - and ultimately lots of waste.

I personally know of several projects I could get started on if I was just given enough to get by without working - which would require less than the $2 million easily, and all of these projects would benefit people and animals and the world.

@Stupidasole
No one actually wins, the lottery commission just pays a randomly-selected bum $10-50,000 dollars to be a "winner". It's really just a scam run by the government to funnel money from dumb people back to them.

And retard that’s a mere fraction of the revenue that the lottery generates anyways. Those 400 million dollars are an incentive to get people to pay a tax and you’re not seeing the other billions of revenue that the lottery generates in tax revenue for your welfare state. I’m not even mentioning the amount of taxes that is then taken out of the winners jackpot by the taxman after the fact

you have no motivation. you blame the world for your situation. that's not the attitude of someone who would start, let alone complete. any successful project. let alone SEVERAL projects.

you need to take responsibility for yourself and your situation.

In no way am I suggesting socialism\communism or state redistribution. The lottery itself in most countries is run by the state - in the UK if you buy a lottery ticket you're contributing money towards films which will pile on against "white males", etc. I'm saying this type of distribution is ridiculous. Keep fighting those straw-men, though.

@happy_sad

You're wrong, I'm making the best of my situation as I can. I'm building my wealth at this stage, but I still resent the ridiculousness of redistribution as it exists today. If I didn't have to spend my time on crypto and other endeavours, I could be doing much more productive things that would produce wealth and social value for far more people.

farquit

@CouchChiller
You're right and wrong. You're right that there's no real lottery winner but the reason the lottery exists is to catch time travelers. If somebody actually does win the lottery(which is impossible, they select numbers that nobody has taken), they're taken into captivity by the US government and interrogated.

Some states differ, but also you can have every set up before you go to collect. Call an estate attorney and have various trusts set up for when you collect. One for you, one for your mom, ex girlfriend, her new black boyfriend, whatever.

EGAS has a 13 mil max coin supply and the price is sub 10cents right now. Even if it turns out to be a scamcoin it will definitely get pumped to $1 before then and that will only put it at 13m market cap.
