>Co/a is all i have that isnt on my kindle

Do you use the old "Kindle Keyboard" or do you have the newer "Kindle Touch"?

youtube.com/watch?v=-TvSiYu8z2M

It doesnt have a keyboard but it isnt a tablet or even backlit

My shitty old recliner and tiny library.

Looks like an author lives there. Or at least an old man whose main concern isn't that his visitors be able to see what's in his collection. Nice job.

Part of the upstairs library.

Confy/10

um, are you gay and living in berlin?

I have a similar setup.

Also I bet you plebs don't even build your own bookshelves. (you can tell I built it because of how shitty it is)

What interests you so much about Brecht OP if you don't mind me asking?

>those modern library of america paperbacks
They're GOAT, nice taste

Do you only buy new books?

that's really good

Nice dude. Do I spot a bible and also mythology be edith hamilton?

Your shelves are a pleasant in-between of order and chaos.

>Also I bet you plebs don't even build your own bookshelves

AYY

doesn't pine smell so good ?

Yeah I built this one. Picture was taken before I added crown molding to both the top and bottom to cover the screws. Have another one just a little smaller on the opposite wall

>pine

Get the fuck out, peasant.

yessir
Depends, there's a handful of used bookstore finds but it's rare to find something beyond classic lit like cervantes, joyce, faulkner, nabokov (which are of a few of the ones I bought used) Plus it's just too easy to one click buy stuff on amazon and get it here in a day or two.
My room smells really nice since I've moved my bookshelf in

Rate my newfag stack. I have read everything except for TBK and A Portrait of the Artist.

I'd hang out with you user

uh..lenin?

cool vinyl section.
seems pretty comfy.

whats under the glass?

The coffee table has a slide-out tray that you can but books or other stuff on display in four sections. Right now it has some older printed pages I own.

William Morris: A trial page from Kelmscott's edition of Caxton's Golden Legend, 1892.

A page from the Doves Press edition of Paradise Lost, 1902, featuring that immortal typeface.

3. Two fabulous old Master prints: German engravings, 17th C.

4. A page from a rubricated incunabulum hymnal, 15th C.

Some more cases from the library: poetry and print culture/Pre-Raphaelite

And the other corner.

Why the fuck are you guys stacking your books horizontally?

What chair is this?

Just started getting Veeky Forums this summer. Slowly building a collection. I read in bed or outdoors btw so no big comfy chair next to my stacks

I like this one. Looks real comfy.

>current year
>not using joints

Weekend dad diy tier

I used wooden dowels for my shelf

Please paint your walls a different color.

Replica Eames chairs because user's are too cheap for the real deal.

This triggers me. Why wouldn't you buy similar editions?

Where'd you acquire them?

>buying books based on visual aesthetics

You should spend a day staining it. It would look one billion times better for comparatively little effort

Jesus wept.

I to would like to know this.

I realized how badly I need to vacuum after taking this. I usually read in bed or on that cheap Ikea couch.

>that gap between the first and second bookcases
Triggered

Haha, there's an outlet there I didn't want to cover, but I'm probably going to scoot it over and put a half size Billy in the corner eventually.

mirin that lenin statue bro. also nice library

Hello mr Reddit.

What does it have to do with reddit?

All of those dust collectors and tasteless knick-knacks at the top of the shelves.

Sorry user, but I don't really have as much say about the top of my shelves. My other half even had half of one my bookcases commandeered until I took it back.

You're a couple and you have fucking legos on your bookshelves?

Fucking millennials.

What's behind the door?

All those fantasy/sci-fi books, then Infinite Jest to make you feel like your compensating for lack anything literary.

They're only my books. I'd obviously rather have my own stuff up there, but, compromise.

A tunnel that leads to John Malkovich's head.

Because he isn't autistic.

>Alice Munro
Nice.

N-nothing

Is she actually good? I'm so hesitant to read Munro and Atwood... probably irrational.

What is her best book?

Munro is short story writer. Not sure about Atwood, though, because she writes somewhat fantasy(?). It's hard to tell you which of Munro's story is best, but best examples I know of are "Something I've Been Meaning to Tell You" and "Dance of the Happy Shades". Give those a whirl.

She's been writing for umpteen decades now, and her short work is usually very solid, sometimes great. I've got about ten collections.

>Giles Goat-Boy
Damn, I see many many great books on that wall. A fine library, user.

Because most bookcases have at least two fixed shelves, and you end up with narrow shelves and books that won't fit where you want them upright, so the choice is to lay them down, on their edge, or put them far away from their appropriate spot. Also, sometimes you just need to have a stack to save room. I'd rather not waste space and screw up the order constantly.

That is realy nice

How will you build the mechanism that swings it out for easy access to the secret rape dungeon?

Gotta meme it up.

There's other stuff like babbitt, homer's works, catch-22, walden etc. I'm just starting my literary journey. No bully.

horrible. there must be so much echo. just imagine listening to music there

>sixteen years after the 21st century
>listening to music

post cat

here you go user

Good start

Why would you take a picture which doesnt actually let us see what books you read?

>8 5 66 222
>one one two three
nice fibonaccis, checked

>sixteen years after the 21st century
Shit nigga, whats 2116 like?

bad picture

Ikea Liatorp table, actually. Big but handy. If you don't want to display stuff you can just stick your currant "to reads" in there.

Why do you want to know what books he reads? This is a bookshelf battlestation thread. It's about /comfy/, not /ElitistJudgment/

Your interests are reddit tier.

That is not cosy at all.

Moomins are fucking great and nice table

i'm in the same boat as you. just finished reading lolita and now reading crying of lot 49

well done and good luck. good to see i'm not the only one collecting records and literature.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA Holy shit, how can one man be this retarded?

You know that 0001 was in de first century?
0002 in the second century.
And thus 2001 being in the 21 century?

Fellow Calvino lover here!

My dad has a workshop with a tablesaw and a mitre saw and a bunch of other woodworking tools. . .are you telling me I could make something as nice as my very own pine bookcase? My secondhand ikea "billy" shitheaps are getting shabby and sagged in the middle.

user don't get my hopes up!

This is my little library. My only regret is that it doesn't go up to the ceiling (365 centimeters).

I like it though, raw and functional. I don't have access to a workshop anymore, but I don't know if I would have bothered even then when you can get finished ones so cheaply. Picked up these three and another for the equivalent of fifteen dollars.

What do you keep in them to make them sag?

How do you sort your books, alphabetically? Also, do you divide books that are to read from those that are read?
I stack book that are to read horizontally, and those that I read vertically and alphabetically.

a selection, having bookselves in all four wals makes it realy dark plus I have a shity cammera phone
