Great, just what we needed. More trigonometry autism.

>scienceforums.net/topic/112215-introducing-the-piangle/
Please not the piangle, I refuse to call it the piangle.

Not everyone has what it takes for trig, user.

I get to call it whatever I want

please no

>I get to call it whatever I want
Please, please not "piangle", please. Maybe something 'proper' Greek?

I'd rather make math a meme. What would you rather call it?

Pretty cool user. But how do you pronounce piangle?

I supposed I could call it the Pizza Pi or a Right Pepe if that's your guys style.

pie-angle

Rare Pi-pi

pretty intresting

What would be its applications?

easy on the delusions OP

I googled the latex for the hypotenuse too and found nothing.

There is probably an analog in 3 dimensions. You can maybe deal with circles in rectangular coordinates with this.

E.g. in integration

yeah but its nothing special and you can't do anything with it.

>Pizza Pi
100%, make a poll.

>nothing special
>t. engineer
It's a fucking discovery, user!

I think people used to say that about arithmetic back in the old days. Anyway you can measure squares in radians now

>I googled the latex for the hypotenuse too and found nothing.
He is implying that he is the first to construct a triangle with a [math]2\pi[/math] hypotenuse, which is some next level delusion. The fact that he specifically wrote that line and that he posted it on a forum with accounts before posting it here (so he can use his account name to claim credit should his delusional power fantasy come to reality) is even sadder

user pls. The hypotenuse isn't 2pi.

fuck you're right, the leg, but the same still applies

>Anyway you can measure squares in radians now
Thanks, user.

pi-thagoras

You can look and look but you won't find one single Piangle

>a triangle with a specific side length
Why is this supposed to be impressive
What we should be talking about is my new discovery, the Pythagoriangle, which is a right triangle where one leg has length [math]x[/math] and the other leg has length [math]6.27374ex[/math]
It is quite interesting, NOBODY has invented this alternative triangle before. It is SIGNIFICANTLY RARER than the Pizza Pi Triangle (which OP flagrantly plagiarized from a Wendy's napkin where I discovered and defined it eight years ago).

Don't EVER reply to one of my posts again. This kind of chicanery will not fly with me.

B-but, a-a-user I-

But is your Pythagotriangle a circle too? Checkmate.

>what is calculus
Dude look at this page:

I said STOP IT. If you try to give me another (You) I will be forced to take action. Do not reply to me ever again. Reply to other posts and engage them instead. I want nothing to do with your nonsense.
No, because I don't need my discoveries to be some reddit meme shit like that. I went through that phase when I discovered the Pizza Pi Triangle in 2009; since then I have left that era of my life behind, and op would be remiss not to move on as well.

That guy doesn't give Piangles their proper credit

Wow its 2017 and someone finally discovered that the circumfrence of a circle is 2πr

KEK op's delusional power fantasy btfo

>op

why the homophobia?

That's a useful page, user, thank you.

>I said STOP IT.
B-but, a-user... t-the... e-e-evidence?!

This isn't funny anymore. You need to fucking cut it out right now. There are consequences for your goddamn actions. I know you think you're fucking hilarious but nobody is laughing.
DO. NOT. REPLY. TO. MY. POSTS.

You'll be competing for the noble prize with the inventor of the nactorial operation.

Until it has any mathematical or scientific use, this doesn't deserve a Nobel Prize.

B-but-... sc-scrabble!

I dont get it, you can make a right triangle out of two perpendicular lines of any length. So of course you could do this with the radius and circumference of a circle.

Or is this just advanced shitposting?

Yeah but you can transform a circle into a triangle this way. Theoretically you could even do it irl. It's only possible because the circumference is linearly proportional to the radius.

Just think about it, when you unroll a circle it becomes a triangle.

Right, but this is nothing special.

You can also unravel a hexagon into a triangle, and any other polygon.

This is counter-intuitive though since nobody expects that something round unravels into something rectangular.

If you don't see how it's interesting that a circle unrolls into a triangle then... I'm done.

I can't figure out what level of irony you're operating at, user

Yeah I'm legitimately curious on how to do it. Please someone come up with a real world solution.

>mathematics
>geometry
>Nobel Prize

top kek

>Where's the line for the Nobel Prize?

lol you don't know? You must have manure for your brains.

That isn't hard. All you need is like a roll of toilet paper without the tube.

Just cut this thing to the center and unroll it

Like has already been said this is not really new, still kinda cool though

>mfw the first 20 replies are this guy talking to himself

/thread

To be fair though, it's pretty lucky that the rings vary linearly in size. Otherwise his calculus would have just yielded a curvy triangle.

Alas, so would my method too.

>you can transform some shapes into other shapes
wow, truly amazed

Someone do a sphere

This.

If it works, I name it the PiBall

>do a sphere
for fucks sake it's just a rotated triangle
[math]A=\pi \int_-r^{0} (2\pi y)^2\ dy = \frac {4\pi^3r^3} {3}[/math]
it's not the same volume, you'd need a different method of slicing it

bounds were fucked up, [math]\pi \int_{-r}^0 (2\pi y)^2 dy[/math]

As this is also a retarded thread for retarded ideas what about a number system with base pi.

there would be a lot of non unique decimal values
in integer bases all we have to worry about is 0.9999... and 1, there are no other decimal representations of 1 than those two given

in non integer bases we have to deal with the fact that
4_10=(10.22012202112111030100…)_π
=(10.21320300121030000210…)_π
=(10.21313311212022122230…)_π

How would the root of 2 look like ? Or other irrationals? How would a trigonometric function look like ?

any non integer base would have an infinite amount of decimal representations, however some bases have a standard form

base phi, however, is an interesting one, and really the only one of any note.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio_base
see the non uniqueness section for how they determine standard form

Thank you for the link.

How is [math]4_{10}[/math] = [math]10.2..._{\pi}[/math]? That would mean [math]4_{10}[/math] = [math]10.2..._{\pi}[/math] > [math]10_{\pi}[/math] = [math]6.283..._{10}[/math]

10_pi = pi_10, remember that 4>=pi so it must be greater than 3.14_10

i think you accidentally thought pi was 2pi

Oh, I thought 1 base pi was pi base 10 for a second. Oops
