Not autistic.
calculus should be a prerequisite for all degrees,
>average IQ for mathematics STUDENTS is 133
should I kill myself now?
I did Physics and Maths and I call tell that average IQ is bullshit. Maybe it is the average self-perceived IQ though.
Material Sciences Engineer
Engineering

I've met 3rd year physics majors who don't understand basic calculus. But then again, at my university a lot of the physics majors are people who couldn't make it into CS or engineering.
>3rd year physics majors who don't understand basic calculus
This is impossible.
I literally had someone in electrodynamics ask me what a Taylor series was.
How? I thought physics requires a very profound and deep skill and that is mathematics. How can you be in your 3rd year and not even understand basic calculus??
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but at this level you can still plug and chug your way to a passing grade (although it wont get you an A, obviously).
Sorry I'm not from the US, so I can't know how it is there. But here there is no way you can even pass your first year physics without a very good understanding of calculus (not even basic calculus).
I mean, I don't doubt that every 3rd year physics major knows how to compute derivatives and basic integrals. What I mean when I say that they don't understand basic calculus is that they don't understand what derivatives actually are or what you're actually doing when you integrate something. I've met people who don't understand the correlation between integration and superposition.
I-I do law
What is superposition? Sounds like a DC supervillain.
>superposition and integration
>not linear combination and integration
fucking physics brainlets. even when it its all actually

No way biochem and orgo are in the same tier as biology. Either they move up (more likely) or bio moves down.
The thread was closed right here desu
to be fair, bio is so broad that plenty of it is on the level of coolness as biochem.
Really bio should be divided into its subfields. Neurobio, genetics, bioinformatics, bioengineering, biophysics are all great.
Mayyyyybe ecology can drop down a step.
best in what category? salary? IQ? quality of life?
where are my physics buddies at?
get on my level
t. chain rule phd
Where do you rate nuclear engineering?
Well im getting a degree in both, mechanical and nuclear engineering ,, would i be considered mid tier?

no explanation given
fuck you OP
Low IQ high salary, high quality of life: applied maths
High IQ low salary, low quality of life : engineering
Low IQ, low salary, low quality of life: lawyers
...

into the trash it goes.
Fuck yeah, chem e here

>lawyers and writers higher in IQ than computer scientists, engineers, natural scientists, ...
>social scientists at the same level as natural scientists
This should really trigger Veeky Forumstards and their obsession with being "high-IQ".
jesus fucking christ why is this board so retarded?
just because most high IQ people are working in X doesn't mean X is the highest IQ job on average
thats fucking basics of bayes theorem, educate yourself dumbfuck nigger and spread your retarded conclusions somewhere else
>1983-1996, aka the age where IQ tests were utter bullshit
>half of professions with sample size less than 40 and 80% with less than 100
Try again?
Nice strawman. I was actually responding to a post on the subject of "estimating" IQ based on GRE performance and I proved it was completely worthless.
You should read about IQ and how most people on IQ top lists are there solely because of "estimates".
>implying IQ tests have changed significantly since then
>meanwhile random "intelligence tests" made by nobodies have been shown to be as valid as IQ tests.
>implying IQ tests have changed significantly since then
they have radically changed, they were extremely biased even 15 years ago and measured mostly verbal intelligence, which arguably is not an intelligence
>meanwhile random "intelligence tests" made by nobodies have been shown to be as valid as IQ tests.
[by whom?]
>they were extremely biased even 15 years ago and measured mostly verbal intelligence, which arguably is not an intelligence.
Good joke. Tell that to the jews and to yourelf and idiots like you who can't reason semantically and analytically.
telegraph.co.uk
Jews :
>av. spatial IQs of 95
>av. verbal IQs of 125
>0.2% of world population
>22.5% of nobel prize winners
Asians :
>av. spatial IQ 106
>av. verbal IQ 96
>25% of population
>practically no nobel prize winners
Nonverbal "intelligence" is a meme and is just glorified short-term memory + spatial imagination capacity.
I don't quite understand what your physics program is like. In my program, we are required to hand in problem sets. If you don't know calculus by the time exams roll around, you're fucked.
I don't know about the specific program, but in my experience, Physics classes often go into way more depth than engineering or computer science courses. A physics major often has to program and perform engineering tasks.
