Did you like My Twisted World?

Did you like My Twisted World?

Is it an unironically good read?

It's not great literature, but it represents such a real attitude of modern young men that's such a big problem it's essential to read.

The part where he listens to his sister have sex was kind of funny but he's also a GoT loving pleb so I wouldn't recommend it.

>unpublished
Garbage

>a real attitude of modern young men
Nah, it's more like a parody of modern young men. Read it as a satire and it is decent read. It's also hilarious as all hell until you realize that the dude actually killed people.

>Nah, it's more like a parody of modern young men

You're part of the problem if you don't take these things seriously.

>Hey I'm going to kill people, can you publish my manifesto?
memes go 2 far

If he didn't do what he did I wouldn't have made it ten pages in. He's boring. He repeats himself endlessly! It really highlights the use of a good editor.

But I read the whole thing. Mostly out of morbid curiosity.

Can you read this without being put on a list?

Turns out someone who refuses to address issues with their life also doesn't address issues with their writing

I hate to break it to ya, but everyone here is on a list.

yeah, a list of biggest losers lmao

All the excepts I've read of it seem incredibly funny to me. It's like the funny bits of American Psycho, but even more outrageous because it's all sincere.

Is the whole manifesto like the funny parts, or does it get tedious at points?

I guess that's why I cant buy an airline ticket anymore.

People like you is why any a lot of literature isn't taken seriously.

End your life like your idol elliot BUT without hurting anyone else you fucking scum

This is probably the stupidest post to make me actually laugh out loud in a while

Topkek
Aaah the memes make me forget for a sad moment

>no posthumous recognition
Double garbage

The first part is boring, a lot of dry historic accounts. But then it gets better. Kinda like the Bible.

It's really repetitive but fucking hilarious at some points until you realise he actually killed people. Watch some of his youtube vids- it's basically the same shit in book form.

Molymeme's nearly 3 hour breakdown of the entire manifesto is a good watch if you're interested in the entire thing but can't bring yourself to trudge through the boring bits.

good post

Not him but you don't have to sympathise with Eliott to think that his attitude towards women and sex and all that is a problem among some young men today.

It's transcendent

You are genuinely autistic. I'm sorry.

It is anything but a good read. Elliot was a retard who couldn't lower his standards and wasted money on stupid fucking clothes.

>I am Elliot Rodger… Magnificent, glorious, supreme, eminent… Divine! I am the closest thing there is
to a living god. Humanity is a disgusting, depraved, and evil species. It is my purpose to punish them all. I
will purify the world of everything that is wrong with it. On the Day of Retribution, I will truly be a
powerful god, punishing everyone I deem to be impure and depraved.

It is unbearable to read and consists of constant repition
>WAHH WOMEN ARE EVIL I'M SO GREAT WHY DON'T I HAVE A GF?
>WHY CAN'T 10/10 WOMEN COME UP AND TALK TO ME, A 5/10 SHORT ASIAN GUY

He was a closet fag who hated himself for it. Could have been drowning in puss if he wanted to.

Problem is on both ends. Men refuse to improve and women refuse to settle.

>hurr it's bad because it's the autobiography of a megalomaniac
Nigger, do you know how many novelists try to arrive to what Rodger sincerely achieved?

It's really good. It would be considered the novel of the century if it was fiction.

I loved it. Like a weird cross between Adrian Mole and American Psycho

Magnificient.

we should release a Veeky Forums- edited edition

It conveys the inner workings of another human being and thus, as ugly and poorly written as it may be, has literary value.

There is only one (((problem)))

Yes ---> (You)

>He was a closet fag who hated himself for it. Could have been drowning in puss if he wanted to.

ppl say the same thing about me, and it's not really true

when chicks give me their numbers i put them in my phone but then never text them or call them, so i probably look queer as fuck, i don't know, fucking chicks is just such a chore

>3 hour breakdown

Man, it's faster to read the entire book (only 140 pages), so what's the point?

It's only a bit short of 2 hours, personally I don't read that fast so having the key bits read in a couple of hours is pretty helpful.

I wish they released an audio book of this.

>Eliott to think that his attitude towards women and sex and all that is a problem among some young men today.

defiitely. Way too many young men romanticize women. They really aren't wroth the effort.

I liked reading it because I've never read anything on such a level outside of the shitposts on this site. Are there any books where the character sees themselves as a god and tries to punish others?

Go play Hatred.

:^)

if you want to read the scribblings of some autist who blames everyone else for his inability to get laid, go ahead. it's garbage, though.

Jokes and overhyping aside it's a pretty okay manga.

it's banned in my country
i dont like chinese comics

There is on youtube

I think it is the "book of our generation" or zeitgeist novel or whatever it is people are waiting for. It was really great.

>it's banned in my country
What does that mean?

Will you rot in jail for playing it? Or it just can't be sold there?

If it's the latter, pirate it. If it's the former, topple the government.

Literally read it yesterday after it was mentioned in "what are you thinking" thread.
Its extemenly interesting. Its not necessarily well written but it sure is captivating.
I wanted to yell at him the whole time "THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS YOU IDIOT"
He blamed everyone else for his own problems. He hated women for "denying" him sex, but never made an attempt to talk to them, assuming they would cruelly reject him. He was an entitled little brat who thought his mom was selfish for not marrying a rich guy to make his life better. As someone else said, he expected girls to just throw themselves at him without any conversation just because hes so fabulous.
Very interesting read honestly, i loved the sincerity,
Im not sure if he was actually gay or just iffeminate. He didnt hold back in the book, even from embarassing things, so idk if he had latent gay feelings. He seems gay as fuck in the videos.
Also he wouldnt settle for anything less than 10, and contantly critized his ugly roomate for getting ugly girls.
Also he was convinced that getting rich would solve his problem even tho he drove a BMW, wore 300 dollar shirts, and dicked around in college for years despite never working, he didnt realize he was rich, compared to 90% of the world.
Narcissistic, hateful, racist, entitled, misogynistic megalomaniac.
10/10 would read again

I always read it at the time of the year, my favourite character is James Ellis, I wonder how he is doing now, if he managed to get a girlfriend and lose his virginity. In a way, he was the anti-Elliot, a virgin who kept his sanity and tried to save his friend until it was too late.

Also, if you read closely, you can actually pin point the exact moment Elliot went insane.

It gets a bit slow at parts because he literally includes every thing he can rememeber and and its not all 100% relevant, especially the beginning. But its not so long that the tedium ruins it. Its a quick read either way.

Him and addison were interesting. James, like you said, managed to stay sane and not blame the women.
Addison (apparently) was the only person to see him for what he was.
I found it strange that he kept hanging with addison even after he became and "enemy" and said nobody would ever fuck him.
i think elliot admired addison. Not only could addison see elliot for what he was, but he had also been a virgin that could "escape" that fate and become popular. Elliot wanted to achieve what addison had

>he read like 5 books and decided he was better than literally everyone else
Jesus, what a tard

Virgins of lit, do you ever feel like you are unfairly treated? Like elliot? Obviously not driven to murder but do you sympathize even a little, and blame others? Or do you blame yourself for your continual virginity?

what fascinates me is the lack of advises from the father. I think to be a father means to be an irrevocable beta who can only turn the sons into betas

>you don't have to sympathise with Eliott to think that his attitude towards women and sex and all that is a problem among some young men today.

but Elliot was right about everything

Originally blamed myself. Later, blamed them. Then, blamed myself again somehow, but more like "I choose not to even try".

By which I mean, at some point, I stopped giving a fuck. 3DPD. Trying to fuck bitches is a chore. My hand is good enough.

Well virginity isvery well since I do not value girls. I also utterly understand all those men who crave being noticed by girls while claiming that ''it is the girls who crave attention, not men'' whereas it is exactly the opposite. Men are meant to impress and parade, which leads to resentment and doubt once they are rejected. I am super glad to avoid naturally all this shit. It is also stupid to change this, since men do not even listen and women do not want to change it.

Yea there wasnt a lot I sympathized with while reading but I did agree that the dad wasnt an active enough father. He let the step mom have too much authority in his own sons life (assuming we can trust elliots account of the events). The father seemed weak.
I also sympathized with escaping real life problems via videogame addiction, been there done that. WoW specifically too

i'm not a virgin but i definitely don't get laid as much as i "should", so i sympathize with rodgers because if you look good but don't have a chad personality to go with it everyone thinks you are either a fag or some kind of asshole, etc. which just makes you more anti-social, hard to get out of it...

on the other hand, the brilliant part of My Twisted World is that he never once talks to a girl, did he ever try to get with a girl and get rejected? the closest i remember was he smiled at some girls like a creep out of his bmw and got mad when they didn't ... idk blow him instantly? but i also related with the time he dropped a class because it was filled with chads and staceys flirting up the place, idk, it's a relevant book and worth reading

I blame myself and my parents.

Non-virgin of Veeky Forums just swooping in to say that sex is not nearly as great as most virgins expect it to be. Your first time will be awkward and it might take years before you're any good at it, not to mention every girl has her own quirks, so random sex ends up being awful 90% of the time. Even when you do put in the effort to have a good sex life with someone, it is still sweaty and tiring, and in my experience not nearly as fulfilling as reading a good novel or writing something of your own. I'm not celibate, and if I had a girlfriend right now that might be nice, but in the long run, a good sex life means choosing a bunch of fun hours (having sex every day) over self-advancement through reading and writing books. Don't be too saddo about being a virgin. Biggest spook of all.

come back in 2 years and tell us your stories of all the girls you met
Can this please not be turned into a thread?

>Can this please not be turned into a thread?

>thread is about Elliot Rodger
>please don't be /r9k/ thred

user, u r kray kray

false dichotomies. also, did it ever strike you that you might just be bad at sex and/or not capable of enjoying it for independent reasons.

I do subscribe to the spirit of your argument though. Don't think about sex too much lads, pursue things that interest you and be sure to share them with the ladies (or men).

>Can this please not be turned into a thread?
But he's right.
For what it's worth, it's not society's fault that men are virgins in their 20s or 30s, but it's absolutely society's fault that those men feel bad about themselves as virgins and not people incapable of entering and maintaining relationships.

It's an absurd satire. It almost feels like Dr. Strangelove.

Then you realize it's actually real and how this guy was really thinking.

Makes me think that people on /r9k/ might not be ironical.

I noticed that too.
He had a few oppurtunities to talk to girls, like at the court, but never tried cuz of fear of rejection.
He literally thought that girls were supposed to come up to him, out of nowhere, and say "want to be my boyfriend?".
My friend is a solid 10 chad and even he doesnt get girls staring at him and running up to him everywhere he goes. You gotta make a move (when he does make a move it works, but still)
Also i think that even if elliot somehow got a girlfriend, he wouldve murdered her due to some percieved slight such as perhaps glancing at another guy or sitting next to a male in a class.
He claimed having a GF wouldve saved him but it wouldve just given him a focus for his jealous and rage

>it's absolutely society's fault that those men feel bad about themselves

What's wrong with what I said?
