University of Toronto math

So I just got accepted to u of t's math program. Any of you guys going there? Does the math specalist option look like a good program?

Prepare to be pajeeted

kek

I applied to this program and I still haven't heard anything from them. You applied to UTSG, right? What's your final English grade?

Ya. My first semester eng grade was a 96

ffs I got 82%. Everyone keeps telling me I'll get in just fine with that grade but I'm doubtful that I will. I fucked up

Fuck off square head

>UofT math
You're going to hate yourself, but you probably already hate yourself so I guess it won't be much of a change

Why would that be? Is it that hard?

Not sure how difficult it is to get into u of t but i heard they give out their admissions over a long period of time, so they might just tell you later.

I did math at mcgill. My lil bro is now doing Math at U of T. It seems easier than McGill desu so you should be fine.

Math specialist program at UTSG is harder than McGill without a doubt

I heard intro calc was a two term course

that's a fucking joke.

Toronto surpasses McGill in rankings only because of funding, like 50% of Mcgill Students are french citizens who pay CAD $2000/yr. McGill is noticeably more difficult than UofT across the board.

I heard it's anglo af, there's like no français

it is compared to UQAM or UdeM. They're all basically Anglo people who have a french parent.

Did math at UofT. Was easy if you aren’t brainlet. Enjoy MAT257, it’s the attrition course.

what subject? Calc?

Take a look at the math specialist program at UTSG. Then take a look at McGill's math program, and you will see my point. Your brother is just smarter than you

I'm currently doing a bachelor in maths at UdeM and I'm considering doing at masters in maths next year at McGill, is this a good idea? I'm a french dude

U of T Chem alum here.

You just made the biggest mistake of your life kid.

I went and checked out the UoT chem department before I started grad school. You guys seemed pretty set. Ended up choosing UBC because I liked the research more

>Spoke with Mark Nitz over the phone for months
>He was really stoked about having me in his lab, helped me write my NSERC proposal
>Pulled strings to get me a really nice funding package on top of it
>I ended up taking my NSERC to UBC at the last second
>He comes to UBC a month later to give a talk, we made eye contact

F-FUCC HE'S SO NICE BUT I HAD TO DO IT

Ronald Kluger was pretty annoying to talk to, Andrei Yudin held his liquor really impressively

How so

Trashfire school. Don't believe the hype.

Mind going further? I've heard stories about students being depressed because it's so difficult to get a good GPA, is it true?

Yes. You'll be competing with cheating Chinese kids and cheating Indian kids.
