Yes

So desu ne

dostedt

Yeah, but try telling that to my retard of a wife

I don't like the word "meme", but yes, they are a fad. I've never had a cup of any brand of coffee from one of those shit machines that tasted decent.
Last March, we stayed in a "fine" hotel, the room was almost $1000 a night, and it was just one of their mid tier rooms. They had a stupid fucking pod machine with "local, gourmet" coffee pods, and it still tasted like shit. So, I ended up ordering room service so I could get actual coffee service with decent coffee.

Completely, especially since I have a pot a morning habit not a kcup a morning habit.

Define "meme".

They're nice if you're lazy and just want an infusion of caffeine first thing in the morning before the parts of your brain capable of brewing a regular cup of coffee have woken up, or if you're just in a hurry.

they're fine if you just wanna show off or you drink cofee but not enough to always brew a pot

plus, i've been seeing these lately, and these seems far more impressive than the krueig type machines

They're way better for a corporate setting than other coffee makers. No more fighting about who makes the next pot, no more leaving grounds over the weekend, just the same mediocre cup of coffee you were getting without all the fuss. Big improvement.

1000$ a night? Is that USD? Just curious, never seen one that high. Is that London or NYC maybe?

Vegas. It was all comped

Literally the only reason they are popular is because they're mostly idiot proof.

in this context, it just means overhyped, popular but with no substance to back it

The fuck place is mid-end for $1k a night? Wynn is only $400 tops on the weekend for a bretty good room.

High roller for those comps?

>They had a stupid fucking pod machine with "local, gourmet" coffee pods, and it still tasted like shit. So, I ended up ordering room service so I could get actual coffee service with decent coffee.
>so I could get actual coffee service with decent coffee.
>actual coffee service with decent coffee.
>actual coffee service
>decent coffee
You know they just used the pod machine downstairs and just served you that, right? Fucking hipster.

It was comped, casions tell retards that it's some exorbitant bs price so they don't feel as bad when they blow $5k on blackjack

No, San Francisco.

No, they didn't, because they did the brew process in the room on the cart. I ordered "coffee service", which isn't the same as just having them bring you a pot of coffee. That's why they put those shit machines in the room.

See

Flavia coffee is much worse than Keurig. It's worse than instant. It's remarkable that offices actually buy this pile of shit. It'd be better just to get several keurigs or $1000 worth of instant coffee.

I don't gamble, except occasionally on horses. Casinos are trashy and unpleasant.

Ah. Gotcha. I travel to Vegas for business. Usually only throw a couple hundred on the tables.

If you are what I call a utilitarian drinker(main purpose is the caffeine) then absolutely not they are great. I'm not a coffee nazi so I love having one.

The work well for me since I only drink a cup or two of coffeea day and I'm the only one in my apartment that drinks coffee at all. A regular drip pot or a French press would probably be my go-to if I was sharing it with my roommates. However my Keurig works just fine, usually produces a decent brew when loaded with a quality capsule, and can be used to make hot water for tea very quickly as well. The only meme here is hot-beverage elitism.

Yes
>Meme
>Can't Recycle
>Not cost efficient

>when you're too lazy to even brew coffee, so you poison the environment for a bit more convenience.

...

It's horribly a expensive and inefficient device to just make one cup of coffee.
You can get an aeropress for $30 or a stainless steel drip filter for $5 at the Chinese grocery if you're a one cup drinker.

You can get single serving size french presses

We have one of those semi professional coffee machines at home. Have to feed it beans and water and it makes coffee. Besides it wanting to clean itself for a few minutes a day it's damn good coffee. Expensive though.

The price hes stating is this imaginary "maximum" price required to be posted on the inside of the door in nevada...part of their regulations coving inn- keepers. They NEVER charge that price...i suppose they could for special events and high demand but i never saw it. When i was there our rooms were posted at something like $600 but we never paid more than $80

No, I need one cup fast and don't want to wake up early enough to do it right. Putting ground coffee in the night before is for dumbasses that acquired a taste for stale coffee.

we like those at work. people always want to know which one youe did. it's annoying. the end.

I still don't understand how they managed to convince people that a wasteful coffee system would be an ideal thing to have at home, the capsules are like 60 cents a cup, that's fucking expensive.

It's literally one less step compared with a traditional single serving drip coffee maker.

>he capsules are like 60 cents a cup, that's fucking expensive.
When you consider how much coffee starbucks and the ilk sell at $3 a cup, its a bargain for idiots.

It wasn't in Vegas, doesn't anyone read?

A meme is an element of culture passed between individuals by means of repetition, so no.

>work in an office, supposed to organize stuff
>can't organize how to use the fucking coffee machine
>mediocre cup of aluminum soaked coffee + chemicals @ 5 times cost= big improvement

Corporate logic

A very popular idea, that has no merit. Overrated idea, that is known for its popularity, and despite its lack of substance.

See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania for ye olden original meme.

I still don't understand how they convinced hipsters and "modern people" to use this system of coffee delivery, when it produces colossal amounts of plastic waste.
Think of how much polymers you are throwing away when each cup is individually packaged, as opposed to a paper package of beans you get from a plant rope sack at the store.

The pods create a shitload of unnecessary waste. Also you are seriously fucking retarded if you buy a capsule coffee machine. For a minimal amount of effort, you can have better coffee for a fraction of the price.
