This went well last time so let's do it again:

- Post a book (preferably one you would wish more people to read).

- Post a list of names.

- If your name is called, you need to read that book.

Let's get this thread going:
Dylan, Danielle, Daisy, Joshua, Jean, Gene, Jennifer, Jared, Leslie, Laurence, Robert, Brian, Joseph, Dara, Dana, Stanley. Pick up this book.

Victor
Vincent
Tyrone
Marlon

Not posting it for points in edginess, it's just genuinely a beautiful collection of stories.

what the fuck is the point in listing that many names? the thread will just die in moments

Those whose names are mentioned are supposed to read the book the poster chooses (usually it is shown as an attached pic).
Example, if your name is Joshua, you read Rashomon and Seventeen Other Stories, because that is the pic OP chose.

I wish people posted more female names

People always complain when their name is never called and the thread just turns into an image dumping ground.

At least if you call out multiple names, more people get involved and even take part in the thread.

We had a very popular one yesterday, user. Don't sweat it.

people always post multiple names anyway calm your shitt nigaa

Sweet. Thanks for the excuse OP. Ive heard nice things about Rashōmon.
Happy reading, anons!

Lol nobody ever reads because of this people just like to see their name.

I genuinely think not enough people on Veeky Forums have read this despite it being essential baby's first lit-core. It's less horror and more about the virtues of love and friendship, although it gets a bit spooky too.

This book is reserved for: Jim, James, Michael, Michelle, Akira, Christopher, Noah, Arnold, Francois, Alfred, Jane, Terrence, Kenneth, Thibault, Jason, Harlan, Charles, Ruth, Barney.

speak for yourself, user, i add these books to my stacks anyway even if my name isn't mentioned

> tfw nobody will ever mention your name despite how common it is nowadays

It's often just the same Daniels and Davids...

>tfw my name wasn't called but I'll read it anyways

Wow good job you added a book to your stack you will never read.

I know you're trying to be confrontational and contrarian, and that's fine, whatever you need to do to kill some time, but there are people here who do enjoy reading, despite how many people shitpost.

malcolm, martin, spike, denzel, elijah and mohammad should read this

(sort of memeing but if anyone is actually called these here then actually read this and don't be a pussy about it, his stories about his childhood, prison, mecca and elijah mohammad being a sleaze are pretty interesting and he drops his conspiratorial beliefs towards the end of the book too)

Already read it but can recommend, everyone loves Mina Harker and it's genuinely heartwarming.

Jackson, Dylan, Jakob, Justin, Jared, Hillary, Sarah, Sophia, Ethan, Nate and Mason

I think it makes it more appealing. It's bright and pretty.

Going to try and call out a couple of very common Western names that should read Don Quixote.

Liam, Peter, Katie, Thomas, Mark, Luke, Mike, Stuart, George, Cameron, Craig, Gregory, Joel, Shaun, Nicola, Gary.

Agreed. Although I love the original book, I can't pass up cutesy manga art done well.

Sylvia

PUT YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE OVEN

im listening to the antlers now and that part where he goes SYYYYYYLLLVVVIIIIIIIAAAA is kinda the only reason i mentioned the name

Have a double name, never gets called obviously

First half's John. I'll read whatever the person who can guess the second half suggests.

If it has the original text, then I don't see a problem with the Japanese style illustration.

John-William?
John-Joseph?
John-James?
John-Wayne?
John-Sebastian?

Am I even close, user

john paul?

>have a non-biblical name
>never get called
Anyway, I'd like to recommend this book to any Stephens or Stefans, who come across this post.

Great book by the way

The Bible

End this place of degeneracy and come into the Light of the God.

Joseph?
It really is a great book, but it made me collect books and data in a hoarder manner. Now I want to pile value for some reason, and I sometimes wonder what would they think of the shelf if they were to dig it out after an apocalypse.

I was planning on re-reading it actually. I think i'm gonna do it soon

First of all, I'll presume you're brazillian. Because that's a thing we do here.
John Robert.
John Victor.
John Mary.
John August.
John John.
If I'm right read Jealousy by Grillet.

Mate, where were you the other day?? I made a thread about Runaway Horses and literally nobody replied. It made me feel sad and like I don't want to start discussions about books anymore :(

I want to read it because i like Mann a lot, but it's so fucking long. I don't know if i want to read a heavily reigious 2000 pages book. It'd overwhelming

You just have to be in the mood for it.
I wasn't when I tried, and I didn't finish it, but what I can tell, is that the biblical theme is very well executed, and that the prose is great.
My teacher told me once that Mann writes in a way that suggest he wants to write a novella but he keeps going on, and he doesn't stop well until it's two volumes long.

Sorry to hear that, man. The amount people talk about Mishima here you would think they read his tetralogy.

Looks neat desu. Thanks for the lead, user.
>tfw your name manages to get dropped twice in one thread

That's certainly truth for The Magic Mountain. It apparently started as a novella. I doubt it would have worked well as a novella though

You should start name-dropping your own name around here from time to time and maybe someone will pick it up subconsciously? idk ;_;

I have never met another Alfred. Good read though.
