Whats a good cabbage based side dish? Im making lemon chicken tonight.

Kimchi, that takes time to make and wouldn't be ready if you want to eat it tonight. You could probably do cabbage rolls pretty quickly.

Rolled with what though? Id rather not put too much time into a side dish.
I was thinking about just sauteing the cabbage with onion, garlic, peppers and carrots.

Kåldolmar

Again, im looking for a side dish.

big pot blanche and then drizzle with browned butter

We always ate that as a side dish. Make fried cabbage or some haluski then. haluski might be a bit intensive though.

Coleslaw dicknigger

steamed or fried cabbage. Super easy and it tastes great.
Or slaw.
Or if you aren't lazy there's some eastern european/russian food that's like a spiced cabbage roll, they're fucking amazing probably 2 much prep for you

Cut up some cabbage into real thin slithers, put in a bowl with lots of olive oil, some balsamic vinegar, salt and some chilli flakes.

Maybe I’m weird but just plain boiled cabbage with maybe some black pepper is one of my favorite vegs.

savoy cabbage, braised in butter

I like to cut it into thin strips, add a ton of salt and some cayenne pepper and fry it.

Fuck cabbage

Is it possible to make kimchi without a zillion garlics?

Yes. Garlic is not essential to the process.

>Garlic is not essential to the process.
I don't understand what this string of random words means....

dill cabbage salad
>peel cabbage thin

fried cabbage
oil + onion + garlic + cabbage + salt + pepper + cayenne

Throw some tomato in that and you've got a great side.

I make something similar, my version of coleslaw without all the sugar or mayonaisse that retards for some reason insist on adding.

Slice or grate carrots and cabbage, udually red cabbage, salt a bit, squish it around like when making sauerkraut, then drain the liquid and replace with cane vinegar. Soemtimes I'd throw in onion with it too, or fresh ginger. Goes great on pulled pork sandwiches.

OP best bet is make sauerkraut, but hope you've got a month until you need it lmao.

Also sometimes I'll just chop up the cabbage, toss it in a skillet with some olive oil or whatever to fry it a bit, then toss in red pepper flakes and some sesame oil. Tastes good and easy.

Holy fuck are those Brazilian Brussels Sprouts?

They're huge.

I ended up just sauteing cabbage, carrot, onion and chilis.
Your suggestions sucked.

Lol wut?

>I ended up just sauteing cabbage,
so you live south of the mason dixon line?

How about coleslaw? That's cabbage based.

Yeah yeah, someone already posted it and I didn't notice. I looked, I missed it.
