I do not have a good view over coding as a whole. My primary exposure to coding is related to electronics manufacturing where coding is used to program ATEs for testing electronic subassemblies. A need for coders will follow electronic manufacturing for the foreseeable future. Periodic geographic relocation is likely if you plan to stay in the field for an extended period as the ebbs and flows of industry wash across the country/world.

Please, forgive my nihilism - if you look at this site as a consumable commodity then keep in mind that the benefit that the site gave to the overall body politic during Gamergate outweighs the damage that the site incurred. I say this not out of selfish pride but as an objective observer because I was not involved with Veeky Forums in any manner at the time. The truth filled the air at the time largely because of work that was done here. The damage done was far from fatal and the site can most likely mature, grow, and improve from here.
