Hi Veeky Forums. Robot from /r9k/ here, and I'm a first time poster so don't bite.

I plan to make spaghetti aglio olio with bacon. Gonna get some nice sour dough bread on the side too.

However I feel this isn't much of a full dinner. I suspect me and my family would be hungry after it. Is there anything else I can cook or have to go with it that would fill everyone up?

What sort of things do people eat with it?

A salad. Even just some rocket leaves would be good.

like could I just buy a store bought salad bag?

Also I've had salads that are coated in nice things like olive oil and balsalmic vinegar or something? Is that what I should do?

Yeah but that spaghetti dish is really simple. Its just pasta and garlic pretty much.

Salad is a much more complex operation.

You should get a head (or two) of butter lettuce.
some fines herbs (chives, italian parsley, tarragon, chervil)
If you can't find chervil then dont worry about it. Only use fresh herbs.
Season the fucking leaves with salt. SEASON WITH SALT!

Now for a vinaigrette:
1 part dijon mustard
2 parts red wine vinegar
3 parts canola oil (or olive)

You can also add finely chopped shallots to this.
Throw it all in a jar with a lid and shake the fuck out of it until it looks like it's together.

You pick which veggies and dressing you want then chop the shit up, Jesus Christ you're fucking stupid as hell
