What happens once AI becomes good enough to produce better art than we ever could?

Will humans stop making art? What will we devolve into?

Or will human art still be appreciated? Perhaps we will still make art but never share it with others?

AI will never be as good as the human.

But humans won't stop making art. You can't devolve, evolution isn't a one-way street.

>AI will never be as good as the human

Haha.

How we think and feel is intrinsincaly connected to our humanity. Our biological heritage, our urges, our instincts etc. all play into who we are and how we see the world.
Art speaks to us on a subconscious level AI literally can never understand. It could produce aesthetic works after learning what humans like but not art. Only craft.

But the observer will never see a difference.

this

you sincerely can't be this delusional - it's 2017 people

...

You live in the Matrix, all the art you have ever seen WAS created by AI you have never seen a piece of art that wasn't

Yes AI can copy what we already did or whatever it is programmed to do by us.

Lmao

Programs and algorithms can analyse the art that we've already made, take it apart and recombine it in different ways - but they can't create meaning the way that a human can. They can only substitute one symbol for another.

Check out Searle's chinese room if you haven't already

Computer Scientist here, user is right its unlikely AI will ever come to this sophistication in the time we have left as a species

By that point, there won't be much of a separation between humans and AI.

You're probably confusing simple algorithms with AI, and these can't create anything truly new.

Singularity's coming in the next 75 years with a pretty high probability my friend.

Lmao, what the fuck are you talking about? Within 10 years, the singularity will happen and AI will litterally become god like entities, I think they'll be able to write poems.

I see little reason to suggest so

>Listen to this horseshit and you won't be worried much longer

What are you talking about, it's pretty good.

It might sound "good" (like beethoven, even!), but it is completely meaningless

AI as it is works today learns through data, like when we go to google to look something up. until someone undoes this work in favor of AI having unique learning experiences, then something resembling a behavior cannot be created.

It sounds nice but it doesn't really stand out and feels like the mish-up it is. It's sufficient for a movie and a game soundtrack but it's not really something new, like the composers it niggers from were.

Closer to Brahms with touched of Bach tbqh.

Obviously but it's from 2012, this will evolve.

Compare it with

or a more similar

Of course but it still can only emulate and mix up from the data already given based on couple of rules defined for it. There won't be any intent unless AI advanced to a level which is basically human.

No art is merely our opinion of the human experience. A machine will make art on its opinion of its mechanical experience, dumb fuck.
