oh man thinking about it that would be really sad. without all those interesting life stories he's just some fat guy who's funny the first few minutes you hear him rant about something. the sad part is you're likely correct in your assumption. poor Joey.

That's because he continuously frames the conversation. He chooses the lead in's, he introduces suggestions that are meant to lead into digressions, and his interruptions always seem pleasant. He's so insecure around other comedians that his frames are constant, but you probably don't notice because he is trying to make himself laugh - which is the reason I like the guy. It's just when he does this with People of Learning that his insecurity can sometimes be annoying because he forgets to be humble, forgets that he doesn't have to prove himself in that moment, that he would seem stronger and wise if he were sincere in wanting to learn.

It's interesting analysing him over a long span of time just so as to understand contemporary type character everywhere that are his meme offspring. These are the TRP dudes that most Veeky Forumstles must literally-or is it figuratively-destroy, deconstruct, overcome to win at the game. Being funny, being humble is their only saving grace.

His entire shtick is that he's either funnier, smarter or is able to beat up his guest. He's also an unfunny moron who would lose to flyweights.

It isn't worth listening just for him but he has on interesting guests sometimes.

I didn't mean over analyzing in that you're analyzing Joe Rogan - over analyzing in that analyzing people and things is best done with a double edged sword; to analyze the subject and then analyze your own analysis.
