Heidegger is notorious for being difficult. One of the problem is he uses terminology throughout his work that he has yet to define (not to mention he invented much of those terms himself). Thinking of Being and Time in particular, it's almost best to push yourself though it the first time, then go back and reread it to actually apply the things you picked up the first time through. I'm lucky I had a talented Heidegger scholar for a professor.
