Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson, and Jack Kerouac

THE PLEB TRIO

Bukowski and Kerouac are incredibly overrated

Thompson is a journalist first and foremost and should be treated as such

Kerouac gave me some solid hiking tips.

Kerouac is so comfy though. He's perfect for rainy days when you're rolled up inside a blanket while chilling in a candle-lit room.

Comfiest book of his??

They're the edgy "I'm a poet" manbun type who drinks bourbon because he wants to be hard trio. There's other really plebby writers who are adored despite not deserving it, both those three attract a very specific kind of crowd. The kinda people who think wearing military suplus coats from the 60's and 70's makes them cool.

>both those three

lol gay

accurate

Dharma Bums imo

Hunter Thompson is the only one out of those who could write. Some of the best American prose you'll find. Ignore the "muh gonzo journalist" types and read him for what he was: a fucking American.

Veeky Forums would love kerouac if they actually understood him, instead of their perception being conditioned by his misappropriation by two-bit hipsters.

I enjoyed The Rum Diaries but haven't read anything else

Thompson has some good stuff.

Bukowski has some decent poetry if you dig through the shit.

thompson's too good for the other two

Not a manbun craft beer guy, but I do wear military jackets, and I do like Bukowski...

H-help me user

Read Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72. It's fantastic.

fucking plebs

underrated post

On the Road is his most accessible and instantly satisfying. Start with that.

Yeah. My boyfriend's Veeky Forums af too, bitchnigga.

Hey now, that's not very nice to say now is it?
