I thought Outliers was super fun, fight me nerd.

If that is your goal, good to you

>peter singer
>sam harris
>noam chomsky in a conversation not about language
>alain de botton
>thomas friedman
>talks about information from a new yorker article
>talks about information from an npr podcast
>daniel dennett
>richard dawkins
>jared diamond

>richard dawkins
I dislike the guy, but have seen his books cited even in biology textbooks
If you only read Dawkins and no other biologists that's a bad sign surely

>this is what america will look like in 2050 and it is beautiful!

>Having conversations about language
ew

Dawkins is a legit evolutionists biologist. I think that the Selfish Gene is one of the most cited books in the field

>18-24 years old reading crime and punishment
The surest sign of a pseud

I enjoyed de Botton's lectures on Proust. Come at me bro.

Peterson will make that more common. Book sales of Jung probably already went up.

whats the correct age to read it then

Crime and Punishment is a masterpiece, why is it pseud material?

Feels good man

I had a friend in high school who went on to do engineering at one of the most prestigious schools in the United States. He graduated with highest honors, I know for a fact his IQ was literally at the genius level, and he swore by Malcolm Gladwell's ten thousand hour rule. He also was huge fan of Macklemore and Ayn Rand

I don't think intelligence has anything to do with taste whatsoever. In fact I think unintelligent people often use their taste in media as a way to feign smarts in lieu of any actual intellectual accomplishments

You are correct but um... where's the fun in my thread now!?

Though what I tried to imply is that Malcolm writes fairy tales. Fairy tales inspired by scientific research, but fairy tales nonetheless. It is not just about taste.
But to know it are fairy tales you either have to know the research or know the critique against Malcolm, no IQ needed really.

>engineering
epic computing bro, must have been soo intelligent

just mix my shit up
