Drastic change of Islamic civilization and education and its failure to modernize. This failure has been seen by many within the Islamic world as having allowed Western powers to acquire a disastrous position of dominance over those regions.[1]
For centuries, the world of Islam was in the forefront of human achievement -- the foremost military and economic power in the world, the leader in the arts and sciences of civilization. Christian Europe was seen as an outer darkness of barbarism and unbelief from which there was nothing to learn or to fear. And then everything changed. The West won victory after victory, first on the battlefield and then in the marketplace.[2]
>failed to modernize failing to get advanced science, which pollutes cities, makes shitty gmo food, factory farming, and then provides the "treatment" for when you get cancer, aids, depression, and kidney stones from living an unhealthy MSG + FLOURIDE lifestyle
failing to get giant, disgusting polluted cities, that all look alike and destroy men's souls. failing to get twerking tranny children parades. failing to get women and men competing for the same jobs. failing to get unsustainable birthrates failing to produce gigantic amounts of porn
Easton Hughes
At least education. Muslims underestimate knowledge so much and just too proud of their history --which is great-- and still think they have something to teach to the world --which is not--.
Alexander Ortiz
too many muzzies desu thats what went wrong
Daniel Howard
Get fucking rekt Pocahontas. Pre-industrial agriculture was never sustainable, take a look at what happened to the Mayans if you want to see where crop exhaustion was going to take the rest of the world. The fact of the progress of human history is we have to keep running on the thin ice or we sink.
Ayden Anderson
None of that is inherently tied to modernity tbqh. Except the woman part.
Samuel Rodriguez

They basically just transported Hindu mathematics to Europe and Greco-Roman technology to India and took all the credit for both
Xavier Gray
Yeah these kind of grandioise claims strike me as being the kind that pretend China doesnt exist and that the Arab armies of the Caliph conqured primitives
Robert Cox
No. The Arab conquerors inherited a vast treasure-trove of knowledge and infrastructure from the Roman provinces they conquered. They squandered both, destroying infrastructure and knowledge. What they didn't wreck was destroyed by the Mongols.
It took a fucking GREEK PAGAN to reintroduce Plato to Western Europe.
Josiah Robinson
>Numerals, algebra, hospitals, astronomy... Haha just kidding guys Deus Vult, darkies suck I'm really educated and mature haha

Arabs invented literally none of that shit

what went wrong is that CIA sponsored anti-communist extremist islamist groups during the Cold War and this is the result.
this also includes sponsoring Erdogan and Gulen's ideologies during the Cold War.
so in 2017 we have a Turkey with a heavily damaged secularism and democracy, millions of refugees, destroyed countries from Libya to Syria all over the region and worldwide islamist terrorism.
but at least we beat the commies! good job!
Adam Barnes
>but at least we beat the commies
You say that like its not a big deal. Middle East would be ten times the shithole it is now if the Commies took hold there like they did in SEA
Caleb Carter
>Nasser, Saddam, Assad,
worse than
>Muslim Brotherhood and ISIS
>Erdogan
worse than
>Left wing secular Kemalist Turkey
yeah middle east is much better now. wew lad.
Cameron Taylor
>Gaddafi
worse than
>religious libyan tribes and ISIS
good job brainlet

One leads to the other dipshit. You'll notice all the historically economically moderate countries are comparitively safe and stable
William Young
>historically economically moderate countries
doesn't even mean anything.
one doesn't lead to the other. a secular nationalist ideology doesn't lead to a religious extremist terror group. it's 100% foreign support and financial aid to Islamist ideologies in the region that caused this.
In countries such as Egypt, most women didn't even wear headscarf 40 years ago. In Turkey, headscraf was banned from public places such as universities. In Iraq, Islamist ideologies were treated quite rightly as terror ideologies.
All of these were countered by CIA activities and Western financial aid to Islamism.
Jayden Allen
Didn't Lewis and Edward Said have a big fight? Why is Lewis now defending Islam?
They wuz Persian and Indian kings tho.
Levi Brown
Lewis always had a more or less neutral view of Islam
Easton Myers
>numerals Muslims invented ‘numerals’? Roman numerals, Aztec numerals, Irish numerals, Chinese numerals? Since your talking about what we call ‘Arabic numerals’, a quick Google search wilould show you that Hindu Indians invented them but they found their way to Europe through the Arabs. >algebra Crediting then with investing algebra is very sketchy. All the mathematical symbols that make algebra useful were invented in Europe. Whatever, let’s give them algebra. >hospitals Retarded. >astronomy Super retarded.
Christopher James
islam is %90 catholic by now
Jacob Morales
its a misunderstanding of universalism. islam is all universal but not in the christian theological sense. it doesnt "need" to be complete like as in hegel, so thats why they think they already possess the universal, which is indeed a beginning step of a western absolutism when you look at it from hegelian pov.
for ex. the "universal" in islam accepts the bad, the filthy, the evil as included in the essence. there wasn't an ontological difference between good and evil, the difference(the need to get rid of the evil once and for all, which is the totality of western history) didn't exist at all. it's more forgiving than the christian "good" sense of universal. but now that they have a fucking imperial stance on things a la american(or colonial) universalism ey think they have the right to the absolute without it being the absolute good. its what you guys call moral relativism, pronounced as absolute state rule. (in the west this is at least directed towards the "good", not that it works well but still...)
Luis Moore
All of these are good things apart from unsustainable birthrates and your first paragraph is anprim-tier memes desu. Genetic modification makes food better, and you thinking shit things happen because of scientific progression doesn't mean they do happen because of scientific progression
Michael Miller
>All of these are good things
Adam Cooper
not even him, but how dare you use that meme when you wrote islamic communities failed to "get giant, disgusting polluted cities, that all look alike and destroy men's souls." fuck off you crypto commie. take your meme shit back to the other site
