>thanksgiving weekend
>not cozying up with a massive, impossible-to-hold-comfortably copy of Infinite Jest
WHAT on EARTH are you doing Veeky Forums??????
Thanksgiving weekend
Well, I finished it and gave my copy to my mom. She's probably p cozy with it now though.
cool well that's good, must be nice having a cool open-minded mom
my mom probably wouldn't even make it past part about waiting the buy the weed, she's a babby boomer. she would have absolutely no understanding of the shit
ive been fucking working you shit
>
>caring enough about your future to have a job
>being so desperately concerned with your immediate future that you have a menial shift-labor job which requires you to work holidays
tried to read Dickens to see if I could cheer up
I couldn't so here I am
someone kill me please
he says, under the comfy roof that mummy payed for.
not only are you a pussified faggot, but youre reading IJ. Lets see something youve written.
That sounds like the worst hell.
Balls deep in the Greeks as always desu
woah user this is exactly what i'm doing
but i'm not American so it's not a thanksgiving thing but rather end of university year
just started two days ago and about 100 pages in
the endnotes are pretty irritating desu
>WHAT on EARTH are you doing Veeky Forums??????
Reading other stuff since I read IJ back in September and don't see myself rereading it for at least another year.
You should really read it on Kindle, makes it much less annoying. the endnotes are just hyperlinks and there is a link at the end of the endnote to go page to the page you were on.
been curled up with my easily holdable copy of The Canterbury Tales
Reading Ulysses. Still 6 chapters more until I am finished. Somebody kill me
You can just stop. The rest is filler.
that's how I read A Supposedly Fun Thing That I'll Never Do Again and it was admittedly a much better experience, but for a book this mythic I just can't pass up reading it in all its great cumbersome-y physical-ness - no matter how annoying
Reading The Pale King, you pleb.
But I am doing that. Just read the chapter about Hal's grandpa.
Endnotes are the best part. Make sure you read the entire section on the father's filmography.
My mom started to read it when she was drunk on the way back from the casino. Fun times
>impossible-to-hold-comfortably
fuck off handlet
My version is quite small with biblically tiny print.
Not American. Read only mature literature.

Everyone in the world is American.
Lately whenever I come across some pathetic American band I do a web search for " david foster wallace". And always, without exception, the results include some interview where the band claims DFW as a major influence. The last band I tried this with was Pinegrove.
i comfied up with crime and punishment instead
god i need that badly
help guys i'm supposed to be reading infinite jest but i'm not wut do
I'm gonna need to see at least 3 more bands cite DFW as influential
LCD Soundsystem
Father John Misty
Just about to read the last 30 pages of IJ
Trippiest pages of the book, I really liked them
