Hobbies

Do you have any hobbies Veeky Forums? Surely you do other things than simply reading and/or writing.

My hobby involves going out at midnight and hobos.

Drawing and going to the gym.

Yeah, reporting nonliterature related post

Nope. Writing is the only thing I enjoy. Stuff like consuming media, socialising or traveling is just there to supply me with information.

You also like sharing your feelings on Veeky Forums it seems

>drawing

Must be nice. I'm pretty crap at it.

I should clarify that I made this thread in the hope of finding inspiration for shit I could do while listening to audiobooks in the background. I reckon that's something that could apply to any number of people here so let it be will ya.

Procrastination is hardly a hobby.

I got basketball. That's kinda like my major hobby. Other than that I do therapies sometimes. Not professional. Like giving an ear to the troubled souls and finding solutions with them. Kinda dumb but works with me.

Snowboarding, longboarding, rock climbing, hiking, archery and calisthenics

we are all shit at something when we first start out. If you dedicate hours to something then you will end up being really good at it eventually

I do actually have several drawing books and was getting better at it. Then uni started again so I stopped. I'll get back to it.

I like going to fighting game tournaments.

Basic carpentry, HF radio/antennas, tinkering with combustion engines.

do you also enjoy cocksucking?

Used to do sports, now I watch sports.

hoop

You sound like my ex-gf

I think im the only person here that plays poker

You're retarded. It's pretty popular

/ic/ has an artbook thread every now and then. You should take a look if you need some artbooks.

I play the piano, that's about it

>tfw no scene

art desu
and i know it's terrible but making it is comfy

Gym and playing Hearthstone.
I also have a degree in film although I don't really do any film shit anymore.
Pro-tip: Don't go into academic film studies.

i've played the piano for 14 years, working on scriabin sonata 4 currently and played the first three faure impromptus at my last recital.

kinda wanna do the same, i picked up tekken 7 on a whim after not touching the series since i was a kid and it's been so much fun. very few of my friends play video games in general and even then it's mostly just dota and pubg.

lifting, running, cooking, drinking

don't cut yourself

>Surely you do other things than simply reading and/or writing.
Making some big assumptions over here.

Been playing tons of Hearthstone lately and I'm finally decent at it so I suppose card games could be my hobby, however I know I will drop it as soon as I get bored

I do some exercise when I feel like too, calisthenics are great

I wish I had more hobbies to account for, but I'm quite a boring person on that regard. Table tennis used to be my favorite thing to do, but I had no one to play with and I can't fit a table inside my house.
I'm about to start making House tunes when holidays start, but I don't know if I will stick with it though

Vidya, specifically crpg and grand strategy.

>Faure

Patrician guy here

I write essays on some of the books I read.
I also translate.

I enjoy riding my boyfriend's cocks and going on walks in nature/shower.

I too like to go for long walks in the shower.

I play guitar and collect things. I gave up serial-killing a few years ago. The thrill was gone.

I like your sense of humor user

>Pro-tip: Don't go into academic film studies.

OP here. Graduated 5 years ago with a film meme.

this but trade crpg for rts

guitar (shit at it just started), running. Just quit my job with no prospects and so much free time it be overwhelming

I like watching anime and certain movies but every time I do I tell myself I would be better off reading instead. I know it is a pretty shitty solution but if I really want to watch something I have to get drunk to enjoy it. I used to enjoy jogging and lifting as well but a leg injury left me unable to do that, but I am almost done with rehab so I am looking forward to getting back to exercising.

I know the feeling; I spent a year in English Literature but transferred into Law after I realised how much better it is to just research and study on your own. That first year was nice but not "burdened with college debt with no guaranteed job at the end" levels of nice.
I know quite a few artists and musicians who went on to get degrees in their fields and not a single one ever said it was beneficial to them.

Guitar, lifting, learning languages, & shitposting
>wish i had buddies to play chess with
>wish i had talent to do art
>wish i was autistic enough to enjoy vidya

laying in bed and feeling sorry for myself
refreshing the catalog

vidya, miniature painting, tabletop rpg

What I learned from this thread is that we're all quite boring.

Thinking of playing guitar if I find a way to make sure nobody else hears me play.
I really just want to play Cliffs of Dover, and not bother other people with my shittiness while I'm learning it.

>That feel when computers are better than every human at chess

Feels bad man. I want to love chess but now that I know our entire species isn't even the best anymore it's just dead to me.

Gym, vidya and guns, I've got 3 right now and saving up for a 4th (1920s Colt New Army Revolver)

I like birds.

...
Where's the front door?

>I made this thread in the hope of finding inspiration for shit I could do while listening to audiobooks
i knit, crochet, and cross stitch while listening to audiobooks. they're all productive things that you can do on auto-pilot once you get used to them.

You guys wanna elaborate a little?

I don't know if im going to pursue a degree in film (in college right now), but am considering it because I want to go into the film industry. That said, it sounds like trying to go into film is not only plugging away countless hours at shitty intro jobs and even then only a small hope of making your way up the ladder.

Good choice.

Languages, drawing. I'm pretty bad at both.
I really need to try some new stuff.

Shitposting and old rpgs

>learning German
>reading
>considering picking up drawing and playing guitar
>might go volunteer at a homeless shelter semi-regularly

ever since giving up video games and masturbating, theres too much free time in the day.

ouch

i tutor immigrants in ESL and help out on a community garden. been trying to go to more plays and musical performances. involved in local politics, specifically groups dealing with housing and law enforcement and the city council. go to NA meetings semi-regularly although ironically enough they make me want to go back to heroin. explore state and county park areas, hiking. occasional psychedelic trips. casual sex with strange women to get over my habit of developing overwhelming feelings for anything i put my dick in. playing pool. kratom collection/consumption. working door at a local music venue.

>You guys wanna elaborate a little?

Not sure how because I don't have experience in the industry proper. I worked in a nice, little independent cinema for two years after I graduated. I also recently worked as a marketing assistant intern for a film festival.

Did I need a film degree to achieve that? No. It helps to have a solid interest in film but you don't need a degree to get into the industry. Just a lot of money because you'll definitely be starting as a runner unpaid.

It's all about application and desire. Same as any industry.

Old-school PC games, archery, guitar-playing, bodyweight fitness, survival, shitposting.

Fucking amazing taste in guns. I wish I could find an original 1897.

walking cliche, my god

you need to work much harder or youre going to get taken down

>"animal crossing"

Guns, reenacting, welding and fabrication ( though I haven't done much of it in a while) Flag collecting, medal collecting.

Pic related: one of my flags (out of 13)

family Hobbies aside from reading and writing literature are videa and collecting images.

I have folders set aside for cute lolita dresses, pictures of cute anime girls I like, cute girls doing military things etc.

My collection of anime girls in military situations is one of my favorites. There's something about it I just find funny.

I like to drink

How can guns be a hobby? Do you just look at them? Or do include saving up for and anticipating the purchase of a gun to be an included activity?

Just remembered that guns shoot as well and that seems pretty fun.
Never mind me, apologies

Some Vidya (mostly DS desu)
MTG
Movies
Some writing.
I have come to terms that I am a geek.

That's about it.

I enjoy:

>writing
>cooking
>CG graphics
>psychedelics
>target shooting
>rope bondage & general sexual deviancy
>hiking

i masturbate and collect pornography

>Tarot
