I'm just about done with my current Moleskine. Is there any other brand out there that makes overpriced notebooks I can throw my money at ?

muji spiral notebooks are good and the small ones fit perfectly in a pocket

hobonichi techo

>Rite in the rain
160+ water resistant pages
>Rhodia
Better paper quality

this if you like a heavily structured planner, the paper is unique too. Clairefontaine (and thus rhodia) are the best.

Montblanc if you're really classy

If you like Moleskines but want something else, then go for the Blackwing Slate. It's almost identical to Moleskines, except these have a built-in pen/pencil holder. They also come with a free Blackwing 602. In pic related, it's the one on the right.

I have a Montblanc #146 in pic related, to the left. If OP's looking for notebooks similar to Moleskines, he's probably using these things as an everyday item. Montblanc notebooks are way too fucking expensive to be thrown around; they aren't utilitarian at all either when they cost $65 each. The paper ruling is also fucking ridiculous, considering that these notebooks are made to be written on by Montblanc pens, of which are normally broad nibs.

Just use Google handwriting app and a carbon-tipped stylus and write on your phone and win at life, friend.

Rhodia, anyone who tells you otherwise wants you to fail in all of your life's activities.

Rhodia does have really nice paper

Whole bunch listed here.

I can't write in a moleskine. every time i need to scratch something out i feel like ive violated the sanctity of the notebook.

Rite in the Rain, kept in a freezer bag with some pens, 'cause it gets wet here.

I just use the shitty mead-type mini marble composition joints. The rule is obnoxiously wide, though. I wish I could find the same cheap tiny notebooks with university rule.

What are those tactical ones?
Write in Rain(tm) or something? If i was out backpacking in Europe or climbing a mountain or some shit, that would be the one id carry.

Right now i use the same moleskin in the OP, but its useless in rain or overuse.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys write in these? Every time I've gotten one I only end up staring at the blank pages from time to time.

I write poetic sketches, snippets of conversation, ideas, jokes, funny phrases, notes, reminders, observations; use it as a commonplace book for aphorisms.

I use it as a commonplace book/journal. I need to always have the book with me in my back pocket. I write down information i think is especially important in a larger A5 book as a second draft.

Thoughts and ideas. I have a poor short term memory, so writing things down helps me remember.
In addition, i schedule important dates, and jot down topics to look up later.

In other words,

It's no way a Moleskine-type but I like ecojot notebooks, mostly because 1) they're spiraled with spirals that don't break, 2) the jumbo size, 3) the cover designs are unique and help me remember which notebook contains what.

I use one for standard/daily journaling, and one for study journaling. In my study journal I write the titles of articles and presentations I read/watch related to my professional field, and the main interesting points in them.

These are great.
>nice paper
> can get plain, lined, square or dotted
> has a contents page
> a bunch of the back pages are perforated so you can tear them out easily
>has a little folder in the back to put things in

yeah these, their planners are also offered with stickers for the back on which you can write the date etc, so you can catalogue your notebooks

Oxford optik, fuck all these rhodia shills

yeah, i think all of their sketchbook come with them. There are stickers for the covers and also the spine which is pretty nice.

Oh ok, I have both the planner and the notebook so I must have mixed it up a bit. I like how the Leuchtturm is filled with all these details. it is very German as it set outs to become the Total Notebook

These are good choices :o

I personally love timoe river

Is there a pocket notebook (A6) available with that paper?

This. I own several nice notebooks but haven't put anything in any of them because I'm scared of messing them up, or not being able to change or remove something I write once it's down. What do I do

Congrats you are diagnosed with stage 4 commodity fetishism.

cut off your hands and ears

I buy handcrafted leather notebooks off of Etsy, write retarded aphorisms in them, and then throw them away.

I don't think so but you could always buy some a4 loose leafs and bind your own. Keep in mind (Midori) Travellers notebook passport has timoe refills but they are a bit smaller than a6.

Send them to me, I will make crude pornographic drawings and put gum in between the pages. I can't even read nor write, but they are of better use to me than to you.
