Basically in 2012, a site called reddit.com really rose to prominence. It had existed before then, but around the election of 2012 it really became one of the leading websites on the internet. Around the same time, the mods here decided to slaughter /sp/. If you'll recall in 2011, /sp/ was one of the most brilliantly creative and amusing places on the internet, sort of like how /b/ had been several years before, but in a slightly more mature way. By late 2013 or so, all board culture of /sp/ had been effectively killed by the mods, and with it died the last uniquely Veeky Forums culture to ever be produced. It was around this time that the cultural borders between reddit and Veeky Forums, the two sites having developed vastly different cultures because of their form of "currency", began to blur and noticeable amounts of redditors began to visit Veeky Forums to gawk at the more infamous boards such as /b/ and /v/ and /pol/ who though newer had quickly rose to notoriety.
In 2014, perhaps the most retarded controversy of all time erupted when some pathetic video game designer slept with a bunch of pathetic video game reviewers and a bunch of pathetic video game players got really really upset about it. Now, you could imagine that something this incredibly stupid would blow over in less than a week, but because /v/ was so oversaturated with redditors it became one of the defining conflicts of the year. Worse than that, the fighting spilled into reddit, where it became an even bigger issue from what I understand. (I didn't browse reddit or any of their boards back then). Worse yet, to the redditors on the angry pathetic virgin side (as opposed to the angry pathetic whore side), Veeky Forums became a symbol of resistance to the admins of reddit who, from what I understand, sided with the pathetic whores.
Perhaps this could have been weathered too, but in the very same month (August 2014), a collection of celebrity nudes was leaked to /b/ and eventually found its way to reddit. It was deemed "the Fappening" and it led to a lot of publicity for Veeky Forums as being where the leaks originated. These two events led to two separate but equally impactful results. The first was a massive influx of redditors to Veeky Forums, the size of which had never been seen before and could not possibly have been stopped. The second was that the bad publicity forced moot to finally give up on his child and he stepped down in early 2015. Hiro took his place in late 2015 and I will refrain from blaming him for the downfall as I think nobody could have saved the website at that point.

Regardless, in the Summer of 2015, one that I had taken off from Veeky Forums myself as I would be abroad from May to December that year and I figured posting here would only take away from the experience, Donald Trump announced his run for the Presidency. It is worth noting at this point that many of the redditor incomers had not settled in /v/ where they arrived but in /pol/, which had become the new most popular board. There are theories on why this occurred but it is likely because to a redditor all Veeky Forums really represented was the ability to say nigger without getting called out and so they saw /pol/ as being the most "Veeky Forums" board and ended up there. By this point, /b/ had basically become a porn dump board and was a washed-up has-been, so although many redditors came there because they thought of /b/ as Veeky Forums, they ended up on /pol/. Such was the way that /pol/ became the cultural center of Veeky Forums.
Still, users on /pol/ decided very early on that they should support Trump who boasted largely nationalistic and conservative policies that lined up with those that they believed in (and also because it was funny to imagine a bad-tempered reality TV star becoming the President, which I must admit it was). The rest of the story is well known. Veeky Forums gained even more media exposure through /pol/'s staunch support of Trump. Pepe became a national issue. Again, the election divided the users of reddit, and action from reddit admins against the Trump supporters there led to even more intermixing between reddit and Veeky Forums, dominated by redditors and centered around /pol/. Today, /pol/ accounts for over half of all posts on Veeky Forums. The redditors on /pol/ did not stick to their board though. They infected every other board and demanded it become like them. Nobody stood a chance, Veeky Forums, /mu/, the fallen /sp/, the newly formed Veeky Forums (which in its early day was a hotbed for communists) all fell to the /pol/edditor, a mongrel race who is brought to tears by the idea of someone disagreeeing with them, a pathetic sperg who will post the same idiotic book 100 times a day on six different proxies to attempt to make it board culture, in all acounts the lowest of God's creatures.
When I returned in early 2016, I was shocked at the state of Veeky Forums and it got exponentially worse the entire year until it plateaud some time around the beginning of 2017. It's still shit but at least it doesn't seem to be getting even more shit. Now, as 2018 arrives, the site that we knew in 2011 is mostly dead. All forms of board culture is dead. Veeky Forums is dead. /sp/ is dead. The only reason I'm still here is because it is still slightly better than actually posting on reddit and my life isn't fulfilling enough on its own to leave again, but luckily I'm getting there.

This was educational and you probably did a better job of delivery than I would have done. There are, however, some soft points. Zoe Quinn did not just fuck five guys. She misrepresented herself as a standard user on the board where she was a moderator in order to catfish SJW principles. She then deleted cogent posts that disagreed with her positions and subsequently banned the users. This is patently fraudulent activity that was perpetrated against paying crowdfunding customers. Why did so many people involved in GamerGate not settle into /v/ containment? They were not allowed to do so. They were receiving bans in /v/ for discussing Zoe Quinn's fraudulent activity. Activity naturally spilled into other boards and offsite activity. You might benefit from some introspection. I would not go so far as to call you a bigot but a lot of your bias is showing. I understand that the quality of your experience here has diminished but blaming the gamers is pretty selfish. They got handed a raw deal. I do not blame them in the least for their scorched earth tactics.

Also, what drew most of the Gamergate and Fappening reddit transplants to /pol/ wasn't the belief that /pol/ was the "real" Veeky Forums because of their insistence on saying "nigger"...it was /pol/ Harbour, which served as a massive recruiting tool for all the redditors stuck on /b/ who were made aware of a board where the shitposting seemed to be of a slightly higher quality.

Some guy from Europe posted his coinbase account with password for someone to access and transfer his funds for him, because he was under mortgage debt I guess and was in a pinch struggling to navigate through their notoriously bad servers and so 146 people are trying to login and he eventually does give confirmation to one of them and he gets his password taken instantly when no one thought it was actually real.

No. The long answer is that if you are an attractive enough/morally strong enough person to change a girl from a whore into a good Christian girl, you wouldn't need to waste your time on a whore, you would just find a good Christian girl to wife up.

If you're not morally strong enough, it doesn't matter how good you look. She'll take her cue from you and go back to being a jezebel. If you're not attractive enough, she won't bother with you because she's a jezebel. She'll only mess with someone she perceives to be more attractive than herself; she won't date down. But once you're at a stage where you are attractive and morally strong (enough), it begs the question as to why you're dealing with this girl. There's only a couple of reasonable explanations, the most likely being that you have some prior history with her. Even if you have a prior history, there's only so many situations where you won't be revealing a sort of weakness by dating her.

So no, it isn't worth it. You could be putting your effort into bettering yourself, or into a girl who isn't a whore. There are only a very limited number of situations where it is worth it.

The general idea is that Veeky Forums used to be a place where "Anonymous hackers" would gather and talk about their nefarious deeds. This cabal never really existed, but it was funny. As technology became more accessible and fun to use, people started abusing their powers and made the meme into a reality, owing to the decline of board quality. Issues started popping up all over the place, most notably GamerGate, and the whole fiasco with Veeky Forums during the election. The quality of the website is measured not by the content but by how it's used. I think that's what people mean when they say board culture has gone to shit.

Us oldfags are in our 30s with jobs and families so we sometimes have a look what's going on on Veeky Forums, but we don't have the time to create 'oldschool' quality content or keep up the posting pace.
