Just curious:

Why do we have his thread every day? Where are the other ones going?

a man who is traveling to the past meets a man who is traveling to the future.
The man from the future wants to change the past.
the man from the past liked the future and wants to conserve it.
they try to kill each other.

A man is chasing me in the woods I do not know him. I sheltered in the barn. A huge pig ruined me. Reach an agreement Bargain, or clever trick. This can only be confirmed. Never such a thing. I do not know the origin. Like a dinosaur, I am already extinct. I do not know where I'm going, I stopped and looked at my hand. Blood is everywhere. This book is over.

A man without a penis is implicated in a rape. Hilarity ensues

Sometimes they last for a hundred posts. Sometimes they fall to the bottom and die really fast. Check the archive. It's just luck on the timing whether they stick around for a few days. They're interesting and fun enough that I feel they warrant a reposting if they die prematurely.

stream-of-consciousness narrative taking the reader through the deep web

I got influenced by The Man Who Would Be King and came up with a whole story about the British trying to take control of a fictional kingdom below Ethiopia. The whole plot is basically that the British are getting a tribe bordering the kingdom to attack the kingdom, but first they have to convince the tribe leader.

Bastad motherbitch.

I had a concept a few months back about a man being hired/forced into acting as the caretaker and main educator of a not-quite-android, but I gave it up after I realized that beyond some nifty sci-fi tech I didn't really have much of a point.
I had wanted to cap it off with a pessimistic statement about AI and manufactured life, and how no created being could truly manifest an emergent 'human' personality or social persona due to the codependent nature of organically-arisen life, which an engineered creation could not realistically emulate - and of course that would draw some haughty paralells with individuals within the collective of humanity and all that, ants in an anthill, etc. But it lacked real narrative depth unless I intended to use the not-quite-an-android's perspective significantly and there wasn't really a way to do that that wasn't complete trite or prone to causing narrative dissonance, I feel.

U

An actor typecast as a Pedophile helps the authorities catch real Predators.

A travelogue of a man on his way home after the suicide of a close relative. Set during the 1970s in the Northeastern US and Canada. Unreliable narrator.

I'd recommend you stop wasting your time on something no one (not even you) will ever want to read.

antisemitic manifesto

A 200k word description of me taking an absolutely heinous shit that provokes various histories in metaphor, tracing through all of human civilization with major events corresponding to the lumps of the turds as they breech my asshole. In the end, the tenants have evacuated my apartment building and somebody sets the place on fire to leave me to die inside. Then humanity is destroyed by uncontrollable Chinese AI.

My video game ideas but as a single 1200 page novel

A short romance novella about an office romance between two coworkers. Then one day, a seemingly normal day, changes everything in September.

So a sequel to Ulysses

Hahahaha nice

I had another about a gay forbidden love between two soldiers during the Troubles. Instead of Romeo and Juliet it's Rory and Julian

Scifi series that takes place in a universe with a stagnated humanity.
At first humanity was bright eyed and excited to start colonizing other planets and expanding into the stars, but after centuries of expensive and difficult space travel/colonization humanity fails to continue any significant scientific advancement.
This causes worlds and people to be disconnected and broken. Even the old ways of space travel have been lost to time so humanity is stuck trying to keep the ships that can travel between worlds working just so total isolationism doesn't happen.

Anyways the story picks up with a group of people figuring out this girl has the ability to control and manipulate technology. The goal is to get her to a planet where most scientists belong and preserve humanities history and knowledge.
She ends up plugging into their system gaining everything that could be possibly known, rediscovering space travel and figuring humanity needs a kick in the pants.

Long winded, so go ahead and rip me to shreds.

So it's like Dexter, but pedofiles. Sounds decently interesting.

Sounds like Galatea 2.2

...

I'll write a 1000 page maximalist modern novel that swaps blacks with whites and men with women and restores the natural white patriarchal dominance and gets daddy to tell me he loves me.

Inspired by DFW's 'The Suffering Channel' and my autistic nephew

The first half of the novel revolves around an autistic boy who sculpts elaborate structures and moving figurines out of his own shit. Scientists try in vain to determine how he animates the various poo people who populate his grand poo cities. Eventually they concede it must be a miracle and decide to document the complicated lives of the many (all seemingly miserable) poo citizens. The second half of the novel follows Dr. Brown, a poo surgeon experiencing an existential crisis. Brown's work, for which he was specifically designed, serves no practical purpose and he seeks to fill the void with poo flings, poo drugs, and other assorted poo vices. One day he wakes to discover god has crafted him a wife, his miserable, meaningless life is about to get worse.

Never heard of it, a little put off by the pseudo-biographical elements. Can you recommend it?

A magical realism short story about a man living in an island where nobody dies of natural causes but of shark attacks. The story describes his life and possibly some minor life events like getting a girlfriend, having people dear to him die eaten by sharks, him wondering about his role in the universe and finally his own encounter with death to bring an end to the story.

I'm pretty sure there's a film similar to this, but I'd read this.

Current project:
All humans but a young man have vanished from the earth without a trace of a war, an attack or anything else really. He has to scavenge to stay alive. For some reason his laptop still works without electricity and even has a connection to the internet where everything seems to be normal: the social networks are still filled with people interacting by chatting, posting pictures of their travels etc. etc.
The books focusses on the contrast between the extreme isolation he experiences in the real world and the apparent interconnectedness of humanity over the internet. The narrative style is heavily segmented. Statues of Marx and Engels accompanied by a dove play the role that a choir would play in a greek tragedy. They comment what happens, often commenting on the nonsensical complexity of the story without ever taking themselves to be parts of it.

Wish me luck.

Pepper it with a few ackward, unsatisfying sex scenes to highlight the friction between organic and engineered life. Then toss in a big ol' helping of "AIs will be man's legacy/ successors". You've gotta recipe for a moderate (financial as well as critical) success. Careers are built on moderate successes, user. Write it.

Pynchon pls

Pepperoni is a fruit

A young man has to look after his useless father, his wife and infant son following a nuclear attack close to his home.

It’s a laugh a minute

A bunch of idiots give novel ideas in an internet debate. The book alternat ebetween a character criticizeng the previous ideas and the idea given by the last character being developped into a short story.
The last chapter is basically a copy of the last episode of Seinfeld.

a writer finds himself tossed into a chaotic world of schoolboys by a diabolical professor who wishes to reduce him to childishness.

It's like Frankenstein, except there is no preamble or first murder, and when he goes to build a wife for the monster, he's more experienced and creates a creature of great beauty. She too rejects the monster, and the monster resigns to die about half way in. Vikky falls in love with his creation. As she is still and unnatural creature, their love is scorned. The second act follows our hero and his forbidden love, taking on a sort of Pygmalion type story.

gross, but could be funny

My novel is about a German Sociology professor who doesn't have sex with his students.

A guy discovers rock solid evidence that the world really is a disk and falls down a rabbit hole of conspiracy and ends up insane and forgetting the one piece of actual evidence he had, becoming yet another one of the nutjobs

My novel is going to be Lolita meets Huck Finn on acid set in rural california from the perspective of a dog who is the reincarnation of James Joyce

gay meme

Someone is being sent to the past from the distant future to change time for a large corporation so they stay in power but, because time travel is unpredictable, it's always a different large corporation he's working for.

Nevermind: 1800 page novel
