Lately, I've began to notice words, used by young people, that annoy the hell out of me. I guess, I'm finally turning into Mr. Wilson.
For example; Savage
as in; "YO THAT GIRL SAVAGE AF"
Savage is the new epic. Saying that someone is always SAVAGE for making fun of someone, is fucking dumb.
Isaiah Gutierrez
Hating slang is the lowest form of intellectual posturing. Even lower than correcting typos.
Caleb Thompson
Making statements like that, without proof, is fucking gay dude. Also I just noticed that there's a thread similar to this already.
Nolan Hill
Proof? It's his opinion you fucking brainlet pseud. Bitching about contemporary slang is lame as hell, you'd be a fool to not try to get over it.
Carter Cruz
salt/salty
salty
Dominic Campbell
t. Salty boi
Brayden Jenkins
Pretty much.
But & are also MEGA GAY. I don't need proof, it's just my opinion and fact.
Cameron Jones
o I'm huffin'n'puffin rn
Ian Gomez
I communicate entirely through ''ironic'' niggerspeak
Thomas Walker
I like "af". I also like salty. I can't stand "savage" or "bae" or "lit"
Parker Sanders
Word.
Tyler Collins
People who say something is "reductive."
Caleb Thomas
young people don't say reductive
Carson Jones
Are you kidding me? 19yo SJWs are the worst abusers.
Daniel Cox
hmm, I could see it used by them, but I just haven't. I won't write you off.
Leo Lee
i agree that bae was the worst of the worst. I'm glad it already died out. I usually don't mind slang though. Perhaps I am just envious i have never had somebody to call bae? Questions. Questions.
Isaac Reyes
Absolutely savage.
Asher Sullivan
...
Aiden Cook
‘Problematic’ is a far more egregious offense in that regard than ‘reductive’, though.
John Gonzalez
concatenation
Juan Jenkins
I know a bird uses phrases like epic
It's cringe af desu
Isaiah Perez
'Problematic', people use it as an argument rather than a descriptor
Owen Clark
Good call, m80s. I haven't heard someone use this in real life, but I always want to ask what is problematic about it. It's the weakest of the weak, a vague claim that can't be backed up because people who use the term don't know enough to be specific.
Ethan Hall
You lowkey mad af pham, smdh.
Adam Campbell
I honestly believe we are witnessing the niggerification of language, just as we are seeing the shitifcation of Europe's white populations. One might perhaps say that the English language is being PIDGIN'D by non-whites. It isn't merely slang in the sense of a few words co-opted by the young who add an additional meaning to a word or simply revive a long-obscure word and apply a sense of "hipness" to it having done so ("hip" being necessarily youth-related because nobody really wants to fuck anybody over 25). One may plausibly conduct entire conversations in what appears to be English but is in fact a sort of Clockwork Orange-esque blackabulary which only exists due to the low-IQ and general retardation of most blacks. I often walk behind or in front of black people on the pavements in my city and hear sentences like: "Nah get me senpai low key yeah that bruh wild foreal dat ting peng no mistake man, no mistake *kh kh kh kh laughter*" and every time I hear it I grow even more prejudiced against the black species and even more hopeful of a Race War in the very nearest future. For example, over the Christmas holidays I spent over a week away from a multi-ethnic city, and the behaviour, manners, language etc of most people I saw on a day-to-day basis was almost beyond fault, and indicative of a highly cultured civilization. But only moments after returning to the city I saw a black teenager with his trousers pulled down below his bottom staring at girls on the underground and singing out loud to rap music disturbing other passengers, saw a black man spitting several times on the ground in a very aggressive manner, saw what appeared to be a mentally damaged Somali man kicking a plastic bottle along the street, and several others sights which really has ruined 2018 for me already, knowing as I do that I will have to spend so much of this year within sensory range of these disgusting creatures.
Alexander Morgan
>*kh kh kh kh laughter*"
As someone who lives in a mostly black city, thank you so much for giving me a way to describe one of the banes of my existence.
This is a really great post. I can't tell if it's copypasta, but it's very insightful and nails the pathos of living around niggers.
I have similar worries about the Internet being such a hodgepodge of Engrish-speakers, particularly Indians, that we're all being habituated (even more than we already are) to "best-guessing" our way through exchanges of information. When I download porn that involves two young women eating each other out, the porn is always named something like >Hot sex for girl, my sister she love a puss, aunt POV sex hello this is Gordon Prabhalabat have you tried restarting the modem sir and I recently realized that I've actually just adjusted, I can squint my mind's eye at this Indian Turing test babble, and actually understand what he "means," like I'm interpreting a cargo cult pidgin. All subtlety and shades are meaning of lost because you're so focused on getting the actual meaning-content of what the pajeet is vaguely rambling about in an attempt to eventually hit the mark: "based on the context, this video probably involves vaginas."
Jason Hernandez
Honestly, any slang that comes from black people and goes mainstream annoys the everliving fuck out of me.
Jeremiah Williams
This is a word I love because reductionism is an actual problem.
Jaxson Young
The word ‘obtuse’, as in someone is being purposefully obtuse, which is always said by some whiny American on the internet to sound clever.
Maybe what irks me is they pronounce it so fucking nasally
Charles Wilson
i think that savage is fine, although it has to be used properly. Its best used to describe a situation or as a property of something, rather than a person where i agree it sounds pretty stupid.
>Yeah he got hit by a car, pretty savage > ( responding to particularly incisive quip) Savage! > I'm not going to go out, the rain is savage
Xavier Collins
t. nigger
Josiah Young
I'm actually a jew living in north london. Nice try though
Xavier Jackson
problematic
Nolan Gonzalez
typical of niggers to call themself jew when we can't see their skin
Carson Evans
"Regression".
The word you're thinking of is "retrograde."
ret·ro·grade ˈretrəˌɡrād/Submit verb gerund or present participle: retrograding go back in position or time.
Jordan Jackson
"Problematic" yo what the fuck you going on about something is problematic? I mostly hear this being used as basically "offensive" and it really peeves me off.
Jaxon Hernandez
the superficial understanding of language itt is mildly amusing
Ayden Foster
typo's*
Juan Cooper
"anyways" When I was in 7th grade, everyone said anyways. Our teacher one time stopped us enmasse and asked us how you even spell anyways, and we all rolled our eyes and thinking "hahaha, old people, amirite?" but now I realize what he was getting at.
Anyways is such a base, immature fucking word. Like, even slang has it's uses, and it's own literary tone and setting and whatever. In fact, I love slang. Inventing slang is super fucking fun.
Anyways isn't even that. Anyways is a word that just shows the power level of the writer. It's like sharting in a club, and the sharter thinks nobody noticed, but everybody fucking did.
I hate anyways. I don't even know where this vitriol comes from, honestly.
Sebastian Gonzalez
'Whatever' is a similar one.
Elijah Johnson
Meh. I understand, but it's not as bad, since there's really only two instances where someone (with even a negligible amount of dignity) would use "whatever", namely monologue/dialog, or if the story is written in first person.
"Anyways" can just slip in whenever.
Alexander Torres
not quite the same, but tumblr fucks pronouncing aesthetic as aesTETic sends me into a blind rage.
John Lee
People will call this edgy, and it is written edgily, but I can't help but feel there's a lot of us that feel this way. People used to have more manners, be more polite, swear and use coarse language less, be less noisy, look less like horror clowns (rainbow hair, body covered in coloured tattoos, pricings everywhere etc.), be less vulgar, litter less, push their chairs back in, commit less crime. There's no way around it. We don't have too many negroes here, instead we have Turks, Yugoslavs and middle easterners in general. They absolutely butcher our dialect, and in the worse schools, local kids adopt that horrible language too (and in general start dressing like rappers and so on). And the graffiti! And vandalism in general! Don't get me started on that.
It might not matter to everyone, but I hate it. I don't like town anymore. I don't enjoy going outside in the city. I'm considering moving to the country side.
Jason Green
That's not 'using it properly', that's just watering the now-common use down. >These people are not protesters, they are wicked, lawless, savage animals.
Austin Taylor
.... I thought men got fuckable after 25
Colton Thompson
>hateful
>outdated
>conspiracy(this one i've gotten in a fight over)
All these words serve to end logical argument.
Hunter Robinson
literally serbia but no niggers
Austin White
Fucking this
Hunter Reed
Soyboy
Brayden Taylor
damn! This irritates me too, but I have been unsure if that is the proper way to say aesthetic or not. I always say the first "th" with a lisped th like saying "the".
Blake Thompson
I used to hate the words "nigga" and "bub."
I hated "nigga" for no other reason than being some edgy 8th grader who hated rap music, and I hated "bub" because all of the rednecks at my high school call each other (and anyone else) that. I eventually just started saying them both, at first as a joke, but they eventually just made it into my vocabulary. They're often still used as joke material, though.
Another word recently is "lit." I don't really like using that word the way it's commonly used in slang, but I do say "litty like a titty" because I think it's funny,
Ethan Nguyen
Legit I do that shit unironically
Hunter Gray
I should append to this message that I graduated high school last year, so it's been a while since I started saying "nigga".
Eli Flores
>fucking, fucked, fucked up, as fuck >retarded, gay, bullshit, stupid, ridiculous >(drawing out letters for emphasis) liiiiike sooooo shit >utterly ridiculous, utterly stupid, utterly devoid of >pathetic attempt, laughably hilarious, laughable
What can be said about a society so "utterly confused" it can't utter anything but two dozen or so phrases signaling dislike over and over again?
It can be said that a society where things are going wrong is bad, but one in which things are going so wrong that people are no longer capable of expressing the wrongness is worse.
Oliver Wright
this post is massively autistic and nitpicky. >oh, staples in the way people speak a language are bad!
Anthony Turner
>It can be said that a society where things are going wrong is bad, but one in which things are going so wrong that people are no longer capable of expressing the wrongness is worse. Damn it looks like you have the world all figured out.
Ian Perry
>I started saying "dat" instead of "dass" ironically >I have stopped saying "dat" instead of "dass" ironically, and started saying it unironically, to my deep, visceral horror. >mf every single time It's a steep fucking slope.
Camden Richardson
Irony really does kill doesn't it? >Started saying "ayyy" after every sentence to mimic australian bogans and now i can't stop.
Ian Carter
I honestly hate to see "nigger" used. It's just so crass, usually deployed in a way that, to me, seems inappropriately hateful or unintelligent. I don't really care that it hurts black people's feelings, I just kind of get bummed out that people try to use the word to hurt people or rile them up at all, like I never admire its use for being clever or particularly witty.
Henry Hall
>this post is massively autistic and nitpicky >massively autistic >massively >autistic
Or maybe the rest of you are just inarticulate and learned to talk from watching television and World Star Hip Hop interviews.
Xavier Watson
holy shit. you're an actual sperg, aren't you?
Hunter Perez
>It can be said that a society where things are going wrong is bad, but one in which things are going so wrong that people are no longer capable of expressing the wrongness is worse. You know that's not why. So why did you say it?
Sebastian Morales
>holy shit You're not proving him wrong by using more cliches
Liam Bell
whom'st've had had
Jason Sanders
>Dear [someone I don't agree with]
I cringe every time I see an article/post/opinion piece titled like that and can't help but think the word "dear" will become lose its original meaning in a couple of decades.
Camden Hernandez
>"dear" will become lose its original
Not that I have the right to complain, I clearly suck at English.
Carter Baker
p-please, stop..
Jordan Stewart
It sounds like you need to join a private pornography tracker which has appropriate naming rules and specified release formats, codecs, bitrates etc.
Grayson Nelson
Damn I leave for like 3 months and pol just takes over the whole board.
Liam Bailey
>"Like" In the sense that it's just dropped into speech for (like) no reason at all. I certainly do this as well.
Nolan Thomas
>think nigger is ok to say for everyone >called a racist
>think only stupid fucks unironically use nigger >still a fucking racist because 99% of blacks spew the term all the time
If you actually think people that curse or use simple language in day to day life lack the intelligence to express themselves, rather than lacking the desire to announce how pretentious they are every second, then you're the one that's utterly confused. Covering up your autism with a plea on behalf of a population you're clearly out of touch with doesn't really work either.
Jason Phillips
Indubitably, he's a monkey's rotten taint is that better?
Luke Morales
I don't see how your green texts are supposed to contradict, or what they're trying to say. Your last block doesn't even seem to make sense being paired together. If you don't say nigger, how does black people saying it make you a racist?
Ryan Phillips
Veeky Forums was not a containment board, but a floodgate.
Jeremiah Peterson
Oh I get it now. Personally I don't think nigger is unintelligent inately, it's dialect so its use it what determines that. White people saying the hard-r sounds untelligent, black people using it is just colloquial. Nigga is a different story, people use that mostly just to be friendly, black or not.
Michael Turner
>It can be said that a society where things are going wrong is bad, but one in which things are going so wrong that people are no longer capable of expressing the wrongness is worse. Meanwhile you're tying yourself in knots trying to get across your distaste for dull speech without falling into the same pitfalls you've just dug.
Wyatt Parker
I hated "basically" until I saw shoenice--now I can't say "well, basically" normally anymore
Dylan Cox
your fault, (failed) normie
Samuel Sanchez
Unironically 'ignorant'. You start arguing with someone and they call you ignorant if you don't share their position. What am I ignorant of exactly?
Samuel Gomez
At first I misread the title, and thought it was "words that you learned too late", and was thread for the hivemind of Veeky Forums to present those words that somehow caught a notion or feeling they had had for a long time, but hadn't had a succinct way of expressing.
Then I saw it was just more posturing, spleen and bile.
Fuck this, I'm reading Heidegger today instead.
John Rivera
>empirical(ly) Enlightened muh-science-fags throw this around like scholastics say "It is written". The worst part is that a lot of them don't even know what it really means. To many it just means: "It has been proven by muh science."
Isaac Watson
(non-anglo here) How would you start an email to your aunt, for example? Not with "dear"? Is "dear" really not used regularly anymore?
Carter Morgan
I have no idea what that user is talking about. It's still perfectly normal, and everyone still does it, if they learned how to fucking do it.
Asher Lee
Yes it's used. These articles use it in sort a condescending/ passive aggressive way though.
Jack Long
But so long as that use doesn't heavily overshadow the normal use, the meaning should be preserved, no?
Nathan Thompson
There's nothing wrong with 'had had'.
Bentley Carter
i hate lit as well
Zachary Flores
Your own post >annoy the hell >I guess
Also >pretty sure, pretty whatever >Hell, even Stinks of reddit
Ayden White
it's the eternal cycle: black people create a culture and use original words to describe things it filters into rap and other mass culture avenues white people acquire terms through mass culture white people repeat the terms and they become stupid and uncool as they become more widespread repeat
