Why is the number of writers who performed heroic sacrifices and lived (and died) as a faithful representation of their work so small and disappointing?

Right now I can only think of one writer who fully fits this criteria and I don't even have to mention his name. You already know who I'm referring to.

do you guys have a copy of Elliot Rodger's Retribution?
Can only find reaction vids on YT

Mishima? Mainlander? It is a small list indeed. Plath and Woolf had the most Veeky Forums deaths desu

>Woolf
>Veeky Forums
Kys, you god damn pleb

>Wading into a river with your pockets filled with stones

Seems pretty Veeky Forums to me desu

Literally boring af

t.b.h. if you're a commie and don't just spree shoot up a building full of porkies, I can't take your shit seriously

>b-but here is my dissertation on why socialist policy is-

I aint hearing it faggot, your family makes more money in 1 month than an actual prole makes in a year. You constantly consume blood money, a third worlder made the shirt you're wearing. Literally just kill yourself and you will do more good for the egalitarian meme than you ever could living, your life is a blight on actual workers. If your net worth is more than $1k (daily reminder the actual majority of US citizens are not even worth a stack) you are not my fucking comrade, and if you don't put your money where your mouth is then you gotta hit the wall too.

t. not even a commie, just spouting such terminology because that is how shitty the world in the year 2018 proves itself to be

>t. not even a commie

That's pretty fucking obvious.

Eh

facetious shitposting aside, aware me on why it wouldn't be a good thing for the people who made the products in your home to just burn the place down, kill your entire family, and reap the benefits of their labor?

if you have a shirt that says "made in bangladesh", why shouldn't the people who made it suffer you to live? by commie logic, humans are basically blanks slates who will make their own liberated utopia once the shackles of the oppressors are thrown off. so why do they need your first world intellectual administration? power to the people

I am taking the MTW pill

i don't think killing a bunch of people is a good way to add to whatever your ideas are

git gud

t. government and religion

>elliot Rodger was heroic

This has to stop. Actually words can't describe how pissed off that idea makes me.

how about remove yourself from your small individual world and know what it might mean to lose something legitimately precious to you for a reason that seems nothing more than random violence

Are they going over Elliot's opus in graduate school american lit classes? A true tragedy.

Imagine if your big contribution to the world, your magnum opus, your war cry, your swan song, whatever you want to call it... is killing a bunch of unsuspecting young people because you are obsessed with your inability to get laid and have to lash out at anybody within your reach (who is unarmed and doesn't pose a threat).

Billions of years of struggle and evolution and that's your big plan: high school-tier fantasies of "getting back" at girls who didn't reciprocate your creepy advances. Gee I wonder why, maybe because they saw you were a psycho loser kek. And no, they didn't make him the way he was, because many people don't get what they want and don't lash out like this.

The people who unironically look up to this guy should do some genuine introspection, because maybe all your "bad luck" and "persecution" is a result of your own actions and impressions you give off. Moody, brooding, creepy, living vicariously online, and being a general fuck-up =/= sensitive, mysterious, "nice guys finish last".

Even with a 4" cock, a guy with a father in Hollywood, a nice car etc should be able to get a girl. This guy was toxic and I'm glad he died a virgin, it is fitting.

t. chad or stacy

I don't know what you meant by this. Actually I do, just not how it is supposed to apply to my shitpost about how violence is the answer because it worked for the most successful ideas in history, government and religion.

>brainlets don't realize that ideas are only as good as the people who have them, and those people killed other faggots with ideas

Someone please post his manifesto.

>insulting someone for being better than you
I don't understand r9k. They talk about how hard life is for them and how people who do better couldn't understand how painful their life is and that by being worse makes them better. It's Christianity of steroids.

>Seems nothing more than random violence
If you can't sort it out then you deserve to die too

Too fucking long didn't fucking read

I think Pushkin qualifies.

tldr

Kierkegaard, obviously

>Why is the number of writers who performed heroic sacrifices and lived (and died) as a faithful representation of their work so small and disappointing?

George Orwell did sign up to fight in the Spanish Civil War, and though he saw relatively little combat he was wounded severely. (And he had to flee from intra-Republican purges, I think.) Ernest Hemingway was wounded pretty badly as an ambulance driver in WW1. I don't know too much about his biography, but I think John Milton was pretty outspoken in using his writing to promote his favored political beliefs during a time of civil war and upheaval.

I think OP raises a really important and under appreciated question/point here. There are so many writers of various stripes---Tennyson, Nietzsche, Kipling, et cetera---who wrote beautifully about high ideals of struggle and achievement and so on but seem to have only ever...well, written about them.

Like, lots of people love to suck Nietzsche's dick about how revolutionary and brilliant his philosophy is/was, and maybe they're right, but I can't help but notice that in his day to day life Nietzsche was mostly just your typical nerdy bookworm classics professor.

Whatever you think about him, the fact that the late Supreme Gentleman actually died on the basis of his writings is a big part of what makes him so interesting to many people IMO. There are probably like 10,000 autistic virgins in Amerikwa who have penned manifestos like MTW but have never DONE anything about it, so no one cares about their writings.

All the roman stoics who committed suicide.
You would know about them if you weren't an autistic american who wastes his time by shitposting.

>Nietzsche was mostly just your typical nerdy bookworm classics professor.
Nietzsche had multiple ailments that would have destroyed lesser men. The fact that he was able to be such an amazing thinker in spite of his illnesses is truly amazing. His life wasn't easy and he had to fight hard through most of it. He most certainly didn't just write about struggle.

>I think OP raises a really important and under appreciated question/point here
I'm not so sure. It's sort of like asking why aren't many professional athletes amazingly smart. The answer is that the time spent on their pursuits are so extreme it leaves little room for intense intellectual engagement.
In addition if there aren't any major upheavals happening how are you meant to expect someone to do heroic things? Blake lead a life of intense devotion to his craft but he was a poor as fuck engraver. Do you really expect him to lead a revolution or anything? Cicero wouldn't have been such a memorable thinker if he didn't act in such turbulent times but it's not like he sought them out.

Like what this guy said. Many ancient figures acted as well as wrote.

> "getting back" at girls who didn't reciprocate your creepy advances
>implying

>All the roman stoics who committed suicide
Heck yes! Socrates for example. Dude freaking invented stoicism and no pseud remembered him throughout this thread.
Another honorable mentions are Seneca or Justin Martyr
