The fact that even he worked as a freelance commercial translator, founded his own publishing house, wrote for various journals and newspapers, founded his own literary journal with some of his artistic peers and friends, translated The Scarlet Letter and various literary works into Portuguese, as well as had a 19-year old lover who he almost married means it's truly time for me to end it. No one will be interested in the work of a 34-year old who's never had a friend, never had a girlfriend, and has never had a job. And even when I die my parents are much more likely to chuck my writing out rather than trying to get it published as if I'm some sort of reclusive genius Darger-esque outsider artist.

user, I've been feeling some strong urges to kill myself tonight and this thread isn't helping.

I wish there had been someone to catch me in the rye desu

So at least link us your work before you die then

theres no excuse for fading into obscurity nowadays.
turn your death into a meme if it's such a big deal to you.

I'd give you a night's respite being me if I could.

I'm not sure if you're being serious spam-chan but it truly is never too late. The feeling of it being too late is only really valid if you're 65 or over, or if you have a terminal illness.

Huoellebecq's first novel was 30k words in length.

Neal Stephenson's first novel was written in a week.

DFW's first novel written in a summer.

Nell Zink writes her novellas in a fortnight as a matter of routine.

Welcome to the NHK was written in days for the sake of a competition.

I could think of others.

If you aren't merely shitposting ironically (instead of post-ironically, or meta-sincerely, which is more productive both for you and everyone who is likely to be baited by your post) then use all your negative emotions as fuel for your writing, editing etc. Many people, perhaps most, who are attempting to write lack such extreme emotions, which are themselves capable of serving as the driving force you need to write. Secondly, consider why it's so important that you do something at a young age. Some of that is natural youthful bravado and ambition of course, but consider that this old age anxiety is actually a very damaging aspect of contemporary culture, which is focused on youth in a way that causes many people to suffer. Write something which perhaps deals with that issue. Many people will surely relate.
