Now we can pretend to read instead of actually reading

JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL

This my nigger

Fucking Joyce.

What's some essential reading background noise my lads?

During the height of my depression I could only read if I had one of those 10 hour pink/white/brown noise things playing in my headphones. Thankfully that's no longer the case.

>Sit outside
>Play lofi through my headphones

Now we can read

False Readings On by Eluvium

My number one choice of background reading noise.

>pull up a chillhop youtube channel
>at least three Veeky Forums threads to glance at every few minutes

Now we can read

>put on epic celtic music mix
>a full bottle of rum and two bottles of cola
>electric blanket: on
>phone: off

now we can read

Kek, doing this right now.

The Modern Man

>A TARGARYEN BOOOAAAARRRR AT THE HEAD OF A DOTHRAKI WHOOOORREEE

Now we can read

absolutely nothing wrong with this

At first I was confused as to what “forced incest” had to do with reading.

>have completed my nightly ritual
>brush teeth, wash face
>ensure my stove is off, the door is locked
>check the thermostat and make sure it is set to 68
>hope in bed, turn the overhead light of, turn the lamp on

Now we can read

>tea with honey
>sit by fake fire place
>wearing comfy sweater
>sad ambient music to drown out the dread of silence
now we can read
fug I wish I didn't have this sinus infection (caused by a tooth problem so pretty bad) and the weather was nicer so I could do that. Getting my tooth taken care of by the end of the month so making it a goal for everyday I'm not working to read outside most of the day if the weather is nice.

>take methamphetamine
>listen to industrial techno mix
>drink gatorade

Now we can fa-.. read.

lmao didn't mean to quote you

nigga how can u pay attention to wat u reading with music goin

I need the memorization track of my brain to switch off to read. lofi and math rock are good for that

I can't do this either. Does that make me a brainlet? I don't read slow

>open up best of Brahms on you tube
>set some dried dates on the table (with a little fork of course)
>set aside a pen and my notebook in case I would want to make some notes
>after I read a chapter I take one date and eat it while loudly exclaiming "yes good"

Now we can read.

I only listen to music while reading when I'm in public and need something to drown out the surrounding noise.

Good ambient music for reading

Steve Roach's Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces
The Sight Below
early Tim Hecker

Deepchord

>put on blue suede shoes
>board a plane

Now we can read.

planes are for writing not reading

>Shankman signed a book contract that gave him only two weeks to finish the entire manuscript. Meeting this deadline would require incredible concentration. To achieve this state, Shankman did something unconventional. He booked a round-trip business-class ticket to Tokyo. He wrote during the whole flight to Japan, drank an espresso in the business class lounge once he arrived in Japan, then turned around and flew back, once again writing the whole way—arriving back in the States only thirty hours after he first left with a completed manuscript now in hand. “The trip cost $4,000 and was worth every penny,” he explained.

>fire burning and recorded ambiance is now music

>small amount of whisky (I don't like it but it was a gift, and the fact I don't like it stops me drinking too much)
>nujabes or madoka magica soundtrack on my headphones
>snuggled up in bed

now I can read

patrician

ayylmao

patrician

patrician

That's awesome

:-)

examples of good ambient music/sounds ?

>recorded ambiance is now music
it absolutely is

There is nothing wrong reading with ambiance if you don't listen to it as music worth much reflection.

>smoldering roach
>window cracked; rain pouring beyond
>cool glow of monitors
Now we can watch the big Lebowski

Kompakt's annual Pop Ambient compilations are nice.

>close blinds and turn on lamp
>pull comfy chair up to bed and rest my feet on it, place smole cushion on lap for resting book
>unzip fly and take out dick so I can easily fap to the good bits
>open The Ego and Its Own

this is pretty close to my dream lifestyle, except i would be doing similar things every couple of months and staying in places for longer periods of time

Vaccum cleaner

Vacuum is spelled with two u's, Gately didn't remember.

>raining outside
>olympics playing on second monitor with extremely low volum
>fire up the incense in my new comfy wooden incense holder
>hot chocolate
>very warm and cozy snugrug around me
>top hits from the 80's and 90's playing on youtube for nostalgia

Now we can shitpost

>open book

Now we can read.

Now we can stop reading

>close book

it is incredibly hard to find ambient noise/music, which does not interfere with your concentration. The best is always whatever you have the most positive experience with. Some examples for me:
