Truly a contemporary masterpiece.

Have you read the book of our generation?

omg

No but I watched an interview with Nagle and she actually seems dope and smart I am down with her.

wait what?

it's a book for normies though and as bad as it may be god knows the left needs it, but it makes no sense to read it from inside the abyss

i guess part of it is her being irish makes her immune to many of the anglo memery that infects everything nowadays

Isn't everything on this website supposed to be a joke?

what are you talking about? memes are real now

...

that's not milk & honey.

nagle would beat up rupi in a fistfight

Yeah, I actually like it a lot. Her talks on youtube are also great and would recommend to anyone.

I think Veeky Forums and Veeky Forums in general assume she's a turbo-SJW speaking condescendingly about chan culture and memes but that's not it. She gets chan culture, why /pol/ emerged and isn't simply saying they're retarded deplorables.

Also, it's pretty ironic to see the backlash she's gotten from the left because of it. Nagle is confirmed /our gal/.

This

is this a real book? asking for a friend

/ourgal/ in the sense that she is a socialist activist who wrote an ethnography the new young right for so socialists could understand what they are up against, so of course the radlibs freaked out and because they can accept in any way that they have agency in the world.

Anyways, best books by Zero are
Capitalist Realism
Continuity and Rupture
Eugene Thacker’s triology
Malign Velocities
Ghosts of My Life

Nearly everything else they’ve published is kind of garbage and a don’t really understand who buys them

Nagle is a 5'9 Norman she-warrior.

Anyways, here’s a pdf, read it for yourself, I’m surprised people here hadn’t heard of it yet,

track5.mixtape.moe/wsiind.pdf

The left doesn't need to appeal to entitled white men, if anything there is not enough focus on the plight of women queers and marginalized people

Are you alright, friend? Seems to me like you're having a stroke of some sort. Or are you unfamiliar with connectives? Is that it?

Ah, I was actually going to Google that in a second. Thanks for saving me the effort.

it's been memed before, but people just played with the meme, nobody read it or thought it would be actually decent

>/ourgal/ in the sense that she is a socialist activist who wrote an ethnography the new young right
she has said stuff like "it's easy to destroy institutions, but to build up institutions not so much" in some lectures and interviews, we'll have her among our reactionary ranks soon enough :3

not sure what you mean, but i mean it's a book needed by the left in the sense that they need it strategically, not to change their ideology or goals.

i don't care in what direction they direct their efforts towards though, it's not my project

kek

>Introduction: From Hope to Harambe

wew lad, this is going to be a wild ride, isn't it?

Nagle is just an old-school socialist who doesn't see anything relevant in cultural "leftist" politics and radical liberalism. Post-Marxists have utterly failed to impact economic policy or the conditions of the average worker and should be discarded, hopefully for a sober re-evaluation of the project of economic transformation. We should be thinking about how societies that abolish market exchange can survive, how to transform the state into collectives of genuine democratic control etc., these questions were too easily ceded to the liberals.

Veeky Forums reading group now?

They freaked out because she criticizes tumblr and admits that Veeky Forums is right about some things.

She's a female Christopher Lasch. I know of no higher praise.

All those books you listed are shit, btw. Capitalist Realism is a joke.

Marxism is a dead-end though. What's preventing the inevitable collapse of capital? Not enough technology? Not enough ibads?

I fully intend to read it and to share my favourite parts on this thread.

>This online backlash was able to mobilize a strange vanguard of teenage gamers, pseudonymous swastika-posting anime lovers, ironic South Park conservatives, anti-feminist pranksters, nerdish harassers and meme-making trolls whose dark humor and love of transgression for its own sake made it hard to know what political views were genuinely held and what were merely, as they used to say, for the lulz.
>mfw

Fucking hell.

this seems like an interesting short read tbqh

marxism is a dead end but she can be redeemed, she is not one of those autistic marxists that ignores anything that doesn't fit their theory

haven't read the book yet, but i kinda like her line of thought that the left fell too hard for the "counterculture" and "transgression" meme, and now the right has kind of defeated them at that game

holy based assumptions poster you redeem us all within the depths of your ignorance

>when you write a book about baboons but the baboons learn to read and find a copy of it

First world Marxism is a dead-end, outside of western capitalism it has a lot to offer.

>she is not one of those autistic marxists that ignores anything that doesn't fit their theory

wow, i'd like to meet this marxism you speak of, i don't see anything but dogmatic dead-ends or retarded idpol

Sorel was right about Marxism.

there's no outside of western capitalism

t. white male larping as a revolutionary

face it, marxism is dead.

China begs to differ. If you don't recoil from Marxist texts then you should this article:
marxistleninist.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/a-question-of-state-revolution-china-market-socialism/

True story: this is a required book for a course at my college called “conservatism in america”

>Malign Velocities
Meh, it's a good book if you want to know more about accelerationism, but, other than that it's a really tedious book

I don't live in the West but nice assumptions fag.

> dude, china is socialist!

pfffttt hahahahah

the absolute state of marxist delusion

so market socialism, that seems perfectly integrated with western capitalism to me, but prove me wrong if you want

is the teacher actually conservative or at least considering conservatism on its own terms?

China's capitalism is even more capitalist than western capitalism, which is why people like Nick Land have a major hard on for China.

No marxist that isn't a maoist third-worldist neocolonial idiot actually believes this.

i'm kind of hoping to see the day when the genetically engineered 7'5" 220 IQ Chad chink overlords will take over while we quibble about the new black panther movie

It's anti-imperialist and state capitalist. It's sort of like early USSR when it was building its productive forces, but China is doing it for the long-term. We can't say how it will end up yet but China is undoubtedly positive for countries who want to exercise real self-determination.

Welp, after having read the intro I think I've caught the tone of this book. While blatantly leftist, this gal is actually trying to soberly translate /ourculture/ (which is to say, chan culture) into something that normies can understand (or at least as soberly as one can talk about fucking frog memes and /pol/). In this light I'd find it a good read, or at least I'd recommend it to some of my leftist friends if they were interested in understanding chan culture, as this gal seems to speak their language.

Imma keep reading it, seems interesting enough once you get past the memery.

>What's preventing the inevitable collapse of capital
The expansion of credit as well as globalism have both played an important role, who cares if the system needs to expand slavery so long as it's in a far away country.
Honestly id argue that we're seeing it play out slowly, at least in America, politics exists as these sort of weird cargo cults in varying stages of denial that the golden age is over and it's not coming back. We just don't talk about it in those terms because there isn't any money to be made from it

>It's anti-imperialist

please, stop.

capitalism has given us enough technology as it is, i dont get what you cucks are waiting for why you continue to justify it

>The alt-right is, to varying degrees, preoccupied with IQ, European demographic and civilizational decline, cultural decadence, cultural Marxism, anti-egalitarianism and Islamification but most importantly, as the name suggests, with creating an alternative to the right-wing conservative establishment, who they dismiss as ‘cuckservatives’ for their soft Christian passivity and for metaphorically cuckholding their womenfolk/nation/race to the non-white foreign invader.
kek

That deosn't look like L'ANOMIE to me.

>china is anti-imperialist

wew lad

>It's anti-imperialist
Yeah, and they're willing to go to war with Taiwan just because muh clay

>anti-imperialist
>unironically buying africa, australia and canada piece by piece
made me kek

>To understand the seemingly contradictory politics of Veeky Forums, Anonymous and its relationship to the alt-right, it is important to remember that the gradual right-wing turn in chan culture centered around the politics board /pol/, as compared to the less overtly political but always extreme ‘random’ board /b/. Along the way left-leaning ‘moral fags’ who had gravitated towards AnonOps IRCs suffered from a degree of state spying and repression during the height of Anonymous’s public profile from around 2010 to 2012. This absence of the more libertarian left-leaning element within chan culture created a vacuum in the image boards that the rightist side of the culture was able to fill with their expert style of anti-PC shock humor memes.
i'm still keking at finding "moral fags" written in an actual book, thanks for pointing me to this

Telling someone to kill is morally and legally wrong, especially against normal people. Thus, this book, I'm reporting to the FBI. There's no indication it's a joke. We ought to take these statements more seriously.

>everyone that disagrees with me is a virgin
Really groundbreaking scholarship from a woman right here.

If god wanted us to listen to what women think of us, then why did he invent the mute button?

Checkmate atheists.

If god created a perfect universe categorized by any given set or combination of ten different numerals, then why did he invent for our pleasure these repeating digits?

Checkmate, Paul Allen

come here mods

it's a book you retard

>it's a book so it's literature
No
I bet you have even read the Lauren book. Jeez.

that's a harsh meme you got there friendo

one of the more accurate depictions of the alt right I've seen

Read the sticky please. The whole thread is political "discussion" if you can call it that way, since most of you are just throwing buzzwords and insults at each other. This is even worse than the Peterson threads. Also as the other user said, not every book is literature. 48 laws of power/How to win friends/12 rules threads shouldn't even be allowed on this board for example

So we are only allowed to discuss works of societal critique if they're not particularly relevant?

so what? i don't see you on this marx thread complaining for it being political

>Veeky Forums is right about some things.
No she didn't. If anything she is using the two sides of coin criticism

It all starts out ironic and then it becomes real.

Not since the Bain crash where memes transcended reality
I am actually quite surprised that the author didn't referenced that meme since it was the biggest non-political meme that followed the trend she was illustrating

She had some good insights, but still ultimately made the same mistake that any "outsider" (sounds gay as fuck but what else can you call them) makes, which is to take a literalist interpretation of what are otherwise hyperbolic metaphors.

>backlash she's gotten from the left

sources please, very curious

Where have I said that, user?
>appeal to hypocrisy
Really sorry if I hit a nerve and I hope you know that doesn't make your thread any more Veeky Forums. Also I wasn't aware the marx thread existed but I wouldn't be too worried, marx threads don't live too long.

Nagle is a pseudoanon, of the type that clicks around on /b/ and /pol/ and maybe /v/ for a couple months and then goes on an Encyclopaedia Dramatica binge before churning out her first impressions for a wider audience. She is a step above places like The Atlantic which find the stupidest posts possible to screenshot and use those to dismiss the entire site and its actually quite complex dialectic (even /pol/ has thesis, antithesis and synthesis playing out across its threads constantly and knowledge and consensus is built on top of itself creating a rich tapestry of memes). Still, she fails to understand the cultural context of most of the things she sees here, and so she misses subtle nuance that could better equip her to reach out to the political elements she finds distasteful on Veeky Forums.
This is a good example - a lack of societal inhibition on saying inflammatory things (indeed, almost a social pressure to say the most ridiculous things so as to distinguish your post from the thousands of faceless others) has brought the level of discourse on Veeky Forums to preposterous heights of insult and overstatement (OP is a ginormous cocksucking faggot and this thread made me vomit all over my cat).
Nagle is the type of person to use a tripcode and start a strawpoll or a "survey thread" asking for "honest opinions pls". She is well meaning and working in good faith, but still ensnared by culture shock.

The solutions are two sides of the same coin, but she agrees with some of the critiques presented by e-reactionaries.

No she doesn't. She literally makes a difference between those who are just memeing and those who are sincere. One of the big questions she asks is in what political direction will go the ones who were only in it for the memes.

Are there any other books about the alt-right phenomenon?

How does it feel to know that normies think /pol/ is the face of Veeky Forums and that most anons are probably racist alt-righters?

read the book SIEGE by NS revolutionary James Mason. the most revolutionary and uncompromising classic for White nationalists fighting ZOG everywhere.

youtube.com/watch?v=JrWhpSbVmmE

So you're implying you aren't?

It's still a step up from /b/ t b h

Not exactly what I was looking for.

The news gives you 5% of what’s going on and even that’s distorted.

The Iron Cross is far above and beyond the cross of wood.

The government of the U.S. is at war with their children and the powers of nature and God, and have grown so far and above their own judgements that the Waffen SS are coming back from space left over in dreams.

See, you got to realize there’s no slack in my act … You don’t know how to survive. You’re weak. You have emotions, you play little games with your mind. You chase your tail.

– Charles Manson

Charlie did nothing wrong.

>Not exactly what I was looking for.
You're looking for somebody to spoonfeed you analysis of a poorly defined and contemporary phenomenon? Regardless of your views if you want to understand the psyche of the "alt-right" you should read their works, otherwise you're just dealing in hearsay.

Didn't Zero Books get bought by someone and their editorial line changed

Zero Books. Where you go to "self publish", when no other house wants your shit.

Okay it's time for someone to redpill me about Zero Books apparently. What's wrong with them?

>Capitalist Realism
>Mental illnesses are because of capitalism!
Is there any psuedoscience Marxists won't gobble up uncritically?

pol/posters aren't even white
amerimutts are delusional

Yeah, You'd rather listen to good old doctor Finkenstein, good goy that you are. SSRIs/Prescription=ZOG emasculation pills

its cool how you don’t have to be lucky or intelligent to know secrets anymore, you can just beg and leverage the social contract to get vital information

lol this is so embarassing

Shut up

I've read it but it's neither a masterpiece nor the 'book of our generation.'

drugs are designed to kill your sex drive/male agression and make you into an easily manageable low t nu male

>this gal is actually trying to soberly translate /ourculture/ (which is to say, chan culture) into something that normies can understand
how did you not pick up on that from the fucking cover you absolute specimen

>tfw no drunk Irish author gf to beat up bad poets and slur her filthy r9k pick up lines into your ears
