ruth ozeki has 1 good book and 1 halfway good book
The Tale of Genji
What’s your favourite by Kang? The Vegetarian didn’t really stand out to me.
Also OP if you’re okay with female asians living in the US then Julie Otsuka is great.
I highly recommend the novel Manazuru by Hiromi Kawakami
No, they know their place, that's why they make the best waifus
Human Acts is very good, much better than the Vegetarian.
what's it about and why did you like it?
It's about a woman who's husband disappeared about a decade ago. She's still in mourning after all this time and becomes inexplicably drawn to this small seaside town, searching for answers. There's a bit of magical realism, she keeps having eerie visions and so on.
I loved the prose, it's very evocative and melancholic. There's not much plot desu, it's basically a mood piece about mourning and family ties.
I want to learn everything about the spartans
Their breastfeeding habits, their sleep and exercise routines, their diets, their daily routines, their clothes, everything about their culture.
shit wrong thread
they buggered boys and were panically afraid of their own slaves. that's all you need to know so you don't have to make a new thread.
I thought they mocked Athenians for buggering boys and would only bugger men.
