Can someone explain to me how anyone can be an unironic communist in this day and age? Doesnt the body count turn you off? Worst of all intellectuals who still back this regime are somehow still taken seriously. For example it is impossible to be taken seriously as a fascist or a nazi (rightfully) or even a monarchist. But somehow being a communist is not just legitimate, it even improves your social mobility in academia. There have to be some pretty big fish that have a vested interest in continuing the ideology of communism and marxism behind it.

My question: are there examples of women's movements not in the west that have suffered similar fates? Succeeded into absurdity and self parody?
