The subtile message behind this painting
who else browses these threads just downloading pictures they like
Goya's black paintings are frightening.
I do but I also try to give recommendations if I can
> artist literally going deaf
> begins to grow cynical of humanity
> buys a villa literally called "house of the deaf"
> his dining room is full of artworks not intended for anyone else to see and instead of drawing qt anime waifus he painted images of death, destruction, war and malice
Any books similar to this feel?

Well she has a mask in her right hand and a pomegranate which she seems to offer in the other.
I see the mask as a blatant lie, and the pomegranate sure has a sweet taste but its after-taste is bitter.
You can't be sure she's puting the mask or taking it out, I think she's putting it because the fruit has no bite marks yet : it's open, waiting to be eaten, under her disdainful eyes you're gazing in.
The lie is known but the illusion is enough to simulate reality, which is indeed sad or pathetic I guess.
On a purely personal point of view, I see the women you speak to just because they're good looking, knowingly that's the quality you like from them, sticking to an artificial happiness.
*only quality you like from them
