H.G. Wells

What do you think of H.G. Wells, Veeky Forums? I've been reading his stories lately, and I'm impressed at the accuracy of some of his ideas about the future.

I've never read any of his books but heard the world brain was good. I've been meaning to find a copy. I just looked at his list of fiction and holy shit I didn't know he wrote so many. Anyone know if the stories are written well and if the characters are not flat? I'd give him go for an easy read.

Only thing I've read by him is The Island of Dr Moreau, which was pretty good

Had to read this for a class on Victorian and Gothic literature and wasn't very fond of it.

What do you recommend reading by him?

Mind at the end of its tether

I've only read The Time Machine and it seemed like pretty standard XIXth lit.

When I read War of the Worlds I thought it was the most incomprehensible book I'd ever read.

Maybe it's because I read it aged 11 and never been to London

Superb storyteller.
The Shape of Things to Come or The War of the Worlds

The Chronic Argonauts

Globalist prick

The Invisible Man was best. Time Machine was pretty crap. Slip Under Microscope was ok, Door in the wall was great. I believe his other novels are crap.

this, he was a genocidal freak

So far my favorite stories of his have been The Crystal Egg, The Door in the Wall, A Dream of Armageddon, and A Story of the Days to Come

He's legitimately my favorite author of all time, aside from enjoying old sci-fi works I share like 99% of his political viewpoints, and so most of his shit just clicks with me.

I'd recommend this to anybody interested in him, it's a great documentary.

A collection of some of his short stories was the first book I ever read.
>ever

Is his history of the world any good? Anything like Will Durant's?

>wrote British war propaganda

B E A D Y

oh this is what the /pol/ faggots meant by genocide. they committed genocide against the slavs and jews and then lost 2 million people in the aftermath of their genocide and then cry that they are being genocided. I see

I've just read his big four. All worthwhile reads.

Where would I go from there?

His short stories are pretty good too imo, at least the ones I've bothered to read.
>In the Abyss
>Empire of the Ants
>The Valley of the Spiders
>The Crystal Egg
>The Sea Raiders
