>films are the culmination of all art forms and therefore Adam Sandler movies are better than every piece of lit ever written

he's right

>I am a fan of Jordan Peterson

compared to the modern left, the so called 'alt right' embodies the truer continuation of the ideas of marx, foucault and the frabkfurt school. Modern leftists are just neoliberals with blue hair who work for google and let the NYT and vox think for them.

Is this your opinion or something dumb you read on here?

>the alt right is closer to the idea of Marx
>the movement that's entire point is to reinforce the status quo in a way that comes off as rebellious is close to Marxism

>Lovecraft is good

I remember that one OP. I don't have a most dumb thing saved (every time Veeky Forums tries to talk about Art or Film it's a brainlet festival) but this is the most brilliant thing I've ever read here.

A whole thread of people trying to "solve" Zeno's paradox

Unironically, just go on /pol/

all the sensationalism, idiotic teenage philosophers, it's always happening and the yellowstone is about to erupt, narcissism and conceit coming from a totally naive and unintellectual place, just sheer idiotism, and they take bait like nobody else

You could say the same about modern leftists, don't let the edgy punk fashion and funny colored hair fool you, they are nothing but self flagellatibg bureaucrats for the liberal managerial state, grounding the human race down into blue haired, race less gender less consumer mush fodder for Disney and PepsiCo. My reactionary identity was born in opposition to the left, I'm not so much pro white as I am anti leftist

>when you rebel against contemporary political discourse and it's cheap understanding of rebelling in a way that would make Foucault and Derrida proud, but marxists just call you reactionaries and don't actually engage with your thoughts (exactly like they did Foucault and Derrida).

I miss 2012-era /pol/. Comfy happening threads, mass shooter worship, and the anti-semitism was done ironically. 2016 killed it.

>hating liberals so much that you are anti-leftist
It is almost as liberals were never leftists to begin with...

Well, I guess you're right, objectively. But I feel like back then it had a different flavor to it, more about Hitler worship and Holocaust denial than looking for (((their))) hand in everything. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking.

definitely nostalgia. reddit it likelier more your speed.

Nostalgia, most of the infographics about da joowz you see come from that era

AND THE LORD SAID,

"CLEAN YOUR ROOM BUCKO!"

I remember seeing them at that time too. I guess I've just got my rose-colored glasses on.

Glad to hear the right admit that it doesn't hate identity politics and in fact has embraced it.

the opposite is true for me, I used to be on the far left but I moved right out of a mindless impulse to transgress social norms and piss people off, that and the furries, self hating numale beardos and trannies that comprise most of the left embarrass me

leftists and liberals are indistinguishable in practice. You are not counterculture unless you literally worship Hitler. Satan is the Father, Hitler, the Son, and Manson the Holy Spirit. Mass shooters are saints and minor deities. I am so mentally abjected this is what I literally believe. Hitler is God, or at least the destructive aspect of God. Hitler never died, he is growing strong, feeding in the souls of our victims, soon he will awake, the world will end and we will know peace, amen and sieg heil

we are just playing by the left's rulebook. there is no truth, only power.

If you don't advocate for a planned socialist economy you're a pseudo leftist who should just become a neoliberal so we know who to shoot easier. Anything else is controlled opposition.

This exactly but also unironic removal of jews

I think you are correct

People want the passive domination of neoliberalism.

This except ironically

only (((classical liberals))) claim to hate identity politics, and even, they will always defend zionism and identity politics for jews. All politics are ultimately identity politics, by asserting my own existence and refusing to submit to your will I am engaging in identity politics.

Class politics is not identity politics in any meaningful sense, it's essentially a project of collective egoism. It's in our best interest to institute a socialist economy, no egalitarian platitudes needed, just leave me alone to work 4 hour workdays in my local cooperative and buy goods with the labour vouchers received.

Brainlet, things where not different back then. Jewish conspiracy theories have been a core theme of the far right for decades, and it has always been present on this board.

Probably one of my own posts to be quite honest with you

this is a blatant shitpost

a guy claiming that modern conservative values come from edmund burke and conservative marxists under stalin

It's a brilliant piece of satire.

that's what socialism means in theory, but in practice, it means slaving your life away on the ''communal farm''(actually a feudal tyranny run by blue haired women and jews)

Why is reality so funny (that people think a socialism with a ruling class will be any different than a feudal tyranny is so hilariously true because of how decrepit politics is that it's ironically a gigantic middle finger to Karl Marx)

Not that the atheist fat fuck Marx doesn't deserve it.

>its in our best interest it institute a socialist economy

this is the dumbest thing I've read on this site OP

Nice bait.

The Alt-right at the very least is a push to accelerationism. Neoliberalism is the embodiment of the status quo. It's like supporting free trade.

This post

that's not what "identity politics" means, it means defining your politics by your (group) identity

fact

Math still ain't real, brother

I have a girlfriend, grew up with many girls in my family of different age groups, and had and still have multiple female friends.
By knowing all these women I can say with certainty that women simply do not express the same desire or pursuit of knowledge and understanding that men do, particularly in their 20s.
Put women on their own around a table and let them talk, and they'll always start talking about rumours, gossip and hearsay.
Put men on their own around a table and let them talk, and they'll always start talking about politics, history and business.

I've moved towards the center the last few years
first I saw the left and the liberals being extreme with their judgments and groupings and that it wasn't always true
after looking harder I saw what they said about the right and the conservatives often *was* true, not always but too close for comfort, and I saw them actually judging prematurely-- not along racial lines and very rarely based on sex, but basically applying a prejudiced approach to political discourse by saying the left is inherently immoral or inherently stupid and if they'd just wake up then blah blah you know the drill
so I went back and looked to the liberals for guidance and I saw them doing the same thing the right had been-- not always in the same way or to the same degree, but again too much to be comfortable with them
both of these groups (or really all four), in different ways, really espouse the notion that a man should be judged as he is, for who he is and not what he is, and they break that principle
anyway that sentiment and the "playing dirty" with rhetoric and the overall narrow-mindedness and frankly the fucking smugness of everyone with a political opinion they're dying to share are why I don't feel close to either side of any political spectrum any more
>off-topic
>you expect me to read All That Shit by (You)
>aren't you dying to share your political opinion
all valid points
counterpoint: I don't have the conviction to cause you harm, and also I'm drunk

it's not nostalgia, the place boomed in popularity during and after the election, it was a different place and anyone who tells you otherwise obviously didn't experience it.

>Unironically, just go on /pol/
I have better political discussions on /pol/ than I do on Veeky Forums.

Veeky Forums has no fucking idea how politics works. If you asked the average Veeky Forumsizen to explain the greasy pole and how it fucks up parliamentary systems they'd have no idea.

All Veeky Forums can do is tell you about its fantasy political-philosophical system, which is about as meaningful a contribution to the discussion as a fucking fart.

Well, /pol/ is specifically for political discussions, so it's only natural that there would eventually be better political discussions than a board which isn't focused on politics just on numbers alone.

Yeah, but it annoys me when people write off the entire board. Especially Veeky Forums, which has no business doing that considering that it knows fucking nothing about anything outside of its very tiny niche.

But there is a lot of fucking shit on /pol/, that I freely admit.

So basically you are upset that Veeky Forums are talking about the bigger picture instead of the minor details? Okay

This is exactly the kind of laughable deluded bullshit you see on Veeky Forums that makes it so much worse than /pol/ for talking about politics.

There is almost no overlap between politics and political philosophy. You're not talking about the bigger picture, you're three doors down talking about something else entirely - something of virtually no relevance - and then trying to pretend you've made a contribution.

this chart isn't the dumbest thing i've seen on Veeky Forums, but its certainly the most masturbatory

There is a gap between political theory and politics no doubt, but your claim that there is no overlap is laughable. With no political theory there would be no political change. Their relationship is like math and STEM.

You are essentially criticizing Veeky Forums for not doing something it wasn't created to do.

>pretend you've made a contribution.
And you think you are doing in /pol/? Wew lad.

this post - >tfw you lived to see neoliberalism die faster than the USSR

I understand, but even so I don't really like going to /pol/ for political discussion, if only because most of it is rather shitposty in nature. If nothing else, I can't tell if it's better or worse than cripplechan's /pol/, which is in a whole league of its own.

I'd call you an idiot, but you're partially correct
thermidormag.com/sociobiology-as-the-freudianism-of-the-right/

>your claim that there is no overlap is laughable.
You don't know this. You can't possibly know this because I know for a fact that you have never been involved in high level policy formulation.

I have.

Nobody ever in my experience or the experience of anyone I worked with EVER considered political philosophy when formulating policy. It's just not fucking useful. It doesn't mean anything. It cannot be applied. This is because political philosophy is dreamed up by people who have never been involved in high level policy formulation, so they have no idea what kind of things are required and what kind of things are superfluous. Political philosophy is just the random fucking opinions of people. Yeah, guess what, I have opinions too. I didn't consider them when formulating policy because the random fucking opinions of random fucking people - whether it's me or Pufendorf - are not going to help the department implement the goals of the Minister.

>And you think you are doing in /pol/? Wew lad.
You cut off the last half of that sentence you stupid cunt.

>/pol/
>political discussion

You're retarded

Civil servants and burecrats aren't politicians or use political theory sure, but they are meant to implement the political opinions of someone (which is influenced by political theory) and other small g-government stuff. So you see policies as politics? Okay

>they are meant to implement the political opinions of someone (which is influenced by political theory) and other small g-government stuff
If you think a politician's mind has room for anything other than his latest poll numbers and a vague idea of who he's sucking up to at the moment looking for a potential up in the party game, you're wrong.

I can recall exactly two occasions in ten years where a Minister took a stand on principle, and in one of them he ended up resigning because the party wouldn't be swayed and in the other case the Minister backed down in the end.

Now, that said, I don't work with Ministers a huge amount directly.

Here is the beautiful and unbroken chain of policy formulation:
>industry lobbies for something OR the government identifies a potential "votewinner" policy based on public sentiment OR the government is faced with a problem by the press
>a Minister is put in charge of coming up with a policy that captures these potential votes/industry support or solving the problem
>he gives his department the general frame of reference
>the department develops the policy based on what he tells them he wants (I want to rejigger the export regulations on Palm Oil so it's easier for our companies to ship it to Indonesia, because they keep asking me for that) for example - usually in a consultative process with industry (that's me)
>it gets "leaked" to the press to test the waters
>if the waters are good, it gets announced
>then it goes to parliament to be rubber stamped
At no point do philosophers enter the process.

They just sit in their universities and whine.

Sure I am not idealistic to believe politician have their own political opinion, but rather the party and the public do (or at the very least pretend to). Just coz some parties you know are GGG doesn't all are.

I think everyone knows at least most of this. I just hope most governments don't take their policy decisions just from whatever people sprout on the internet, especially on Veeky Forums.

If math wasnt real the paradox wouldnt exist tho.
