I know this is not really a Veeky Forums topic, but I trust this board's intelligence, so here goes: what's your favorite anime?

Texhnolyze, but Gurren Lagann and Evangelion have a special place in my heart. Ghost in the Shell if we're counting movies.

This board is painfully stupid. I'm the only intelligent person here.
This is the best anime. I've explained why numerous times.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Why mad, bro?
Nope. Back to /pol/.
>LotGH is /pol/
Go back to not existing
I loved Inuyasha when it was on Adult Swim.
kys underage b8

>I trust this board's intelligence
pfffhahahahahahaaha!
Monster, Mushishi, and Bebop.
Bakemonogatari
NGE, K-On, Spirited Away
Queen’s Blade baby.
Sublime taste
Haibane Renmei. Honorary mentions Lain, Cowboy Bebop and Sora no Woto
Konohana Kitan
Mononoke
LotGH
Gundam
Ping Pong
Azumanga
What do you think of Yuasa's other stuff?
Does evangelion ever get good? I stopped a few episodes in because I couldn't stop cringing. Trigun is my favorite.
Steins Gate, Shion no ou, Mariya Holic
It does, yes.
Ergo Proxy
Ghost in The Shell
Paranoia Agent
Elfen Lied
Serial Experiments Lain
Which Gundam in particular? The series ranges dramatically in quality
Tried watching Devilman Crybaby and dropped it after the 3rd episode, it was an extremely weak adaptation of Devilman, haven't watched any of his older works, but plan on doing so once I get a decent internet connection.
I particularly like Zeta, though I won't deny that the Original series is also top tier.
King of the Hill
monster
The correct answer is .
That and Carnival Phantasm.
A true patrician
The Tatami Galaxy
Subtitles are way to fast for me to process the information enough to enjoy the show.
Serial Experiments Lain
git gud
kara no kyoukai
It was on Adult Swim 18 years ago. How am I underage?
kiss x sis
Tatami Galaxy is fantastic if you can speed-read subs.
I had the same issue. Had to pause and rewind a couple of times for the first episode. I don't know if they slowed down or if I got used to it, because by the second episode I didn't have to do it again.
dae le reddit!?!?1??!
Awful series belong on shitholes like /pol/. Go back
Absolute retard
Absolute retard
What a fucking embarrassment of a thread. You are all easily impressed by surface-level drama and aesthetics. No wonder you are so impressed by absolute garbage like Pychon.
Evangelion gets good in the episode named after Kierkegaard's "Sickness Unto Death." EoE is fantastic and deserves its praise; I still have nightmares about it.
>Texhnolyze
What's so special about it?
I've been meaning to check it out but I'm a little sick of cyberpunk for the moment.
I don't endorse this image, but someone made it.
>Shirokuma Cafe
Endlessly rewatchable — endearing humor and clean, focused aesthetic.
>Great Teacher Onizuka
Uneven quality, but has some great laughs once it gets going.
>Welcome to the NHK!
Depressing and a slightly guilty pleasure: the story is a little too neat to be realistic, but too realistic to be pure fantasy.
>Ouran Koukou Host-Club
Good romance anime, borrows the best from Rose of Versailles.
>Steins;Gate
The first few episodes are enough to put anyone off, but it has the best time-travel mechanics I've ever seen/read.
>KareKano
Hideaki Anno does Umaru right.
>Baccano!
The historical thesis of Tolstoy in W&P, but whirlwind.
>any Satoshi Kon work
'Nuff said.
The Monogatari series is a perfect mix of low- and middlebrow enjoyment; it achieves exactly that at which it aims, and maybe even more. Easily in my top 10; good taste, user. Did you ever get into Puella Magi? It was too much for my sensibilities.
Incredibly profound narration and thematical exploration. Aesthetically wise it's one of the best things I've ever watched, both the visual and audio part are top notch. The ending is soul crushing, one of the few moments in anime that manages to be sentimental without being saccharine. The only flaw is that it's a bit slow. I wouldn't really call it cyberpunk.
Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu was pretty neat
>the story is a little too neat to be realistic, but too realistic to be pure fantasy.
I guess that comes from it effectively being a self insert fantasy of the author's life. Some of the arcs in the anime/manga were pretty bad though, the novel gets to the point far better.
Nice, I'll check it out.
It and Ergo PRoxy are both shows I just never checked out.
Definately checking out Texhnolyze though.
sorry I'm drunk
also Dub or Sub?
