I have a Phd in Spanish literature. I'm telling you it is pronounced Down Key-hot-ay. It's how all the top-tier Cervantes scholars I've known say it.
Well my spanish teacher in highschool who lived in Mexico for a while pronounced it Don-Key-Hote-Ay so that's all I know.
