Actually being next to others, specially people in need, is going to dispel whatever kindness you can develop inside your heart. So stay way from others mostly

Bump for interest. I'm kind of jaded and cynical, and because of that I'm afraid I don't fully appreciate the emotional force of good literature.

Consider every aspect of it.
Being kind comports obbligations and constant humiliation, but still you will get more respected and less picked on.

Your life is already ruined if you havent developed natural empathy past 16. Read Bhagavad Gita or Dharmapada, stop eating meat (watch enough slaughter house videos and you'll develop empathy).

If you drink alcohol or anything else that takes away your sensitivity/makes you numb, then stop immediantly.
