To be honest I kinda like it. I can't wait until fiber optic lighting becomes more practical in clothing, it'll be a really cool field for designers to experiment in.
I actually looked into playing around with the material myself, but the limitations are currently too extreme. The fabric can't be folded (that would ostensibly include stretching, sitting, etc.). Also, the light effect is somewhat lost during the daytime.
I've been kinda debating whether the fabric could be more or less "floated" on top of a base lycra layer or something like that. It would hypothetically minimize movement.
