When I first saw the movie in 2010 i asked myself if those shoes were fake and if it was just a srylistic device of the producer to portrait Huberts poorness. I think it would be the best,like you already said, to ask someone who worked for the film. Good luck

From what I've found, they were sold by reebok as a 'Casual Shoe' without a specific model name. Reebok has done a number of styles under this title and they generally get lost in history
