No. Government intervention is a wildly destructive force.

Is there anything good in this country that can't be directly tied to government meddling?

Name one good thing government has done pham

The Government is the enemy though.

The interstate highway system.

>muh GOVERNMENT GOOD
>muh GOVERNMENT BAD
Stay pleb, Amerifats

That couldn't have been done without the fucking government? You think the mayors and the governors and the President and the congressmen were out there pouring asphalt?

Who else would be able to coordinate something so massive and costly, which would be difficult to make money off of?

You mean that horribly maintained death trap that kills thousands every year?

Tbh I come from Yurop and the only highway system superior to the US I've ever seen was the German one.

Well they invented the interstate so that's only to be expected

The stupidness of the people? That's at least half-way genetically determined

you need to explain why government is at fault of all of those if you want to be taken seriously.

i don't think you want to be taken seriously. i think this is just meant to be a bait thread.

Something i have defficulties to understand is what is USA governement, or who lead the country? It is of course not politician whose look more like puppet... You choose pest or cholera

I'll give you terrorism and national debt is a spook, inflation is natural and shouldn't be seen as detrimental

This is what Ayn Craps actually believe

>inflation is natural

Keynes pls

As long as wages go up then capitalism will be fine, if not the capitalists won't be in power much longer

really win, win

>Crime?
Obviously has nothing to do with the government, it's people which the govt fails to control, you think if they legalize drugs or what ever your beef is crime will just disappear? Crime is a symptom of a disease much greater than the govt, the only way to abolish crime is to abolish the laws and create a society which doesn't need to break laws.

>Poverty?
What? What does this even mean? Global poverty? Or national poverty? Governments cannot force people to make the 'right' choice.

>Unemployment?
Again, what? Unless the government has business under it's control how can it actually have an effect on employment rates? Sure they can introduce policies but that will not make actual business pay more for shitter workers. I guess you can say since they force people to pay 'white' workers more that business do not want to hire them a fault but that's simple economics, there will always be people undercutting to acquire more work.

>Obesity?
This is the funniest one yet, are you telling me the govt are forcing all you fatties to get fatter? hahahahahaha fucking hilarious.

>Stupidity?
See above, ignorance is not on the government to cure, you have the worlds knowledge at your finger tips but you use it to go on facebook and share photos of food, how is that the fault of the govt?

>Terrorism?
I guess? Your government are terrorists when you turn the table.

>National debt?
You understand how modern day economics work? Govts do not control the economics of the world, so how can they be at fault? Do you want roads? Do you want improvement in your society? then debt is the only way to achieve it in this world.

>Inflation?
See above.

> Governments cannot force people to make the 'right' choice.
They can force people to make the bad choice. Just look on North Korea and African shitholes.

Capitalism marketing shitty cheap food, and the poor only being able to afford cheap shitty food.
>Terrorism
US imperialism.
>National debt
Porkies needing the government to cover their ass.

The solution is obvious.

So... Why there is even a government if it does jackshit from your point of view.

>So... Why there is even a government if it does jackshit from your point of view.
You missed my point, they do everything. Or at least they do as much as they can given the people they are meant to govern.

>poor only able to afford shitty food
As a Veeky Forumsfag I find that claim fucking retarded

Afford doesn't just mean money wise, it's very cheap to make your own bread and shit. But you also need to account for time.

If you work long hours for little pay obviously you're going to just go for the most economical option as opposed to worrying about what's healthy.

>Is there anything wrong with this country that can't be directly tied to government meddling and mistakes?

DEAR GOD! GOVERNMENT AGENTS ON THE FUCKING MOON?! WHO'S THE INCOMPETENT SLUG RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?!

I'm not talking about making your own bread and shit
And maybe those fat cunts should spend some of their time on their feet making something themselves, instead of ordering another supersized burger

>Serious question
Why is this always said before the most retarded posts?

This

If you work a hard ass job for jack shit every day it's easier to go to McDonalds and get a combo for 6 bucks than it is to go home and cook a healthy meal. My dad has a very proletarian job and he never cooks on weekdays because he's too tired to do anything

>Just make something of yourself, bro.

They're already spending 8-12 hours a day working their ass off, the problem is their ass doesn't burn enough calories working anymore because of automation. Still 8-12 hours of monotony will make you not want to/have the energy to sit there and get on your feet to make a good meal for an hour. Plus since men and women have to work to maintain a moderately good life you end up with neither spouse being able to actually have the will or energy to make a meal

Alright then, even if you're a fatty inept sack of shit that cant cook for himself maybe you should go get some fast food, just try not shoveling thousands upon thousands of calories down your fat fucking neck

Most fat people are fat because choose to be, rich or poor

Your mentality is basically everything wrong with America.

>implying baked beans are expensive and hard to cook
>implying people in this day and age want to eat the same thing over and over even though that's usualy the cheapest option
>implying it's hard work to water plants daily to grow pumpkins/potatoes/maize
>implying you know anything about what you are talking about.

People are fucking lazy, that's what it is, it has nothing to do with govt's. It has been and always will be the fault of the people. You can buy a case of baked beans for the cost of a few McDonalds meals.

>Inflation?
we hardly have a problem with inflation at the moment, fampai

>>Obesity
>Capitalism marketing shitty cheap food, and the poor only being able to afford cheap shitty food.
You're all chasing spooks. Obesity is a problem in every society regardless of how left or right it is. Cutting edge research suggests that it predominately has to do with an individual's metabolism. All of the research conducted on participants in the show "biggest loser" show that their metabolisms actually slowed down in response to weight loss and that the body actually fights back when its not at the weight that it thinks it needs to be at.

nytimes.com/2016/05/02/health/biggest-loser-weight-loss.html?_r=0

Evolution simply isn't keeping up with human technological progress, and no other human society in history has been surrounded with abundance as we are. This is a problem to be solved with superior medical science, not with feel good legislation nor with shameless moralizing.

>Most fat people are fat because choose to be, rich or poor
No one chooses to be fat, it happens because you just don't notice because you're too busy worrying about other things.

>Believing in the free choice spook
>Believing in the lolbertarian spook

You are so wrong it's painful

Obesity in the USSR, negligible.

Nuff said.

Says more about the incompetence of the Soviet Union's central government than anything. And I'm nobody's lolbertarian.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droughts_and_famines_in_Russia_and_the_Soviet_Union

>people don't choose to be fat, they just forget not to be fat
Wow, I forgot I put on 40 pounds! You can choose to eat less than your body requires to lose weight, or eat more to gain weight, exercise will help burn calories.
It's your choice to be fat or not, and it's your fault if you become fat, unless you've got something like a thyroid issue, and even then, you can still lose weight, or simply not gain it in the first place
Course now there's talk about overactive thyroids, all the fatties like to claim they suffer, because they always wanna pass the buck, blame someone or something else

>Course now there's talk about overactive thyroids
Nah, it's a metabolic disorder, see the citation here You can be trim and still be unhealthy as fuck due to having a poor diet.

>People are fucking lazy
You've never worked a day of real work in your life, have you?

>You can choose to eat less than your body requires to lose weight
It's not that easy, if it were there would be no obesity because everyone WANTS to be fit

The problem is that people are hungry after work or at lunch and most people aren't as conscious as they should be about eating right

hey now, I'll have you know it's hard work convincing Dad to let me take the Porsce to the gym instead of the stupid beemer 3 series he bought for my birthday. And he even said that I can come work at his law firm after graduation, so fuck you!

Which leaves only them to blame, it's no one elses fault that they dont learn about nutrition
These poor fatties always seem to have iphones and shit, maybe they should spend some time on google

>a case of canned baked beans
Wrong meme, it's dried beans and rice. Canned baked beans are full of salt and sugar. They're worse for you than eating McDonald's every day.
>if poor people would only get off their asses and make a can of beans, they'd have nothing to worry about.
Wew lad.

>You can buy a case of baked beans for the cost of a few McDonalds meals
Implying you'd eat beans for the rest of your life
youtube.com/watch?v=VPIP9KXdmO0

Not OP but I'll take a crack at it, because it's all pretty much true

>Crime

Any society is going to have crime, but the government's role in creating and encouraging crime cannot be discounted. The reason America has so much crime today (and crime has been rising steadily since the 1960s, only stalling in the 1990s because of legalized abortion) is due in part to the fact that there are so many more laws to break. This may sound silly, but take the case of drug prohibition. Prior to the enacting of federal and state laws against the production, distribution and consumption of drugs, you did not prisons full of these types of offenders. Government has criminalized the use of drugs, but the only real world effect has been to increase the harm that drugs do. Why? Because the illegality of drugs makes them more expensive. This in turn makes a drug habit harder to support, which forces addicts to turn to crime in order to fund their habit. It's not complicated. The war on drugs has been an absolute disaster for the security of our inner cities.

>Poverty

Poverty is the default state of existence for any person. We are born into the world poor and uneducated. If we are fortunate, our parents give us something in the way of capital and knowledge. But most of us reach adulthood in relative poverty, because until that time we have not been in a position to produce anything. But why are so many people mired in poverty despite being fully grown? In the first place, bad schooling. The government has a monopoly on education throughout most of the country. Our public schools, like any other monopoly, produce a lousy product at a high cost. So people are going out into the world with no education with which to developer marketable skills. Secondly, the government enacts laws which discourage employers and other holders of capital from hiring or otherwise engaging a person with low skills in some kind of productive endeavor. Secondly, the government literally rewards/subsidizes people for not working through the various welfare programs. Insofar as the person fails to secure gainful employment, he is eligible for a benefit; if he does secure such employment, his benefit is reduced or taken away altogether. Thus the incentive to work is undermined by a guaranteed subsidy. All forms of welfare in this country should be abolished and replaced with a simple negative income tax.

cont

>Unemployment

Again, government meddling makes what should be a small problem an enormous one. Minimum wage laws are a form of legalized discrimination against workers with low skills; their effect is to price such workers out of the labor market. If a particular worker is capable of producing 5 dollars worth of goods and services per hour, but the minimum wage is 15 dollars an hour, than the only way he can be hired is if the employer is willing to pay him a wage of 5 dollars plus 10 dollars charity. There are very few businesses than can be convinced to pay their rank and file workers charity. They will simply hire someone with better skills who can rate the minimum wage.

cont

>Obesity

There is a strong body of evidence that the obesity epidemic in this country is largely a product of artificial sweeteners which are used in food and beverages. The United States has a long history of import quotas and tariffs on sugar stretching back to the 18th century. At times the domestic price of cane sugar in the United States has been twice the global market price. This, coupled with generous subsidies to domestic corn farmers, has served to make artificial sweeteners (such as HFCS) much cheaper alternatives to sugar in the United States, which is why almost every candy, beverage and junk food manufacturer uses them in place of sugar. Secondly, you have the horrendous quality of government lunches provided to school children, which are high in cheap artificial ingredients and low in actual nutrients, in addition to being generally awful and disgusting.

cont

>Stupidity

As was mentioned above, the government monopoly on education has served to produce a bad product at a high cost. Another significant issue which has a quasi-government angle is the power and influence of teacher’s unions, probably the most harmful unions in existence today. Their main effect has been to increase the cost of education while worsening the final product. Unions have made it ludicrously expensive (over 6 figures in most cases) to fire a bad educator. So instead, they are shuffled around, eventually ending up at the worst schools with the students whose low income, low education parents are not in a position to raise a fuss about the quality of their child’s education. This is called the ‘turkey trot’. Government education is also the reason we have so much financial incompetence in this country. It is in the government’s best interest that citizens have a poor grasp of economics, taxation, interest rates and so on; it allows the politicians to play their games and the special interest businesses (banks etc) to make their money.

cont

>Terrorism

There is no question that American foreign policy, specifically our ill-advised support for Israel, is responsible for the targeting of America and American cities by terrorist groups. Our relentless meddling in the Middle East, our propping up of dictators in the region and interference with local governments (deposing the Shah of Persia, for instance) has created an entire generation of hatred an animosity towards the United States. Our global image is substantially worse today than it was even 50 years ago.

>National debt

Most nations have debt, but we seem to have quite a lot. But this in itself is not a problem: the government spending that creates the debt is our major problem. Government spending at all levels (federal, state and local) has exploded since the 1930s; today government expends something like 45 percent of the national income. The debt has a positive function, however: interest payments keep money away from the congress to waste. If the debt were to disappear overnight, do you suppose the federal budget would contract by an amount equal to whatever the former interest payment was? Not a chance. They’d spend it on something else. Government creates the debt through relentless spending. It’s the spending that has to be curtailed. But past a certain point the debt will become a problem, because the only way it can be repudiated is through inflation.

cont.

>Inflation

Obviously there is only one entity that can create inflation, and that is the federal government. The money supply is entirely controlled by the federal reserve, which in turn answers to the federal government. We have gone through periods of high and low inflation. At present it is not catastrophic, but again, spending is the real problem. Total spending is the real tax on the America people. Whatever the government can’t finance through regular taxes and borrowing, it finances through inflation. To stop inflation, you have to reduce spending; to reduce spending, you have to reduce the size and scope of government.

actually nothing else to add, I covered everything :p

The "greed is good" mentality of corporate America abusing our economy in the later 20th century fucked America and the rest of the world for decades, so yes.

Government is made specifically to run people and is inherently imperfect. You're free to move to some deserted island or third world country if you hate government so much.

>muh greed

right, everyone in the world is greedy, except politicians and government officials.

No, politicians and government officials are incredibly greedy, which makes it that much fucking worse since that gives the rich near total power over them.

Right. So the clear solution is to take power away from the politicians and government officials, to limit the harm they can do in pursuit of their greed

>treating the symptoms and not the source

I thought you conservatards were against gun control.

What's the source m8

The unrestrained elite that hoard power and money and use it to control government to make things easier on the aristocracy.

If anything, this shitstorm started when the government didn't go out of their way to stop this illegal shit.

>America
>aristocracy

You wish, tubby. Your entire country is based on the abolishment of aristocracy and no, aristocrat is not a synonym for "rich guy."

>he's still a communist
lmao buddy, did you just turn 13?

Actually you don't have to reduce the size and scope of government so much as go through it with a fine tooth comb to weed out corruption and mismanagement.

The government loses billions every year on outdated tax breaks and tax loopholes that aren't closed. The military has lost billions of dollars over the past decade and they actually have no idea where it went. They literally have nothing to show for it, yet they're exempt from auditing.

The Social Security program is beyond antiquated.

The government right now could probably save near a trillion dollars a year without touching a cent of its actual spending if it were actually managed correctly.

>based on the abolishment of aristocracy
>was founded by aristocrats
>major presidential candidate running on the sole quality that he's rich

Nah I'm pretty sure it fits the definition pretty well.

>founded by aristocrats
>liberal pleb farmers are aristocrats now

Ey l'mao. You don't have aristocrats but you sure have goofy fucks who like to cosplay as ones, with the most cringey example being the southern planters.

I'm gonna blow your mind now, but you can be a nobleman and be shit poor and you can be a pleb who's extremely rich. Fascinating isn't it?

>The government right now could probably save near a trillion dollars a year without touching a cent of its actual spending if it were actually managed correctly.

Yeah and what are the fucking odds of that?

Government bureaucrats don't get paid in spite of government waste, they get paid because of it.

>pleb farmers
>George Washington was the owner of slaves, not peasant-tier commodity
>Same as Jefferson
>rest made of lawyers and white-collar jobs

I think the Founding Fathers are a far cry from the Old McDonalds you're making them out to be

See You don't have aristocracy, you have plutocratic oligarchy. Poor plebeians ruled by rich plebeians.

Idk if those are supposed to be Chetniks, Whites or that weird Anarcuck army.

Okay. Fucking semantics.

Doesn't change the fact that America has always been and founded by the rich for the rich.
