Im the guy in the photo. Just got mousey brown hair colour (natural) and I never used to use any product when this photo was taken. Using matte fibre shit though does just as good a job. The photo was taken pretty soon after a cut and I just used to put my palm on my head a move it in circular motion. It would give it a slight backcomb effect which gave it the messy volume. Hope this helps

I have similar hair. Keep it. You wont look as good as me tho.

I use incorrect terminology but I tell my barber to do a 2 on the sides and the back, sides have a blunt contrast like an undercut, but then get the back faded in. Make sure you get the top textured and leave a but if length on the fringe. Each place cuts different though. I've tried other barbers when moving around and no one seems to get it right apart from the guy I've been getting it cut with since I was a kid. If anyone else can translate into actual haircut terms im sure you'll have better luck

What should I do with hair like this???

I was thinking about showing your picture, and asking for an angular fringe.

Basically describing that I want it to separate on the sides at like the temple. And have the fringe have length and hang over on the sides. And have the back fade in. I was definitely going to ask for it to to be textured, and thinned a bit because my hair is very thick.

Also, is there any special way they do the sides? Because compared to others it just seems thinner, but a bit longer than others.
