I shave with an electric because I'm lazy. When I need a proper shave, I use my DE razor. Cheaper, and much better than any other razor. Barring a straight razor, of course.

Your derm was right. Fewer blades and less close obviously mean less stress on the skin. All the new shit they're coming out with is bull. If you're know what you're doing and don't go too fast you can get a nice clean shave without ripping off your face. I use my dad's old aluminum Gillette handle, but their other more current two blade models work just as well.

More blades is bad, for me at least. Maybe it speeds up the initial strokes a little, but if I'm trying to get a good shave the end is absolute murder.

Shouldn't be anything wrong with asking them to be slim. Depending on how the jeans fit originally, you might want to ask for a slight taper as well.
