wew

is only fun if you guys explain WHY you picked left or right

Conservative because don't bother me.

>identifying yourself on a single axis political spectrum

w e w lad

>Left-wing
I'm a Marxist.

WOW SO WOKE brUh
#woke

>not accounting for authoritarian vs libertarian views
Yeah, pretty "woke" considering the left/right dichotomy is fictional.

I dont know what I am.

On moral issue Im left wing, Im in favour of Gay marriage, and pro choice, Which is LW

On Social Protection Im right wing, ie I hate "affordable housing" fuck you government why did you give that stupid slut who never worked a day in her life a free house just because she got pregnant why poor me ends up with a mortgage of 300k? Which is RW

On economic policy Im pro regulation, I dont want another banking collapse, Which is LW

On Government provided services, Im anti privatization of all frountline services. Which is LW

my country doesnt have
>regulation
neither
>anti-privatization
is the complete opposite
and the goverment calls it self "socialist"

This, and

I would consider myself "right wing" because I'm opposed to mass immigration, mandated equality (a la quotas along ethnic and gender lines or even the concept that every single aspect of society must perfectly reflect the census), and a culture of ethnomasochism. If I disagree with any of the above I'm always been called far-right or a racist or whatever, so.. I guess? Also a few others like fiscally conservative and pro-strong borders, anti- intervention foreign policy.

On the other hand I would also like universal access to healthcare in one form or another be it interest free loans as a government policy or the revival of fraternal societies among private citizens or whatever, some form or another, and I believe climate change is a thing and I'm fine with most of the social rights given to gays and so forth. That stuff's not such a big deal for me, but it's led me to be called 'left wing' as well. The 'right wing' issues are for more important to me though.

same

Left-wing, because I'm a filthy commie

There is no right and left. There is only you and the institutions.

I'm glad that there's a balance between both on Veeky Forums based on what I'm seeing. It makes it a better board to have opinions from both sides.

yeah i thought there would be way more righwing anons

right wing, as i believe the inequality of men is not only natural, but healthy.
im center-right, though, because i still have compassion and sympathy for the downtrodden, and don't think that abuse is something that is healthy.

I'm on the right because my ideals line up most with them but I have republicans and conservatives
I guess you could call me alt right but I cringe at that term
I don't care about the identity politics I wont vote for you because you're a republican
I'm voting trump fyi

*Tips top

As did I but its only like 30 people
I'm sure the results could change along with the time of day and what countries are awake or asleep

Left and Right wing are largely useless indicators. If I am talking to an American and I say that I am a leftist then he assumes that I am a liberal. If I am talking to an older Russian than perhaps he thinks I am a Stalinist and he either wants to pat me on the back or break my teeth.

I really don't have a better solution though, so I guess until I do I am left wing, ancom.

>implying there is anything more fedora than gullibly allowing yourself to be trapped in a false dichotomy, forcing you against everyone else on the basis of your political beliefs

I'm deeply left wing. I'm support the worker and the downtrodden, over the master and fortunate. I believe in true justice, and liberty, and democracy.

spooky

I consider democracy the most heinous form of governming ever created so I guess RW.

Reactionary Monarchist

I'm socially conservative but I'm fiscally liberal because I think all the evidence clearly points that economies are much more efficient and successful when an enlightened government actively and frequently intervenes to correct market distortions. Also I'm a fervent nationalist and only left-wing nationalism makes consistent sense from a moral point of view. If you love your nation then you must love the people who live in it, or you're just a self-centred hypocrite.

>he thinks that the difference in class is unsubstantiated
>he actually thinks the higher classes don't have good reason to be running things
i dont think you've actually much to do with the 'downtrodden", they need help, but they need to be far from powerful

there is genuine merit to your position, i wouldn't go far with it, but the notion that the majority should be the rulers is actually pretty cancerous the further down it you go.

the goldilocks zone is somewhere between consent from the governed while the elites can rule. application is more than a little tricky.

Fucking fedoras
You say the simplest shit and act as if you are some kind of genius
I've got news for you faggot
Using big words doesn't make you smart or make others think you are when you say shit most people already fucking think

Right wing

>why?

Aesthetics

I've worked with plenty of people working multiple jobs, and have watched many entitled people with stations above them, lie, cheat, and steal, for their own benefit. Spineless people. Being impoverished isn't inherently noble, but neither is wealth. It comes down to a man or women's individual character, and I have yet to be convinced the wealthier are superior. Certainly not morally.

id reckon that the best way to measure the left-right is by manner of equality vs inequality.
something like the more power is consolidated int he hands of the few, the further to the right it is, the more it is placed in the masses, the further left it is.
leftism seems dandy, until it gets pushed towards communism and the like.

anything more is situational, things like abortion arent left-right on any surface level at least.

So what's your point? I made an argument and you didn't really give your opinion on it so I kinda assumed what you were saying. It would be nice to point it out rather than going off on a rant.

would you rather sort out and make more right who ought to be lower and who ought to be higher, or attempt to tear down the establishment all together?

if the former, you are a compassionate right winger, if the latter, a genuine leftist id say.

What about immigration? Is Trump's Wall plan inherently Right Wing?

>I don't like identity politics
Whoa dude you must be like
Some kind of super smart dude and shit man
How do you have such deep thoughts dude

Right wing because when I went into National Assembly chamber some Jacobin Club cunt took my ideal seat and I was forced to sit over with the old provincial noble reactionary kooks.

Veeky Forums: a high level of discourse everyone

I wouldn't say so. I'd say it's more conservative.
The secondary tug of war in my mind is the fight between conservatives and revolutionaries. This that simply wish to keep, and those who wish to move. These groups can be any where between right and left, pushing and pulling either to the right or left.
The wall is conservative, the immigration is revolutionary. One wants to keep what is, the other wishes to move.

I just want justice. I want equal opportunity for the children of the poor and the rich. I don't want people condemned because they're too good to play the psychopathic politics of power, or because they were born with a social disadvantage, having nothing to do with them. All people, willing to work and strive, are noble, and deserve equal chances.

right wing never gets this

But what if a poor man works his way to wealth in the hopes of passing on a better way of life to his children? Would you say he/his children 'deserve' that better way of life more than a seventh-generation wealthy man's child?

In an ideal society, the only equality of opportunity is through the eradication of prejudice. Everything else (wasting government funds on demographics that come to rely on it) is fairytale nonsense.

kill yourselves

Left wing never gets the world isn't a fucking make believe world where you get to wish everyone gets put onto an even playing field and it happens
They don't understand some people are more deserving and some are born into it and there's nothing that can be done about that without disadvantaging someone else

So you promote class mobility and equal opportunity programs.
You're not a leftist, you're fine with the classism, you just want a nice version of it. Nothing inherently wrong with this, just don't characterize yourself as more leftist than you are.

Veeky Forums is overrun by leftists and SJW

I'm fine if people "born into it" are disadvantaged by more worthy people getting their just due.

>I believe in true justice, and liberty, and democracy.

Oh, good for you! Because everyone who isn't "deeply left-wing" is against justice, liberty, and democracy, right?

Leftist I guess
I hate the greed of the Right-wings in power, it all seems very grimy
Although I'm in support of Gay marriage and abortion, I do not align myself with the Anti-capitalist SJW's and think trans people are kind of annoying

I'm not a communist, obviously. If that's what you mean. Not even a socialist--I believe in free markets. I am an American Democrat, though.

Not necessarily, obviously, but we have different ideas about what constitutes as much.

But you talk as if you have a monopoly on justice, etc., and your political opponents are either stupid or evil.

Somewhat like the Roman Republic then?

Socially liberal fiscal conservative :^)

If I had to pick, right-wing. I've always had conservative instincts and a strong belief in equality, and the more I see the extreme left the more I believe the right is the best way to get there. I'm kind of a Burkean conservative, revolution is bad, wither its prole revolution or Gramsci style march through the institutions.

I am pretty ambivalent on economic left/right.

I can't pick 'left' or 'right'. For every thing that one side says I agree with, there's another I disagree with.

>revolution is bad
I'm curious, why do you feel that way?

I think attempts to destroy existing social orders do more harm than good, as the end result is never really that revolutionary or different in terms of the new order it has brought about.
