Honestly Mac DeMarco has gotten to where he is solely by his 'le goofball' persona, and he probably wouldn't have been discovered otherwise. But in my opinion, he is a genuine musician, and has written some of the best material of the past 2-3 years. He will be remembered as a trashy hipster custom-built for the Urban Outfitters crowd, but that was never really his bag - the kid just knows his way around a guitar and writes nice breezy songs.
