Moving to Bath in October for uni from a country that sees no rain.

What are essentials pieces of clothing I need for the rain?
Are ponchos ever ok to wear on guys?

Rainwear general too I guess

get a nice umbrella from amazon or something for when it's not windy as heck. I have one from kolumbo and it's pretty nice for $20.

As for rain gear, all i really use is a north face waterproof jacket with taped seams. nothing fancy, but it gets the job done

What if it's windy?
Are ponchos common, Veeky Forums?

Something like these:

Ayy bath friends. Get ready for beautiful scenery and shite shops!

London's 90 minutes away by train, Bath itself seems great to live in.
Any tips on life there in general?
Where/what to live, eat, do, avoid?

...

These are the only ones that look ok to me. It rains all the time here, just get a waterproof coat that looks half decent and some shoes/boots that don't let water in. Not wellington boots though.

How do you deal with wet pants?
Any sort of water proof pants look autistic as fuck.
Just live with walking around in wet jeans?

Honestly, yeah. I just put up with it, as they generally dry within 5 minutes. Never go for joggers though. Takes forever to dry.

I've heard good things about Slim Dungarees in this regard

Seriously interested in trying these out now.
Hopefully they got a shop in London for me to check out before heading to Bath.

Either tweeds (tweed suits are GOAT for England weather) or a Barbour jacket with khakis/jeans. Tattersall shirts work with either. Jodhpur boots, umbrella.

I haven't seen these around, but they certainly look good. Might pick up a pair desu.

The cold is worse than the rain. Unless you're from Iceland or some shit

Arc'Teryx makes some bad ass weather resistant and waterproof gear

Pretty expensive though, so if you got money to burn it's well worth it

what kind of rain gear will i need in Seattle? moving in two weeks from LA

If I were you I'd start with getting an apartment in LA.

Seriously, Seattle is part of Hell.

My topman parka just came in today. I love it. I thought it was gonna be too big on me, being 5'7 and how it came down to mid thighs on the 6'2 model in the picture, but I ordered a small and thankfully it cut down on length as well. Love it.

Would it be too matchy matchy pairing this up with blue vans ?

Grew up in Seattle and still here at UW. I love it personally. Some people are really bitchy but aside from that it's great, you won't find a more beautiful city.
I'd get a black northface/marmot etc jacket for when it rains. Everyone has them here and they're pretty comfy.
Good luck and see you soon!

>Some people are really bitchy
yikes, yeah, i'm seeing that with some of the posts up there..

thanks for the advice!

How are these for lots of rain and slush?
