I didn't notice that. I've got a Lee Archives storm rider from a few years back. It's 100% cotton outside and 50/50 wool and synthetic lining.
I'm not sure if the linings on them was ever synthetic free.
If I recall correctly they were charging about the same amount of money for the archives one as this one.
