Yeah, I think you're on the right track. It's not my kind of music, but there are these FUCKING AMAZING coffee table books available on Blue Notes Records in the fifties and early sixties, and those mofos were effay as fuck. It's like they came from some alternate dimension where everbody is 10,000 times more fashionable than they are here. Either that, or there were just some extremely, extremely gifted photographers associated with that record label.

It's a hard question though, because there are effay notables from all genres. Like, for instance, look at the young Elvis, or look at early black R&R \ R&B people like Little Richard. There's just a staggering number of effay musicians scattered through history, even if their music itself sucks.
