Why is New Balance so hard investing in Korea?

Asian people seem to like New Balance. I think it probably has to do with the flashy colorways they have, the fact that they make you look taller, and they were worn by celebrities that are popular with teenagers.

No. It ruined the Veeky Forums board, along with waifu culture. Not a single thread for any game with an esports presence isn't dominated by "Oh shit! How pissed was dendi when purge banned lesh!?!?" To dissolve a Veeky Forums board into shitposts is an impressive feat, previously accomplished by neo-fascism and MLP, which are pretty damn far from Veeky Forums.
It's a loser-ey digression from celebrity culture, which is already a pit of asinine vapidity.

Maybe, but fashion is a discourse, wherein associations are vital. And garbage twitch/esports culture is too strong of a negative association not to ignore. Hedonistic nerds (that are: A. socially inept, B. dedicating their identity to something wholly unproductive, C. absolving their individuality by gathering to watch someone else, and D. not playing to the only nerd positive; intelligence) are going to be very unappealing for a long time.

Play video games and watch esports on your own time, and talk about it with your friends. But don't wear a t-shirt or broadcast it, because a lot of people will immediately peg you as a gross nerd that electronically sucks his own dick with his free time.
Real sports are associated with exhibitions of physical power, so don't think esports is gonna go in the same direction. And yeah the top like 20 LoL players in Korea have notoriously hot girlfriends, but that will always happen when you rise to the top of something you enjoy, because you gain confidence, social capital and money.

ultimately esports (and vidya) are a huge waste of time and can only provide a false sense of accomplishment. when i tell people my team was 4th in north america in a specific game mode in a league no one outside of the community has ever heard of no one gives a shit the thousands of hours i put into that game are gone and all i have now is carpal-tunnel and regrets. plus almost everyone i played with was underage and cancer.

That's what you get when you make a game F2P. I wish I had saved that picture of Muselk with his fans at Disney World or whatever. They were all 10 and under.

I was just saying it being full of underage cancer is because it's F2P. I know that didn't kill the game. Valve killed it because they don't see it as anything other than a cash cow to dump poorly optimized sparkly hats on every few months. Official 6s with Valve support could've been really really good if they'd actually put the effort into it. The prize pool at the last international LAN event was downright pathetic, as well.

Whenever I watch TF2 frag movies or similar and compare them to Overwatch, the multiplayer game I'm primarily playing at the moment, there's pretty much no comparison. Overwatch is oversimplied as fuck to the point where pushes are decided by how many ults a team can use at once, and the soldier equivalent has a button that rocket jumps for you without taking any damage. The whole game feels alot slower too. I think there's some good ideas there, like Lucio and Zenyatta, but I think the overall game execution is trying too hard and falls down because of it.

I used to follow TF2 but I quit once all the relevant competitive players realised that the competitive scene would never catch on. This was around when Broder, Epsilon, and Crack Clan were top teams in like 2012ish. The game just wasn't designed to be competive.

That's because the majority of their own playerbase don't see it as a competitive game. I really admire the people that do their best to make competitive TF2 work, though. It's like saying "fuck you Valve, we'll make this work on our own if you won't do shit."

Deft actually makes this shit look pretty good to be honest.
