Why do we enforce the idea that you need a suit to look professional but don't actually enforce that you need a suit that fits even a little bit.

I went to this place today and the security guard was this scrawny guy and looked like he was wearing his dads suit. Pants all bunched up, jacket big enough for another person.

So, why even wear it? Why get any of these people to wear suits when they just look more trash? Security guards, car salesmen, etc etc.

If they werent forced to wear a suit security guards would look like the niggers/old men/dyke women they are

First image looks better desu, slim fit suits are cancer and even super massive is better

Suits are such an arbitrary dress-code. Wish guys could wear other things and still be considered formal.

For Veeky Forums, not for regular professionals. If the guy in the meeting is either yohji drape ninja suit, dads suit, or slim tailored, you want the latter.

My issue is also on the cuts and materials. Its like if they could have, they would have canned wine. But they could only cork it so now its muh trudition. If the early high society had access to Jordans and tailored sweatpants would they prance around in cold leather and wood clogs with a thick ass sheep ensemble?

I just feel like it would be OK to move to a more modern formality.

Could suiting become pic related?

Suits aren't that bad, at least they're based on old time activewear, soldier's and hunter's grab.

Look at the shit women wear for 'formal', it's deliberately uncomfy!

Loose suits look better than whatever the fuck is on the right, but the left still looks pretty bad.

loose=/=too long

That's still a loose suit, though.

>I just feel like it would be OK to move to a more modern formality.
no not really because it has actually no purpose and it's just arbitary code how you are supposed to look
like boyscouts have their uniform, it could be more modern and functional but it isn't because it's not the point
>Could suiting become pic related?
funny you make fun of yohji in your post when it's the high fashion designers that are the only ones doing stuff like this, because they arent' designing for professional environments and don't really care about what suits are supposed to be

That isn't tailored, it's a meme fit

...

Have you never seen high-waist dress pants before? They go up super high.

>african_man_in_nipple_high_pants.jpg

old fashioned suits used to be huge though, just part of the times.

>tfw baggy suits will be back in full force in 2020

back to /pol/ asshole

so difficult to believe this...

>left: chill af du in a loose yohji suit
>right: annoying millennial banker guy

>Why do we enforce the idea that you need a suit to look professional but don't actually enforce that you need a suit that fits even a little bit.
We do enforce it in every workplace that's worth a damn. If you get an interview with an investment bank and you show up in some ill-fitting heap of shit letting them know you can't wear a suit, you won't get the job no matter how sharp you are. From there the whole suit wearing thing trickles down more and more sloppily until the shit pools at the security guard level.

>Suits aren't that bad, at least they're based on old time activewear, soldier's and hunter's grab.
Tbph there's still nothing comfier for winter than a heavy tweed suit. Those old timers knew what they were doing

These are perfectly fitted in terms of length, they sit at his natural waist. They're weirdly baggy though and that makes the silhouette look damn odd, must be some American thing.

Left looks better than right though
