How will history remember Veeky Forums 30 years from now?

How long will it be remembered for?

People will talk about the Golden Age of memes, and mourn that a true pepe these days is hard to find

anus of internet

>tfw I'll still be shitposting on here with a wife and kids

Romans shitposted on walls in Vesuvius
It should be safe to say that at least some of our memes and shitposting will survive the test of time, when others will find it and relate

Schools will teach for five minutes about the famous hacker Veeky Forums in the class dedicated to the internet.

>with a wife and kids
I'm sorry user but...

After it stops existing and reddit persists, people will use 'Veeky Forums' in the same way people use 'Hitler'.

Only remembered as a vile place, i'm certain of it.

My plan is to make billions of Pepe artifacts and scatter them around the world so in the far future archaeologists (assuming the world will collapse at some point) will find all these Pepe artifacts and conclude that this Pepe is somekind of fertility deity.

Child pornography

I'm more inclined to believe that this "Pepe" was a Satan-like adversary figure tempting and tormenting the hero. Please check these illustrations from the Greentext Codex

Same way its viewed by the mainstream now, a deepweb darknet forum populated by elite hackers and cyberterrorists.

I can see future archaeologists debating heavily the true nature of Pepe. Perhaps I can create an Pepe artificat so good that it will start a religion and the people will fight about the true teachings of Pepe...

Pic related.

What is this 2006? Anonymous abandoned this shit hole years ago and the whole 'secret deep-web hacker internet hangout' reputation fell away with it. Veeky Forums is now just a place where edgy teenagers go to say the things they're not allowed to say in real life because they'd get grounded. That and maybe for being a bottom-shelf meme factory that produces the kind of advice-animal shit that recirculates around social media. Hell even that has waned off in the last few years. Veeky Forums is just a dying shit hole. It was always bad, indeed, but it's just plateauing fast now.

But Anonymous are and always were edgy teenagers, user.

Veeky Forums has been mainstream and normie central for over a decade.

It was never nearly as dominant as it is now though. There is basically not a single board that isn't infected with /pol/shits, where it used to be fairly contained. I think it's because most of the users in those days were Bush-era adolescents and so neo-conservatism and religiosity, and to an extent, racism, were perceived as the social foundations to rebel against. It used to be if you *weren't* a "fedora tipper" (you were religious) you'd get berated and jammed up with memes. Now we live at the end of a """liberal""" administration and so you can see why young people's idea of rebellion has shifted.

I can't wait for Trump to be elected so we get flooded by Bernies and SJWs 2.0 next summer.

I don't it was the fad
>You rebel to bush,religion,neo-cons pre 09
>you rebel to obama,atheism,lberalism post 09
No, I think there was a major demographical shift.

Pre 07-08 (I would say September 2007 was the eternal september of 4chins, but anyways) Veeky Forums consisted of mostly teens, belonging to upper to middle class liberal-left leaning household. The "/pol/tards" in mid 2000s were not browsing boards, they were going to Jesus camp-Church, talking about how harry potter was the devil. Veeky Forums became extremely popular post 09, in 2010's, thus masses began to come and the shift went to the right.

You can see a similar trend in muslims countries, pre 2006-7 only upper class, atheistic folk were lurking the internet and then internet was normalised and you got your average poor religious muslim also posting. A similar thing happened to Veeky Forums

There's no particular reason to think it won't be here in 30 years. It's lasted 13 already and there's no reason to think that anonymous imageboards will stop being a thing.

>The "/pol/tards" in mid 2000s were not browsing boards, they were going to Jesus camp-Church, talking about how harry potter was the devil
No one like this ever frequented Veeky Forums in any significant number.
You're right that /pol/ shit largely came in during the democratization of Veeky Forums, but they're way more mainstream than fundies or else related to the older Veeky Forums demographics, just more peripheral.

In 30 years I will upload my mind on the internet and become 1 with Pepe

The Pepularity will be soon

Pepe will absolutely be a niche "Kilroy was Here" sort of meme that's remembered by a few weirdos sixty years from now

At the very least, it will be a "knights fighting snails" kind of thing

Veeky Forums is visibly better than it was a year ago

yeah bad analogy, not fundies per se but belonging to lower-middle class, blue collar, law abidin' god fearin' rural dwellin' households.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Anonymous can't abandon Veeky Forums because you and I are anonymous. Take a look at the name written above your post. The hacker groups that sometimes make the media these days adopted the name, but that doesn't mean they are or define anonymous.

And Veeky Forums has always been a place where edgy teenagers go to say things they aren't allowed to say irl. Thinking that Veeky Forums was ever better or good is a classic meme mistake.

Russell Brand is the leader of anonymous.

i though he was Katy Perry's unfunny husband

you can thank hiroyuki "an hiro" nishimura for that

...

The deanonymization of Veeky Forums will be remembered as the reason style scramblers became a key internet privacy tool.

>The deanonymization of Veeky Forums
The what? Is this something you think already happened or are you making a prediction?

knowyourmeme.com will be an important historical archive.

Normie shits

...

Veeky Forums will be remembered as that hacker website that was full of pedophile nazi weeaboos.
